The flurry of recent filings by companies linked to Worthington/Craig Whyte/Aiden Earley and their puppet Doug Ware has thrown up what appears to be a killer revelation regarding the deliberate deception of investors and it concerns what was the only real asset of value that the Old Mother ever owned – the factory at Keighley in the welfare safari of West Yorkshire.

K.G. writes: I believe I have been a victim of financial wrongdoing. I and my solicitors have written twice to Chariot (UK), a company in which I have shares, expressing a wish to sell them, but have had NO RESPONSE.

ChariotUK plc launched an online lottery four years ago in an attempt to rival the National Lottery. It flopped, and in 2008 the company’s shares were first suspended from trading on the Alternative Investment Market and then completely delisted.
Instead of a multi-million pound plc, the business became a small limited company worth just over £300,000. The documents you sent me show that you hold 111,500 shares in Chariot UK.
You have not said when you bought them, but if it was at their peak, you have lost about £200,000.On the other hand, if you bought after the collapse but while the shares were still traded, you have lost only £166.
The directors who set up the failed lottery resigned and the business is now headed by AIDAN EARLEY, who stepped in last year. He shot to a sort of fame in the City more than 20 years ago when he set up an investment company soon after leaving school and then went bankrupt with debts of £1 million at the tender age of 22.
He tells me: ‘In an effort to keep costs to an absolute minimum, Chariot has no premises or employees’. Its current directors draw no pay and the company’s mail is taken in by a separate company, which says it has no record of your letters.
He says Chariot is LOOKING AT A POSSIBLE SMALL ACQUISITION AND SHAREHOLDERS WILL BE INFORMED IF THIS GOES AHEAD.
If it does, Earley hopes to arrange for the company’s shares to be TRADED AGAIN, possibly on a junior market in GERMANY. Meanwhile, the cost to you of buying a copy of the shareholder register so you can advertise your holding for sale would almost certainly exceed any offer you might attract.
