It looks like it has been leased to SAGA for a serene tour of the islands at max speed of 1 knot. Actually, if you zoom right in, it seems to be chugging backwards and forwards in a semi-circular path at super-slow speed as if it is lost but not too worried about it.

It is swinging round its anchor. Sometimes these swings are violent enough to trigger a departure alert – I got one this morning because I am a sad bastard, who has it in my fleet of ships I monitor.
Of more significance is Normand Vision – also in my fleet. She left Las Palmas in the Caneries bound for Lagos where she will arrive on 28 Jan:

“Ocean Installer has won a contact from Folawiyo Aje Services for offshore construction work at the Aje Ph1 project off the coast of Nigeria, the company’s first project offshore Nigeria.
The Norwegian subsea specialist says the scope of work includes mooring buoy installation and hook up, flowline and umbilical installation.
Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer, commented: “We are very pleased to have been awarded our second major contract in West Africa. This proves our Africa strategy is fruitful and allows us to further strengthen our foothold and develop our relationship with clients active in the region.”
The contracts starts with immediate effect, and offshore operations will be performed by CSV Normand Vision.
Folawiyo Aje Services functions as dedicated technical advisor to the field operator Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum. The Aje field is located in the Benin Basin, about 24km offshore of western Nigeria.”

Normand Vision’s work needs to be done first then Front Puffin is needed. There is no point sailing Front Puffin until she is needed. So she swings around her anchor until then.
Let’s not over play the significance of this. There has been a delay, which means there is also a delay in MXO having to find $1m to pay Cornhill. The significance is MXO failed to admit to the delay and brushed it away with the bland statements “also the expected near term commencement of oil production at the Aje field, offshore Nigeria.” and “the soon to be producing Aje field, which is expected to commence production this quarter.” It should have been last Quarter and it now looks like being towards the end of this Quarter.
I suspect the reason for the delay was the need to find a buyer for AFREN’s stake. Why they did not just say that and be clear on how long the delay is beyond me, they have not done themselves any favours with the announcement on Mon as the further decline in the SP today clearly shows.
