Afren’s (AFR) ex head of IR Simon Hawkins has just posted an amazing confession on LinkedIn which really begs the question who knew what and when about the corrupt management team. And have all the bad guys been named and shamed. If you have lost money prepare to explode with rage. Mr Hawkins writes:

Spot on. He should have quit at that point and gone to the authorities. But he did not. The six figure salary was just too good.
Where are the shareholders’ fucking beach houses?
This guy seeks sympathy now but is 100% morally bankrupt. When he next does IR I hope any journo/analyst will say “why should we believe a word you say when you help cover up fraud at afren?”

Would be great to see a “99% Club” post on Shareprophets showing and highlighting all the 99% drops on shares such as Afren. Highlighted here at investors who “lost their life savings and more”
If only to prove as a reminder to us all regarding the importance on diversification and the need for stop losses.

I am a personal investor in LSE / AIM markets for last 5 years. I have been following you for last two years, and I am genuine fan of you for all the work you which you do to expose wrongdoings. I carry huge respect for you for all your great work so far.
I do appreciate while doing so you put your life and personal finances at huge risk while facing these corporate heavyweights who have infinite resources at their disposal. However, I am little surprised why your reaction has been very different in Afren’s case. So far I have not seen much investigative efforts from your end to expose the likely wrongdoings. Is is due to reason that whatever has happened there is completely legal?
