Polly Put the KETL on as Strix steams into the Tea and Coffee World
Hello Share Plungers. Why not make yourself a cuppa as we take a gander at Strix Group (KETL)? The clue is in the epic code. The firm may well have a link with the kettle you’ll use for your brew. When your kettle switches off as it reaches the right temperature, you may want to thank Strix.

Biome Technologies – argues ‘continued progress’, but what about non-bullshit earnings?
Writing on Biome Technologies (BIOM) following half-year results in September, I concluded with the shares at 230p that the apparent potential may see it considered worth a speculative punt from a £5.4 million market cap, but for me currently this remains on the watchlist. There is now a “Trading Update”…

Elektron Technology – “Trading Statement” says ‘ahead of expectations’… but what are they?
Having already risen from 7p as recently as May, shares in Elektron Technology (EKT) are currently smartly further higher towards 20p on the back of a “Trading Statement” including “the board now expects full year performance to be ahead of its previous expectations”. Sounds promising…

Video: Eric Sprott:Make no mistake… We are in a Resource Bull Market
The keynote speaker at the recent Palisade Capital conference was Eric Sprott, perhaps the world's best known investor in resource stocks. Eric reckons we are in a bull market. Well he would wouldn't he. Eric stresses that Gold holds it’s value, unlike fiat money. It’s hard at times to recognize that we are in fact in a bull market; however, we are as the TSXVenture Exchange has had an excellent rally over the past couple of years.

UPDATED: FCA launches probe into Telit - Sky! Telit says FCA has raised issues
Maybe the regulators are not utterly useless after all. Sky is this morning reporting that the FCA has launched a formal probe into Telit (TCM). It is ouzo O'Clock round at the Sheriff of AIM Towers!

4imprint – “Trading Update”… but how is bottom-line performance against expectations?
A “Trading Update” announcement from 4imprint (FOUR) concludes “the board expects that full-year revenue will be in line with market consensus, and that underlying operating profit margin percentage will remain broadly constant”. What does this mean for bottom-line performance against expectations then?...

Optibiotix – another major deal, this time for Slimbiome
A big deal with a real name and a serious player which will lead to material profits for Optibiotix (OPTI). What more could we lucky shareholders want? These deals are racking up and will clearly leave the company reporting profits in 2019 and very big profits the year after. That is not discounted in the share price, currently 74p to buy.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - it is fit young mums day!!
Just a short bearcast today as I had to rush off for my regular Thursday morning date with the Fit Young Mums. In today's podcast I talk about the IPO/RTO today of Sosandar (SOS) which we own shares in and I reveal the first of the celeb investors. Then it is onto Playtech (PTEC) and some wider thoughts on gambling regulation in the UK. Finally there is a look at Rosslyn Data (RDT) where - hat tip Roger Lawson - it is surely profits warning ahoy. I look back at the numerous Rosslyn red flags.

Buy Ariana at 1.3p - target 2.78p
Maybe the target is a but on the full side but this is the house broker Beaufort talking so it is clearly not impartial. Its mining analyst, Sheldon, is a sensible fellow and the nine page report on Ariana Resources (AAU) is comprehensive. Just to keep Nigel Somerville happy...

Having asked for readers tips for 2017 for the amazing prize of a meal with Tom Winnifrith (or the chance to fob it off on someone you don't like) HERE, the following is a monthly update on performance (to be eligible needed to have selected, on a per username basis, a buy & sell pick from the LSE or AIM Casino and the stocks not to have been suspended at the commencement of 2017)...

Zytonic's Share Fall Seems Unfair and Could Soon See A Bounce Back
Hello, Share Minders. There’s a strong tendency to sell shares on company reports, even when the news is not bad. ‘Buy on the rumour, sell on the fact’ is the well-known City adage. But the smarter investor will often buy, once the fall has all the signs of running out of steam.

Tesla: I don’t think the movie will have a Happy Ending
I wrote a while back that Tesla (TSLA - NASDAQ) would be a cracking short if and when its shares break down below $300. They didn’t quite make it, rebounding sharply from $308. But the rally looks like it has run out of steam and they are heading south again.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: rabbits white rabbits - am I wrong on Big Sofa?
Did you say "rabbits white rabbits" this morning? I always forget. I start with a run though of my Russia Today interview yesterday in case you missed it which you almost certainly did. But I hope Presidents Putin and Trump approved anyway. Then it is onto Big Sofa (BST) have I got it wrong? I look at Nighthawk (HAWK), Echo Energy (ECHO), Halosource (HALO) and then what the Next statement really means. And I have a few more words on Andalas (ADL) after this morning's shocker.

Proxama – from having “the right products” to sale of division in little more than 6 weeks!
In September Proxama (PROX) was emphasising “the board is now of the single view we have the right board and executive team, the right cost structure for both divisions, and the right products either in market or in development”. Today it “is pleased to announce the sale of its Digital Payments division”. You what?...

Andalas - what it did not flag up in yesterday's results: its 3 months from tits up time!
Yesterday I pointed out that Andalas Energy (ADL) was almost insolvent and that house broker Beaufort was in denial. But now let us turn to something which Nomad Cantor Fitzgerald somehow thought it apppropriate to omit. Sarah Wharry at Caantor you should be ashamed and if/when Andalas goes tits up you may well get sued just as your firm is over its negligence at the African Potash (AFPO) fraud.

Next - waxing and waning just like the UK economy
Back in mid-September I told you to take your trading profits on Next (NXT) at around fifty quid a share. Today's update highlights again that currently the only way to play even UK retail names with good market shares, decent balance sheets and a propensity to chuck out dividends and undertake share buybacks is with a trader's hat on.

Corero - 4th bit of "good news" since interims - look at the balance sheet it is placing ahoy!
Corero's (CNS) disastrous interims were just six weeks ago and since then we have had four pieces of good news announced with great, ramptastic, fanfare: two contract wins, a new partnership agreement and, today, a contract renewal. It can only mean one thing, this is the pump before the dump, it is placing ahoy. Just look at the historic numbers and do the maths...

Tern: This could implode quickly – time to get out now while you can
I saw that Tern (TERN) was one of the biggest fallers yesterday down almost 18% to 5.25p. However, having revisited the information related to the Device Authority funding, it seems to me that it could drop far lower than that and very quickly indeed as and when it becomes clear that Device Authority is a busted flush.

Boxhill Technologies: More shocking results – AIM Regulation and Allenby should be asking serious questions
Tom covered some of the “highlights” from the interim results of Boxhill Technologies (BOX) yesterday in his Bearcast (HERE) but a couple of points are worth reiterating and he missed the biggest red flag of all in my view, namely the £3 million owed by the former CEO, Phil Jackson. I trust Boxhill’s Nomad, Allenby, has asked all the necessary questions!
