I had a long chat last night with my Eurosceptic Uncle and godfather Christopher Booker and who like me is hoping that Greece votes Oxi. But he knows that we have some strange bedfellows in the Oxi camp.

I think you’re starting to hedge your bets here Tom.
The sad reality is that the scare stories coming from the EU, EZ & opposition of oxi meaning out of both EZ & EU, banks not reopening, armageddon striking will sway even angy, impoverished Greeks. Same tactics will be employed here in the UK for own referendum.
Reality is Greeks are going to be punished irrespective of oxi/nai with even tougher demands for having nerve to ask electorate, and whilst current elected government is in place. The EZ doesn’t give a monkey about people & their suffering, the sustainability of the debt, whether banks have to do an even more draconian, Cypriot-like raid on deposits all they care about is the USofE project and nothing and nobody will divert them from that. Democracy counts for nothing and only liars claim & fools believe it does.

Glad the OXI won but reading this after your other comments is pretty revealing. A weak fellow traveller are you Tom? When we were fighting Hitler we had Stalinists and monarchist chetniks fighting with us. They did not represent our views but as Churchill famously remarked” If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons”. In the fight against the bankers rule then all allies must be welcome even if our other views are totally opposed.
