Breaking news and expert analysis on fast-moving AIM and LSE listed shares

I start with two matters from yesterday's Budget which I neglected to mention in my otherwise excellent post Budget podcast HERE. The I move not to Sirius Minerals (SXX), which I shall cover in a seperate article elsewhere following a chat with Chris Frazer which left me quite impressed, but to Sirius Petroleum (SRSP) which is a dog with fleas and whose placing today stinks. Then it is onto Wandisco (WAND), Gulf Keystone (GKP) - where are my fucking apologies from the morons? - Audioboom (BOOM), Challenger Acquisitions (CHAL) and the uber perma dog Sareum (SAR) before I engage in a lengthy discussion on Fitbug (FITB) another perma dog.

I’d be interested in your thoughts about the capping on the amount of debt interest that can be used to offset corporation tax. That is surely going to hit some overly indebted companies.
With the changes to BTL tax reliefs in the Autumn statement, which has by far the biggest affect on highly leveraged landlords, the direction of travel is becoming clear. GO is marching the most highly leveraged companies and individuals towards bankruptcy if they can’t bring their debts under control.
I’d also point out that the demographics in the UK are changing. By the 2025 election the biggest voting bloc will be aged 20-40. If they are expected to pay 60-70% of their income out in rent or house prices of 10x+ salary then they’ll vote for anybody who’ll turn the system upside down, even somebody to the left of Jeremy Corbyn. Assuming GO is planning on being in Government then, rather than being strung up by piano wire, he’ll have to do something .

Judging by the superficial sidebar announcement of Sirius Minerals’ “very impressive” DFS today, you boys are long this one. Just let me know if you want to understand why such a “very impressive” document crashed the SXX SP by almost 30% today.

Great Bearcast and good call on lighthouse. People on low pay rely on benefits. I work stacking shelves in a local supermarket on £7.20 an hour from April but that is my choice. Most people I work with rent the property and receive benefits and have never been able to buy shares. They work really hard and live month from month.They have no chance of saving £4k and a few am over 40 like me but never had a £1000 in the bank. They rely on the benefit system. They also do not use twitter. lol.:)
