Was calling me a heartless faschist really necessary? And my facts are right. My opinions might be different than yours but that doesn’t make them wrong. Just because you admire the sweet Greek peasant, doesn’t mean that he doesn’t benefit from the modern roads and ports and the pension and free education for his children that he never contributed to in any way and has done everything in his power to avoid paying taxes in order to start contributing to. Yes the Greeks should go bankrupt, thats what happens when you borrow and spend more than you can ever earn, yes the Greeks never should have been brought into the Euro, and yes they never should have been given so much money they couldn’t pay back. But bankruptcy is not what the Greeks want, they actually believe that their threat to kill the EU unless they got an endless stream of bribery money is going to work, and frankly I hope it doesn’t. And just because Germany is a wealthy well run economy, doesn’t make them them bankster crony capitalists.

Primary responsibility should lie with the people who lent Greece the money – that is not to say that the Greek politicians don’t deserve blame too – but the bankers – ie the specific people – responsible for making those loans should be brought to book.

Where does that come from pal ??. I have lived in Greece, these are some of my friends your talking about, They aren’t scum, their normal law abiding people.
You talk like an old French colonial propping up a bar in Djibouti lamenting his old lost world.
Where the wealth creation you promised to bring to the people of Europe, same place as tax payers money saving your skin-arse propping up your fucking spiv banks. If you can’t bring wealth to the people the alternative is to bring the people to the wealth, hence the open borders. Wealth distribution not wealth creation.
How may Olive trees does Greece have to grow before you can call it an industrial revolution, and just how many museums does Liverpool actually need to build before you can call it an industrial revival.
The Chinese can build a city the size of Birmingham in the time it takes your precious EU can agree the size of a banana.
