Having asked for readers tips for 2020 for the prize of 1/2 litre of Tom Winnifrith’s Greek Hovel olive oil (2020 harvest) HERE, the following is the competition result (to be eligible needed to have selected, on a per username basis, a buy & sell pick from the LSE or AIM casino and the stocks not to have been suspended at the commencement of 2020)… and the winner is…

MAJOR REPORT: Alternative Energy – Which ones have Emperor’s new clothes?

The alternative energy sector is the broad term I use for non-oily & gassy energy listed companies. The sector has been hot all year and starts next year on some spectacular valuations. In many ways all valuations in the sector are bonkers, but which ones are most bonkers? And which companies are wearing Emperor’s new clothes? Here’s my meandering views on 6 leading contenders.

Video: Tom Winnifrith eats his hat, thanks to Andrew Bell and Red Rock Resources

I said that if shares in Red Rock Resources (RRR) did not double by Christmas, I would eat my hat. Thanks Andrew Bell for this humiliation. However, I am a man of my word and so, as you can see below, I have done as I said.

Red-Flag

COMPETITION RESULT: New Year’s Eve Red Flags Sweepstakes…….and two Special Awards

And so New Years’s Eve has come to a close and the Red Flags in the form of no-one-is-watching o’clock announcements (or in one case, non-announcement) of bad news have come to an end.

Festive Break 2020: The views from ShareProphets’ readers’ windows — Worcester and, finally, a dog. And a video of a glider.

Every day until New Year’s Day, we’ll publish a picture of the view through a reader’s window. This is the seventh year we’ve asked our readers for their photos, and we have received photos from all over the planet. It’s one thing to know that we have tens of thousands of readers, it’s another to see proof of it.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Happy Brexit has been done New Year to you all

I mean it. Happy New Year to you all, especially our own in house Euro loon Jonathan Price who will be in tears at 11 PM tonight. I shall not be! In this podcast I discuss the FCA and today’s mini-bond calamity in waiting, Supply@ME Capital (SYME), and the Marwyn vehicle (MAC1) where Vin Murria is now on board but where it seems impossible to buy shares. That’s not much fun is it? Vin: how about a Primary Bid offer for we plebs? I also lash out at Priti Patel and the Tories for blowing off the public sector while the private sector is screwed. I thought that is what Labour was for.

Another day and another ramptastic RNS from Supply@ME Capital – it is all about the liar Zamboni’s option

Remember that bonkers RNS from September 24?  That is why Supply@ME Capital (SYME), and specifically its boss, the liar Alessandro Zamboni, is pushing out so many ramptastic RNS announcements.

BREAKING: The FCA fecking up again, the next Mini Bond catastrophe: The High Street Group – is that a fat Lady I see approaching?

On its website under heading “High Street Group In Numbers” it states its Current Estimated Value of The Group is £1.5 billion and forecasted value of the company by 2023 is £3 billion.  My forecast value by the end of 2021 is exactly zero. You will not be able to say that you were not warned. Or that the truly useless FCA has done anything, or is currently doing anything, to stop mug punters losing cash on this mini-bond disaster. Given the scrutiny it faces over London & Capital Finance, that is doubly shocking.

LGEN

The Legal Has Taken Off Again – and Should Keep Flying

Hello, Share Changers. Before the pandemic one of the most reliable risers in the Footsie was the insurance giant Legal & General (LGEN). Like most financial shares it took a big hit with the virus’s arrival, dropping in a flash from 318p to below 140p. Ever since those dark days, the price has been moving slowly and steadily up to its present level of around 270p…

AIQ

(Sub-) Standard-listed AIQ…..now founding exec directors depart with immediate effect! Shame on you Andrew Monk

Sub-Standard-listed AIQ has had a chequered history since it floated on the London Stock Exchange courtesy of Andrew Monk and VSA Capital. The founding executive directors’ full details had not been correctly disclosed, there was the mother of all shambles as IPO share certificates failed to arrive in a timely manner and at the same time a buying frenzy – perhaps by people who thought there was a relationship to Mama Captain (denied), the stock spent most of its first four months as a listed entity suspended and even a placing to address the IPO shambles was messed up. Meanwhile, the stock was trading (when not suspended) at a ridiculous premium to cash, with no business.

As much as I like the Powerhouse Energy tech I can't see the value at this price - its time to bank an 1800% profit

Even when I think a share has the potential to do well, sometimes I’m completely caught out by just how quickly its market cap increases, and that has certainly been the case with Powerhouse Energy (PHE), which has gone on to become one of my best ever tips.

URU Metals – Red Flags Aplenty as Interims are Released

The good news is that we did not have to wait until after-hours on New Year’s Eve for the latest set of Interim Results to September from AIM-listed John Zorbas POS URU Metals (URU). But the numbers are, as predicted, truly awful – it is Red Flags ahoy from this technically insolvent joke company.

Breaking: Ex fund manager Mark Denning wants ShareProphets to ensure you folks do not know about him - fascist lawyer's letter arrives!

And so a fascist email from a lawyer arrives addressed to ShareProphets requesting that we remove content from our website. The email comes from a Spanish firm called Eliminalia which boasts that it is “dedicated to erasing the past. Our team deletes all the links that exist about your person or business one-by-one, if necessary, initiating legal action to achieve your desired results, thanks to our team of in-house attorneys.”. Orwell would love these bastards. The person paying Eliminalia to bully companies such as ShareProphets is former fund manager Mark Denning. Well Mark we will publish this correspondence in full so that more folks know about you. And to Eliminalia we will “see you in court bitchez!” So who is Denning?
