Re your comments about Lawson. I agree with you but surely you should practice what you preach? Do you remember the abuse you dished out to Ben Harrington when he broke the story about S & G purchasing Quindells assets? IIRC you went to town on him and heaped scorn on his story which turned out to be true.
I haven’t seen you offer one word of apology to him despite the level of abuse you dumped on him in several bearcasts at around that time.

Ben Harrington was a market abuser.
“Seven types of behaviour can amount to market abuse – see below for more detail. The examples illustrate
the abusive behaviour the Code covers.
1. Insider dealing – when an insider deals, or tries to deal, on the basis of inside information. Improper
disclosure and misuse of information are kinds of insider dealing
2. Improper disclosure – where an insider improperly discloses inside information to another person.
6. Dissemination – giving out information that conveys a false or misleading impression about an
investment or the issuer of an investment where the person doing this knows the information to be
false or misleading.”
Obviously it is hard to know at the time which variety of market abuse is being committed. However Harrington is now a proven market abuser under type 2. Given the proven ridiculous nature of the SGH bid anyone could be forgiven for thinking at the time it was type 6 abuse.

Harrington is a journalist. His job is to break news stories and he specialises in M & A.
Would you accuse Tom of market abuse when he breaks stories about companies having placings underway? No, because Tom would come back with the same response.
All I am saying is that it’s a bit of double standards to expect an apology from Lawson for writing something on his blog when Tom hasn’t been big enough to apologise for the vitriol and abuse he heaped on Harrington at the time.

You are correct in post 2. Except that I did publicly state that Harrington had been correct. In that we should congratulate him and I do but for 1 thing alone – the S&G scoop.
What is hard is that his source was Rob Terry et al and in putting out spin for a fraudster is a tough ethical call. Personally I would not do it, He got hos scoop – for which I did publicly acknowledge him – but he had to lye with fleas. Personally I;m happy I got my multiple scoops (the frauds) and had no such compromise to make
