It is no secret that ZAI Corporate Finance run by big Ray Zimmerman is the worst Nomad in London. If no-one else will represent a client, Big Ray steps up to the plate but I can reveal that this has already landed him in the soup big time with the regulators and I now urge the FCA and AIM Regulation to shut him and his company down for good in an open letter.

Tom, this may be a difficult request for AIM because it may be that AIM Regulations allowed ZAI to take on Naibu without carrying out full DD in order that Naibu was not immediately suspended. It might be that AIM were more concerned with companies losing their listing in a “disorderly” fashion than the requirement for ZAI to carry out full DD. Lots of “mights” and “maybes” but these are the rumours among the Nomads. If this is the case then the finger pointing should really be at AIM Regulations. Worth investigating perhaps?
DUCK AND DIVE
I rather hope that the regulators were complicit in this as it will then turn into the biggest stink the City has seen for years, a Government enquiry, evidence before committees, mass sackings and a long-overdue overhaul of the regulatory process. And if the UK Government is reluctant to act then I’m sure MiFiD/the EU would love the chance to haul our regulators over the coals.

“What I can reveal today is that ZAI Corporate Finance has already been slammed by the regulators for its failures in doing due diligence in client take-ons and monitoring, notably with regards to PLC clients from Asia. The formal reprimand came in an 80 page document which has been seen by a reliable source. But it was a private bollocking.”
