They could just get the Beast of Bolsover to breathe on it for half his lifetime and they’d have a stash of diamonds they could flog to that most revered of Tiger Bay alumni Shirley Bassey! :-)
Got chatting to a few of his supporters (JC’s) over a drink or several at the Nottingham Playhouse a couple of weeks or so ago, by the way. Seemed a pleasant enough bunch despite my attempts to disrail them slightly by raising the spectre of TB (not the disease – although…), but I didn’t hang around for the main man.
