But now a swathe of morons are urging folks to block me...

There is a group on Twitter who have made a lot of money fleecing PIs by buying illiquid stocks with potential news flow then pumping up the liquidity by suckering in mug PIs with their continual pumping and false inside information. In the meantime they are selling, whist the price is pumped up to sometimes ridiculous valuations.
I don’t think we need to give them any more air time by naming them but I think we know who these market abusers are.
In the meantime keep up the good work Tom and if some morons want to block you for highlighting the pitfalls of playing with the dark underside of the market, then it’s their loss.

A couple of points I believe need clarifying from above.
1. MXO sp crash – Would the sp crash been so dramatic if you hadn’t published your piece on a proposed placing? Should market sensitive information, even if not ‘inside’ be published whilst such events are taking place? I would suggest such publications are unhelpful to shareholders, but helpful to people taking a short position in the company. So I can appreciate why shareholders would view your coverage unhelpful and take a negative view towards yourself.
A simple solution would be a suspension of company shares before the fundraising book is built. Aim shows us so often that inside information leaks very quickly and sp reacts accordingly. It’s usually the decent PI’s that take the financial hit in such situation. IMO your article hit decent investors too, although you may justify this by calling them morons?
2. I would suggest the majority of people looking to block you on twitter are simply doing so because you choose to publish a piece by BMD. Given the events of the past 12months re #SER, the pump & dump, You and BMD, the continuous war of words played out, some may see it hypocritical to give space to such individuals, and as such, struggle to take you, the site seriously?
3. Before you throw #freespeech at me as your reply, I would invite you to explore the reason why you declined to run an article from your pal Doc Holliday? He, IMO gave a very balanced view covering this topic, but was critical of yourself. The twitter campaign would be less powerful if you did give ‘free speech’ control, rather than censoring the bits that may not be so comfortable to accept. There are many on twitter that have supported your work up until now, maybe understanding why those are now turning their backs would be more constructive then simply labeling everybody a moron?

The criticism over MXO seems mis-guided. The Sp had already fallen to 1p by the time Tom announced that a 1p placing was underway. Likewise it was down at 0.65p (when Ben T was hoovering them up) when the details of the next placing level was revealed. To suggest that the 2p > 1p fall was the result of the article doesn’t match the reality of the timeline.
I full concur with the earlier comment that AIM should instigate the ASX suspension while hunting for cash rule.

Agreed. The fall from 2p -> 1p had nothing to do with TW and everything to do with the placing being leaked internally and blatant front running off the back of it. Trying to point the finger elsewhere just distracts from the real issue: blatant corruption coupled with total incompetence on the part of the MXO board. Why were the shares not suspended as soon as it became clear the placing had leaked?
TSX/ASX rules clearly make sense here.
