The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Continues To Hold $1900……..just!
Gold closed the week at $1924 – up a shade from last week’s $1919 but the rather more important thing for me was that it held the $1900 line (just) on Thursday. I sense that this is the battle line and if it holds it should provide a springboard for a push back towards the all-time high.- By Nigel Somerville |

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a buy idea that is too sordid for me to consider
I start with Russell Brand and Chile's most famous poet, I end with Sharestock. In between Doc Holliday, ECR Minerals (ECR), that sordid buy idea, why Id like to see more AIM Companies going bust and Bidstack (BIDS)- By Tom Winnifrith |

How bonkers will the Bank of England be later this week?
There are a number of interesting corporate names reporting here in the UK over the next week, but I am also “looking forward” to Thursday’s upcoming decision from the Bank of England. I say “looking forward”, because I think the BoE has lost the plot about its interest rate policy…- By Chris Bailey of Financial Orbit |

A wipeout for IOG equity holders seems the most likely outcome now - sell/avoid
IOG (IOG) is one of those natural resource companies that has found itself drowning in debt and with seemingly no way out that is likely to leave much, if any, value for current equity holders.- By Gary Newman |

I expect a strong performance from Afentra when the Angola deals complete later this year and it is one to watch
I know some private investors are frustrated with Afenta (AET) as it has spent more time in suspension than it has trading over the past couple of years since the acquisition of an asset in Angola was first announced, but I think people will be rewarded for their patience.- By Gary Newman |

Doc Holliday to run AIM listed ECR Minerals – you could not make this up
ECR Minerals (ECR) is almost out of cash, if it does not raise cash very soon by issuing new shares it will go bust. Look at the last results and even Stevie Wonder can see what a terrible mess it is in. This is not opinion it is fact. Spiv broker Novum Securities will need to be doing yet another deeply discounted placing PDQ to keep the lights on. But it gets worse, there are management changes.- By Tom Winnifrith |

A Word in your Shell-Like. It's Not too Late to Latch onto this Colossal Share Boomer.
Hello Share Rattlers. I’m a happy bunny. Because oil prices have risen for three weeks on the trot. This has pushed Shell (SHEL) shares to within a whisker of their all time high. So far this year, the stock has risen 9.55%. About 9.4% of that improvement registered in the last month. That’s jolly good going for a jumbo Footsie share.premium content

Just because you can buy a ticket from Trainline does not mean you need to buy the shares
I have been wholly uninspired by Trainline (TRN) shares since the IPO from the “leading independent rail and coach travel platform” back in 2019. The stock has been a bit of a dog over the last four years, although it is little changed from my grumpy update on it earlier this year in May. Is Trainline still an avoid for me?
