Minoan: Whoever said the Greeks were efficient?

Minoan (MIN) had announced that the final hearing which would - we all expect - dismiss the final appeal against the Presidential Decree for the Cave Sidero site was to be on 4 July. But this is Greece. We are now told:

GYM

The Gym Group - Limbering Up and Rolling Out

The Gym Group (GYM), the low-cost gym operator currently rolling out across the UK, has issued a strong trading update this morning which shows forward momentum continuing and providing further fuel for the growth thesis here.

Malcolm Stacey on holiday Caption Contest day 6 & day 5 winner

Yesterday's holiday snap from Getafix generated 17 possible captions. The most innacurate, from Backwoodsman, suggested that Malcolm burying his cash in the ground might be his worst investment decision. No way. Surely buying LGO shares was worse. At least there is a slim chance of getting your cash back out of the hole. But Backwoodsman also served up the winner. You can see all 17 entries HERE. Today Malcolm's snap suggests the old rogue has got very lucky. Do your worst.

PLA

Plastics Capital – after interim numbers failed to impress, what about the full-year?

Having sold on the Nifty Fifty subscription site last year at above 100p, the following updates on Plastics Capital (PLA) with the shares currently at 93p following results for its year ended 31st March 2016…

HSP

Hargreaves Services - On the turnaround track and with balance sheet protection, it's a buy

Hargreaves Services (HSP) crosses the radar today on the back of a trading update ahead of full-year results which are set to be released in August. This fuels and logistics group has seen a tremendous collapse in its share price over the past several years, but it looks as if it may have now reached “value” territory.

Clarkson – another from “heavier weighting to the second half” to 'material' profit warning

“Trading Update” from shipping services company Clarkson (CKN) includes notice early of “deterioration in freight rates” reflecting an “increase in global economic uncertainty and the continuing imbalance between supply and demand in shipping and offshore”. Uh oh…

TrakM8 claims its generating pots of cash. That is not the case - still a sell

No doubt Paul Scott is wetting himself as TrakM8 (TRAK) boasts of how pre-tax profits of £3 million leads to cash of £4.45 million being generated in calendar 2015. There is so much cash generated that his Dorset bunnies are paying a 2p per share dividend, even though the company has now moved into net debt. The squeals of Scotty delight in Brighton are almost audible here in Bristol. Except that it is all smoke and mirrors. TrakM8's business remains a piss poor non generator of cash.

Bluebird Merchant Ventures - now trading arm is working and we can reveal it is dealing with Glencore - Buy!

Earlier last week there was cracking news on the Batangas gold mine which - on its own justifies a multiple of the current share price. But now we have confirmation that Bluebird's (BMV) copper concentrate trading operation has banked its first cheque. More will flow and quickly.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but uncertainty is a worry. Blame all the coming bad news on Brexit.

The real drive for Brexit had little to do with economics, but a great deal to do with immigration and against this backdrop the EU’s economy has been crawling along in the slow lane since 2008.  Since then The EU has been unable to create a plan that would fix dire unemployment in southern Europe, where in some parts youth unemployment is over 50%, and revive a stagnant economy. The EU’s founding treaty promised prosperity and this is what was sold to the citizens of Europe and so its leaders have failed quite spectacularly on this front.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - its all about cash & shagging Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders

It seems that Dallas Cowboys News likes my tweets on the matter of its cheerleaders so I talk about them again. Then I move on to ECR Minerals (ECR), Servision (SEV) and the spivs at Belfort Securities, Gulf Keystone (GKP), Rose Petroleum (ROSE), Clarkson (CKSN), XCite Energy (XEL) and TrakM8 (TRAK)

Eden Research - here is how you cover up that £600,000 fraud a bit longer

After the sad AIM demise of its sister company, the fraud Environmental Recyclying (ENRT), I have been thinking long and hard  about Eden Research (EDEN). I am a nice guy and I am wondering how CEO Sean Smith and PR himbo Paul "Queenie" MacManus can cover up the massive Panama pump securities fraud of last August. I would urge them to act quickly but I do have a cunning plan to postpone their day of reckoning.

Malcolm Stacey on Holiday Caption Contest Day 5 ( and day 4 shock winner)

The standard of entries in yesterday's Getafix on holiday contest was dire. And so notwithstanding the fact that Wildes will now report me to the FCA for market abuse I am awarding the non existent prize to my own entry. You can see the other captions HERE. Please do better with today's selfie sent in by Malcolm who is now back on the beach as you can see below.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Gulf Keystone toast & shagging Cheryl Cole & the entire Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad

It looks as if shareholders will very soon hear the final grim news at Gulf Keystone (GKP). I first said sell at 180p and have been given grief all the way down. Folks can line up to apologise to me in an orderly queue. I discuss who is to blame and what happens next. Then it is onto the reason Brexit is not the real issue, there is an elephant in the room and its European but its on the other side of the channel. That takes me to the UK deficit, Cheryl and the cheerleaders and my stance on equities.

Highlands Natural Resources and its Helium claims - bombshell documents show they are...not true

Highlands Natural Resources (HNR) is yet to answer the issues raised in the Paul Mendell bombshell of last weekend and so while it keeps its head in the sand, here is another matter for it to discuss: why is it lying about its Helium plays? Yes that is the L word - go ahead and sue me bitchez I shall happily see you in court.

A regulatory rant - the FCA is not fit for purpose

When Gotham City published its now infamous report on Quindell, a copy of which was sent to the FCA and the Serious Fraud Office, it was OVER a year later that any action was taken and this despite a high profile campaign against it by Tom Winnifrith Shareprophets and, to a far lesser extent, Dan McCrum at the FT which, in the case of Shareprophets, included many specific allegations of fraud and open exhortations to the FCA to do something about it.

FDM Group shares plunge - here is why you should buy

Post the Brexit vote and the profits warning from Interquest (0ITQ) shares in FDM (FDM) stood at 550p. They are now 450p. I have a private email from a top City analyst which explains the fall but also why the shares are cheap and a buy. It reads:

Notes from Underground: Dy-No-Mite!

Week after week I complain that readers choose the soap opera story lines on ShareProphets over the hard journalism, or, at the very least, press play on Bearcast and zone out to the bliss of Tom's outrage. But this week, at the beguinning of the summer silly season, readers have chosen a real ShareProphets investigative story, Dynamite: Highlands Natural Resources: Tell us all about Mendell Energy Technologies LLC, as their number one read of the week. I'm proud of you.

Filthy 40 AIM Casino Elimination Stakes – you were right! (so far…)

It seems that Yougov, Mori and whatever else the pollster are called these days have a thing or two to learn from ShareProphets polling. They keep on getting it wrong, but our readers responded to the question of how many delistings and suspensions were coming on the ShareProphets AIM-China Filthy Forty over four weeks from 17 June and half of respondents said two or three. So far, it is bang on. Mind you, there are still a few days to go.
