Friday’s Football Gamble; United to finish above Liverpool & Arsenal and Lille to finish 2nd

By The Soccer Prophet | Friday 5 September 2014

I was a bit hasty last week. Having not selected Real Madrid in my season long multiples the week before, I was a little too quick to add Los Blancos to my selections last weekend. No sooner had I picked the team it promptly went down to a 2-4 defeat away at Real Sociedad. If you follow Spanish football you will know that Sociedad away is hardly a gimme, but the manner of Real’s defeat is troubling, with echoes of last season’s collapse in the final few rounds of games. Carlos Ancelotti will no doubt be grateful for the international break to take stock and figure out how his team threw away a 2-0 lead to suffer such a devastating defeat. I too need to take a little time to see where I stand on this league. So, for this week’s pick I have what could be a cracking double and it all centres on the move of Falcao to Manchester United.
