What’s your stance on TEA (Teathers)?
Effectively they were the alternative to PrimaryBid but it looks though their management have royally screwed up and will leave shareholders whistling in the wind. Seems as though they’re now distancing themselves from the situation as evidenced by the inability to resolve a simple stock feed.
I guess PrimaryBid are more reputable.

Whilst some BBM’s disagree, there is likely to be a placing by Shore Capital’s recent client Eden Research in the not too distant future – so it is not just decent companies whose placings PIs can now buy into.

I must be thick as i do not get this, you place a bid on a AIM share, that has not indicated it wants to raise money.
As we know AIM shares can open 50% down and do .

I was impressed by what seemed to be the integrity of finnCap after it ceased to be EDL’s broker after one of the most contemptible mates’ rates placings the year before last (replaced by Cantor Fitzgerald). That’s presuming it walked of its own volition.

Its quite simple ……… you buy shares in various AIM IPO / placings and lose a fortune in the first year or two after flotation ………. you sell your shares ……. I come along and buy them for practically nothing ……sit on them for a year and five bag . The broker gets rich ………. Thomas gets a modest intro commission and you transfer your capital to me ……… loverly Jubberly . Lots of beer tokens for me and less inheritance tax worries for you and your kids . You cant take it with you . If you want you can just send it direct to me and cut out the middle men ………Ta very much indeed. If that does not appeal …….. just dig a hole in the garden and tip your money in it , set light to it and burn the lot . You can then get on with your life without spending endless nights watching your share prices plummet day by day , your divorce will be over and done with years earlier and you will be poor but worry free .

There are a number of different ways PIs can take part in placings. All have their drawbacks and it is because of the insider trading rules.
The only way to do it properly is for the company to suspend trading, announce it is doing a fund raise, put full details of what it is trying to raise and why on its website and give the details of the broker to call / e-mail if you want to take part. Bucket shops would not be able to flip and if not enough real people want to invest, then the placing fails and the company has to announce the failure, unsuspend and the share price takes the consequences. It would be higher risk for the shit companies who are raising money “for working capital” but it would be fair and honest and would not create a whole load more middle men who take their cut.
