Breaking news and expert analysis on fast-moving AIM and LSE listed shares

Shares rise for no reason, the company say there is no reason, they fall, a few spoofers make money. In other cases stocks are being ramped in ways that are completely outside the rules of the game. Sorry to do this but I have to use the weekend's nonsense from Sefton (SER) as an example. Either there are rules in which case this stock needs suspending and some folks getting a slap on the wrists or there are no rules in which case the hoods are running the asylum and AIM is officially not an honest place to do business. I also look at Mosman Oil & Gas, Daniel Stewart ( apologies timescale a day out on that one) and a few other POS stocks.

Is that four or five Sefton rants in as many days? I can’t keep count. Will you be reporting the lack of governance by Sefton NED, Clem Chambers? Surely the NEDs are just as culpable as the advisers? Not that I understand what they have done wrong.
Meanwhile, you may have forgotten – or never read – the Sefton RNS which announced that a provisional sale of their Kansas assets had been agreed last month by the signing of an MOU. Would it be unreasonable if shareholders were anticipating some cash from this shortly? However much it realises, it will be a non-trivial sum which you somehow overlooked in your recent analysis of the fundamentals.
And you castigate some poor BBM for inventing an incoming asset producing upwards of 250bopd. Perhaps the poor fellow was merely repeating what Daniel Levi wrote in his February statement about the SaveSure Consortium:
“New producing assets which are subject to Non Disclosure Exclusivity Agreements are also provisionally included in the turnaround strategy. Assets that are currently producing 250 bopd with a real potential to rise in excess of 800 bopd after workovers.”

While the Sefton SP is unwarranted by known assets, there appear to be some grounds for the wave of sentiment – which continues to hold up today despite your worst endeavours.
And I suspect the reason that Sefton’s shares haven’t been suspended is that no-one has done anything wrong – or certainly not wrong enough to warrant suspension. The regulators aren’t there to kill sentiment and stop a share becoming over-priced on fundamentals.

I see the entrepreneurial wizard, Mr Terry, has appeared from out under a stone and favoured the Telegraph with an audience, last week.
Amongst the gems of wisdom, his Eminence pontificates:-
1. …… accusations of insider dealing “a heap of rubbish”.
2. “There’s never been an issue with the FCA.”
3. “I’m absolutely positive that FCA approval will come through in the normal timescales,”
4. Daniel Stewart was “undervalued”, adding “there’s also some things I’d like to do in partnership with them to do with the other things I’m doing with Quob Park.
The investing and business mastermind goes on to state :- “We will open up [Quob Park] to retail investors to invest alongside us and for that we will need to work with an FCA regulated firm, and I hope that that firm will be Daniel Stewart.”
Terry also claims that Quob Park has investing fire-power of some £50 million.
Can I, along with many thousands of ShareProphets readers assume that the Sheriff and his team, will be paying close attention to Mr Terry and his new business ventures?

Perhaps it would be better if there were no rules so people don’t fall prey to the false sense of security resulting from the impression of active and potent regulation
