I totally agree with the article above. This has been exacerbated by “old school brokers” who genuinely tried to do the best for their clients being forced out by RDR and their roles taken by younger newly qualified investment advisers with no experience and maybe a little bit of greed as well.
Because of more expense and regulations many smaller investors no longer have advisers and now rely on websites (no disrespect intended) and are pushed in to fraudulent placings by pushy bucket shop brokers.

Naah ………… volatility at the bottom of AIM is caused by herd mentality in the new information age . Its just so easy to get like minded people to move and act as a group with Twitter etc as well as multiple blog sites and Boards . Humans are easily led . Twenty years ago with snail mail dominant and stock market coverage online non existent it was a whole different game for the non pro share trader . Now they have the advantage on the pros ………. multiple markets to go at , not legal ties , exit and entry fast and easy . Its all geared for a herd to operate as one in real time . Your just whining cos your old lifestyle has gone and your not comfortable in the new era where your power and control has slipped away .

They’ve mugged all the pensioners, now its a new generation who “know the game”, using “high net worth”, “sophisticated investors”, and twitter celeb bloggers to push their sweet looking sour candy.
They’ve moved out of the old world boiler room in to the new virtual boiler room of twitter/lse/advfn/sharepickers/popup blogs. But everyones “at it”.. Ramping, de-ramping, at home on their multi screen broardband terminals and DMA accounts.
Markets are corrupt at all levels, in both directions. Ask the 1% who own 99% of all wealth.
Its a casino, a rigged fruit machine, where you keep going untill the penny drops, then you lose that too.

Wildrides not at all whining. I feel a little knowledge is dangerous but it seems to be the little people being mugged off with these crappy stocks. It shows something is wrong when corporate brokers are demanding 10% from a company to be able to flog its shares on to the unsuspecting public. There has always been the herd mentality whether it is blue chips or AIM companies. Unfortunately the regulators are more concerned with fining the big banks to justify their existence rather than cracking down on frauds. I’ve heard of no punishment for the CEO of Globo who sold £15million of shares in the days before he admits the whole company is a fraud?!
Nearly everything is more transparent now and there are positives and negatives but generally I think it is a good thing. I just don’t like people losing money to fraudulent, lying companies/brokers who are only looking to line their own pockets instead of looking after the clients and this isn’t helped by the FCA’s lack of actions.
