The ShareProphets Sunday Pub Quiz #122 - Private Eye Dumb Britain Edition #2

This week’s quiz is based on the Dumb Britain column in Private Eye. One answer in each group is correct, one or more wrong answers are what someone actually answered on a quiz show.  You need to select the correct answer. (I tried a version where you need to guess what the contestant actually said but it wasn’t as fun.) No Googling!


TW Note. Question 6 is rather over simplified and I apologise for this slur on the State of Israel. Since I can’t edit the quiz, just go for the obvious answer anyway and, like Darren will now be required to do by his employer, book yourself in for an education lesson on the law in the most diverse and tolerant state in the Middle East. 


DBA note: Bring it up with ITV’s The Chase. Or Private Eye. I’m just re-printing the question as asked. Admittedly, it could be worded better but I think it is clear that it is referring to Israel’s Right To Return law, not bog standard citizenship.


TW Note 2.  The implication is that Muslims or Christians cannot be citizens of Israel. Au contraire. Whatever Private fucking Eye says. Folks born within 1948 boundaries have full rights, unlike Jews or Christians in almost every other Middle Eastern country bar Syria under the almost enlightened Assad family but not “the Moderates” supportered by dim Western leaders.  Indeed the crack troops in the Israeli army are Druze.
