Supply@ME Capital – just how credible is Susanne Chishti as a non-executive Director?

A key judgement for non-executive Directors if they wish to preserve their reputation is the careful selection of the companies whose Boards they join and remain on.  High quality non-executives avoid companies that could damage their reputation. Weaker non-executives tend to be less picky and hold their nose even if the companies they sit on are less than blue chip.  According to the Supply@ME Capital (SYME) Prospectus, Susanne Chishti was a Director of 9 companies as of the date of the Prospectus (it actually lists 10 companies but one is a duplicate) and only one appears to be a publicly listed entity.

The top twenty most read ShareProphets articles of 2020

I have used Excel Sheets, Cray Supercomputers, and consulted the Necromicon and I cannot see a pattern in these 20 articles. The only thing that they have in common is they thare the the 20 most read articles on ShareProphets in 2020.

Festive Break 2020: The view from ShareProphets’ readers’ windows — Langebaan, South Africa & Tenby, Wales

Every day until New Year’s Day, we’ll publish a picture of the view through a reader’s window. This is the seventh year we’ve asked our readers for their photos, and we have received photos from all over the planet. It’s one thing to know that we have tens of thousands of readers, it’s another to see proof of it.

This Big Builder Could Erect an Even Better Share Price With its Strong Foundations

Hello, Share Markers. You may be aware of my support for housebuilders in these odd times. Some pessimists warn that house prices will fall in a general recession. That would cause builders’ shares to slide, but I’m fairly confident, for reasons given in previous articles, that the opposite will be the case as the virus falls away…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: This is utter insanity, use it as a chance to exit your dogs

In today’s podcast I look at Powerhouse Energy (PHE), Supply@ME Capital (SYME), Pires Investments (PIRI) and Chris Akers, MyHealthChecked (MHC), Inspirit (INSP), Octagonal (OCT), and Remote Monitored Systems (RMS).

Inspirit – Pressure builds as a non-entity of a statement is released. SELL!!!

At 1.25pm AIM-listed POS Inspirit Energy (INSP) issued a statement relating to fellow AIM-listed Octagonal, where its CEO and Chairman John Gunn, and Finance Director Nilesh Jagatia also reside in the same roles,  whose subsidiary,  Global Investment Strategy is Inspirit’s sole broker – the very same subsidiary which has been charged by the SEC – alongside John Gunn, for aiding and abetting – with violating US broker-dealer registration provisions of the Securities Exchange Act 1934. Given that Jagatia and Gunn make up two thirds of the board of Inspirit, there clearly is a problem here!

Is it time to bank a more than 450% profit on Argo Blockchain?

Just over a year ago I covered a ‘mining’ share as a speculative buy, and it was very different to the natural resources companies that I normally cover, as it was mining Bitcoin rather than any metal or other commodity.

IRON

Ironveld – a 'no one watching o’clock' day results announcement. Uh oh...

Ironveld (IRON) has today announced results for its year ended 30th June 2020, concluding “we look forward to providing further updates in the near future”. Hmmm – releasing results on largely ‘no one watching o’clock’ days such as those this week doesn’t tend to mean good news…

Finablr – When will this fraud delist, worthless, as CEO walks the plank?

It was back in January that I asked if fully-listed Finablr (FIN) was a house of cards. Well, it was – and having denied any problems over and over again, we finally learnt that it had suffered the same fate as fellow Dr Shetty vehicle NMC Health (NMC) with secret cheques being written, director shares being sold and a mountain of debt racked up. Earlier this month Finablr announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to sell Finablr Ltd for just $1.

Red-Flag

Competition: The Great ShareProphets New Year’s Eve Red Flags Sweepstakes – place your entries now!

And so we head for the end of the year – another traditional time to bury bad news by announcing it when nobody is paying any attention, ie on New Year’s Eve. Top of my list for awful results is AIM-listed URU Metals (URU) headed by John Zorbas, which offered up a dreadful half-year report the day before New Year’s Eve last year which demonstrated it was technically insolvent by a big margin. It will surely be no different this year.

Four Shares I'm Counting on in a New Year that Americans, at Least, Think Will be a Bumper 2021

Hello, Share Mixers. There’s much optimistic noise coming from America. Many top analysts over there expect a bumper 2021. I’ve recently written on how this cheer should be reflected over here. Though some of my shares have already been performing well during the year of the virus. Please allow me to touch on a few of them now…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: BBMs delude themselves on bad news, case study Octagonal & the SEC plus should I jump onboard Malcolm's green shite bandwagon?

I start with the issue of how we all delude ourselves about how bad bad news can be. My case study is Octagonal (OCT) and the scale of any likely punishment by the SEC. Then I ask whether we should all jump on board Malcolm Stacey’s green shite bandwagon and abandon any “dirty” old world plays? You see it is not as simple as the old guy claims. Do you remember when he was telling us all to buy Radio stocks back in 1927?

Vomit List- 2020 Vomit Bucket Winners: 10 oil dogs reviewed

After a rolling year of oil price movements, I find myself once again sat next to the fire at Christmas time cogitating oil company performance and prospects. Having suggested I would rather hold a bucket of Vomit than some oil shares this time last year, it’s time to review just how much money I did not lose. Yep it’s time to project the 2020 Vomit list awards to the deserving winners.
