It seems that not everyone agrees with me pointing out that Daily Mail journalist Liz Jones produced a shoddy and misleading article on Greece. That sort of scaremongering that Ms Jones served up had damaged the tourist trade in Greece so hurting poor folks even more. Several English folks in that trade in Greece cited the Daly Mail as the worst offender. I urge you to ignore the witch Jones and the Daily Mail and go to Greece (see HERE). But now back to the moron Helena who posts on ShareProphets: “Disgraceful blogging. You’re not a journalist. You’re a foul mouthed troll. Guttersnipe”

My mother used to read the Daily mail . I can say with out hesitation that it is a Tory biased , gossip ridden, piece of shite . Its alternative health pieces are a paradise for the worried well
and the business section is occupied by three day old news pinched from anyone they can rob it from . A worthwhile read it is not . A paper for those who aspire to be snobs but will never quite make it ………it is .

I agree with wildrides. My mother’s cleaner always used to read the Mail whilst making out that somehow she was better bred than the person paying her wages. Nice to see their unknowingly ironic take on today’s Sun expose of the nazi salute videos (let us not forget that it was Lord Rothermere of the Mail that printed ‘Hurrah for the Blackshirts’ in 1934).
Whilst the Sun is clearly a sickening piece of crap todays story is a very interesting one given the explosive potential it would have had if revealed during the war. Incredible that award winning investigator Nicholas Witchell had not broken it sooner.

Can anyone remember when the Daily Mail last garnered any plaudits for outstanding journalism or an exclusive story?
In my opinion the Mail’s standards have shockingly declined. Seems to have become the mouthpiece for fear and bigotry with liberal doses of sensationalism. It’s pages are lined with articles of no originally or very little true journalistic merit.
It’s demise will not be missed.

I knew of a guy once who aspired to be a novelist. His first attempt was a story about a degenerate with something of a clinging wife who just didn’t understand him, whose son worked for The Daily Mail. Despite it being a steady job he (his son) wanted to quit and try his hand at writing paperbacks. This is going back a good few years, mind, so maybe it’s always been something of a joke.
