Old jug ears got free shares in the fraud Quindell (QPP) as a reward for his role as "band ambassador" for the Ingenie outfit. That was the unit run by Richard King at whose lavish wedding in Somerset jug ears was best man. Lineker sold his shares netting at least £3 million so what to do with the cash? Give it all to charity? Naaaaaaaaah.
It appears that Gary has a liking for insurance and so has just invested in a company called Neos Ventures limited which is described as an insuretech business. It was established on 8 January this year but only really got going on 8 February with the appointment of five directors.
Of those, two, the Chief Digital officer and the Chief Information Officer both resigned on June 1st. It is all happening round at Neos which is based in uber expensive Hoxton Square very close to Silicon roundabout.
A tech start up racking up the fixed costs - what could possibly go wrong?
Anyhow, given the source of his insurance investment pool, perhaps we will not be wishing jug ears the best of luck with this particular speculation.
Never miss a story.
