Published 240 days ago

We spotted that that the Chief Marketing Officer of AIM-listed Purplebricks (PURP) had been beating a hasty retreat the other day, selling £341,000 worth of shares acquired from the exercise of options almost as soon as the certificate arrived. But it seems that Old Mutual had a similar idea.

Rurelec – FY15 report published; finger of blame pointed

Published 252 days ago

Blow me down! Having been suspended for failing to get its accounts out on time AIM-listed Rurelec has finally got its calendar FY15 numbers out. Fair play to the two-man board: with an ongoing cash-crisis as they try to rescue the company from its dire situation the workload must be extreme. With the numbers now out (after-hours, of course!) the shares are expected to resume trading on Monday. As to the report, it is dreadful – and the finger of blame is firmly pointing in the direction of the old guard under Peter Earl. It is a shocking read.

IndigoVision Group – “camera volumes increased markedly” & cash up, but…

Published 260 days ago

Having previously been positive on shares in IndigoVision Group (IND), I last concluded, with the shares then at 267.5p, that it was difficult to be particularly confident and that I’d look for safer value elsewhere (see HERE). I now update with the shares currently approaching 6% lower today, at 123.5p, on the back of a trading update for the first half of 2016…

Flybe to the Moon and Let Me Play Among This Star.

Published 287 days ago

Hello share switchers. During 2016, I've already suggested that you research a few airlines, as the signs are that most of them will do rather well in the next few years. We can mostly thank the low price of oil. But airports are getting busier all the time. And as many less-developed parts of the world become, well, more developed, more of their residents will want to hit the business and tourism trails.

DP Poland – AGM update; Oink, Oink

Previously commenting in March on the company with the exclusive right to develop, operate and sub-franchise Domino's Pizza stores in Poland, DP Poland (DPP) I concluded with scepticism on the valuation – a share price rising to more than 28p meaning a market cap of circa £37 million. Tern – FY Results part 2, what’s in the Annual Report but not in the Results RNS?

Published 419 days ago

I indicated in part 1 of my results analysis that there were a few bits and bobs in the Tern (TERN) Annual Report which had not made in into the RNS version of the FY15 results. Often it pays, when studying a company’s numbers, to begin with the notes to the accounts and then work backwards from there. And so here are a few things which caught my eye.

ShareProphets RNS Translation Service: Asian Citrus “Winter Orange Crop” update

Published 462 days ago

ShareProphets AIM-China Filthy Forty play Asian Citrus (ACHL) has had a history of suffering biblical-style plague and misfortune. Published 511 days ago

Yesterday, in the last RNS of the day which was slipped out at 6.20pm, the latest numbers from the Edge Performance VCTs were released. I was less than impressed when I last wrote about them a year ago (HERE) but following the advent of The Clangers have the numbers improved at all?

UPDATED: Pointless PR puffery RNS of the day – NetDimensions: when’s the Placing?

Published 523 days ago

I had to laugh out loud when I read this morning’s RNS Reach from AIM-listed NetDimensions (NETD). It is normally a pretty bad sign when a company announces that it has won some sort of spurious award, but this really takes the biscuit. You see, it is not even NetDimensions that has won it: it is one of its clients!  The update is the figures from the balance sheet - far, far worse than my first reading.

Red Flags at Night: Goldenport Holdings Inc Interims and offer talks terminated

And so we come to fully listed Goldenport Holdings Inc (GPRT) which did exactly that, in the form of its interims. But it was not just that this came at no-one-is-watching o’clock, there were a few other matters which anyone holding this stock might want to pay attention to – if they are not blinded by subterfuge.
