And so we have another of the occasional bearcasts. Drawn away from raspberries and the good news that Chapter 1 of the novel is completed, by the preposterous David Lenigas I comment on that but then also on why I am bearish on equities and then to what sort of stocks will collapse in a bear market. I also look at companies that claim to be drowning in cash yet have debts. The podcasts covers Jiasen, Globo, Avanti Communications, Audioboom and a few other matters.

Dear Tom,
In your own words ‘the sabbatical can be broken for one of three events’:-
1. the arrest of Rob Terry;
2. the suspension of trading in shares in Daniel Stewart; or
3. big China fraud news.
So… – Has Mr Terry been carted off by the Sweeney? NOPE – Has Daniel Stuart shares been suspended? NOPE – Is there any NEW big China fraud news? NOPE
And yet, here you are, on a weekend, STILL Bearcasting – all 27 minutes and 36 seconds of it (with really nothing much of anything to say…)
It really would be a lot simpler (and kinder to young Ben) if you just stop pretending about the faux sabbatical… ;)

I thought the bearcast made a valid point or too. Young flip flop is spending the day with his daughter. Pizza hardman Darren is still on vacation and thus I find myself minding the pizza place on its quietest day of the week. I had to open up at 10 am for a debating group who use the downstairs and so had a couple of hours to kill. why not do a bearcast and answer the comical tweets of Dave Lenigas. I had plenty of time to do that and to make progress with the book.
I think flip flop rather enjoyed spending the day with his kid. If you have bought ShareProphets Ltd and are in a position to dictate editorial policy please let me know & I shall quit at once. Otherwise…sod off.

What about the news of the day ? Desperate Dan is a former armed gangster and convicted ARMED bank robber . Robs from the poor ……… keeps it for himself ………. Broker man , Broker man . silly Dan.

Someone sent me the link to your podcast so thought I would listen…..pity it’s not on our platform here at Boom BTW, we could get you way more listens, than being on a foreign owned, pirate music site like SoundCloud;-)
Just wanted to point out that you got our business model a bit wrong. We are not driving to convert registered users to subscribers that would be madness while we are in user growth mode. Audioboom is a distributed media company with pre/post and in read ads in audio and video (indeed we have some great advertisers and brands that you could add to your podcast :-) )…… So this means that we make money by running ads in our embed players on sites, Twitter feeds and FB pages of partners such as: SkySports, AP, Cumulus…: in fact over 3k content partners ……. You can think of us as the Buzzfeed or the Perform of audio…..Not some run of the mill subscription service like Spotify, burning hundreds of millions per year……hope that helps mate…..Cheers Rob

Ok ……… we have had the doom and gloom . What of all the world mineables and drillables is going UP :-
Based on six month graphs the only things trending up recently are :-
Uranium
Natural Gas
Thermal coal
Colbalt
Some Iron ore types ( fines )
Potash
Ferro Vandium
EVERTHING else has fallen steeply since April 2015 apart from Gold ………. thats fallen steeply since mid 2011 (!) so keep on ramping shite Amanda ……. one day you will be right ………… one day .

With my limited knowledge of Boom, I was of the opinion that they were gaining advertisers to subscribe and cough up – and had no intention of charging users of the site.
Memo to self:
When clicking the awful Soundcloud must rewind to the beginning and not assume I’ll get up to speed with Tom’s commentary. Clicked volume-on after the broadcast had commenced with:
“I finished….my novel…”
and then heard -
“It’s a very short…”
- And immediately had a flashback to the Morecombe and Wise Show of yesterday where Ernie announces “I’ve written my play”
Eric enquires: “Oh, when did you write it?”
Ernie: “Did it in my tea-break this morning”
- But had no sooner smiled in reminiscence when Tom’s end sentence surfaced in my subconscious -
“It’s a very short first CHAPTER”.
So halted all – and went back and re-run the thing from the start.
