Revolution Bars – trading statement argues “our vision and strategy to delight our guests across all our brands is delivering”. Er, is it?!

Revolution Bars Group (RBG) commences a “Pre-Close Statement” announcement with that it “is pleased to update on the year ended 2 July 2023 which is anticipated to be in line with market expectations”. Good news then?

NatWest’s £5m a year Alison Rose “resigned” with immediate effect – will she get a payoff?

Her position was untenable after she admitted – as I suggested was the case here – that she was the person who leaked to the BBC details of Nigel Farage’s bank account at Coutts and a claim that he was not targeted because of his political views. Many banking experts and media types have such Farage derangement syndrome that they defended Alison Rose the CEO of NatWest (NWG) the owner of Coutts. I disagree with Farage on much but what Rose and Coutts did was wrong. I could see the wood for the trees.

Tom is Sceptical but I believe this Jolly Green Pioneer Could Still Reward the Braver Investor

Hello Share Swingers. Uncle Tom has had another go at me, this time for supporting another denizen of his blacklist. And yes, Ceres Power (CWR) has taken a double whammy this week. The last one was yesterday when a rather dismal trading update was released.

Cohort – positive full-year results and expects further progress, Buy

Technology for defence and related markets company Cohort (CHRT) has announced results for its year ended 30th April 2023, noting a record performance slightly above market expectations and that it continues to expect its current year will be ahead of this. Sounds like good news with the shares currently up to a 490p offer price.
AFRN

Aferian – bailout placing to “provide adequate headroom over the group's banking covenants”. Er, still does it?

B2B video streaming technology company Aferian (AFRN) states that it is “pleased to announce the successful completion of the placing… raising gross proceeds of approximately US$4.0 million. The placing price of 12 pence per share represents a premium of approximately 20.0 per cent. to the closing middle market share price of 10 pence per share on 24 July 2023”. Good news then?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: NO! I did not say buy Optibiotix at 119p!

Optibiotix (OPTI) shares are now 32p and still cheap. How cheap? I will be doing a detailed piece with revised numbers within 48 hours. But first I respond to a bit of trolling. And I flag up who my next CEO guest is on the video show. Then I look at Trackwise (TWD), Wandisco (WAND) and Brighton Pier (PIER)

Brighton Pier Group – “trading statement”. Hopefully my prior caution on the outlook was heeded!

Previously writing on Brighton Palace Pier and other UK leisure and entertainment group Brighton Pier (PIER), in February with the shares falling to 61p I concluded I remained cautious of the outlook and continued to avoid. The shares most recently closed at 57p… and what of them currently heading towards 40p on the back of a “trading statement”?

Ceres power shares puking again on yet another lack of profits warning.. the scene at the Stacey residence

One can almost picture the scene at the house named after Saint Monbiot this morning as one shareholder started his day…

Why both my pension fund and I are passing on an ice cream from Unilever

What is your favourite Unilever (ULVR) product? Whilst some of you may mention Hellmann’sColman’sPercilDove or even Domestos, I guess the majority of people will say at least one of MagnumCarte D’OrBen & Jerry’s or Cornetto. And collectively, for a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business, it is always fantastic to have great brands. So, is it good or worrying news that this morning’s first half results from the company show less than 50% of its products are taking market share? And what does the new CEO think about all of this?

FireAngel – “with the net proceeds of last month's fundraising, we are confident for the future”. I’m currently not so for the group…

Previously writing on safety products group FireAngel Safety Technology (FA.), last month with the shares falling below its 5.05p per share fundraising price I concluded bearishly – desperate results, management change and fundraising... and still uncertainty?!. Today a “Trading Update and Directorate Change” announcement and what of the shares currently materially further lower at 3.25p?

WAND

Wandisco – shares relist and collapse by 96% and still a bargepole stock!

After a $30 million bailout fundraise at just 50p, shares in Wandisco (WAND), suspended at 1310p, have relisted, crashed and are now just 49p but I would not touch the stock with a bargepole and here is why.

BREAKING: Evil Banksta writes to the FCA regarding Cineworld’s listing and rule breaches

Evil Banksta is the sort of naïve chap who thinks that the FCA actually bothers implementing its own rules. If I had a bridge to sell I know who I’d be selling it to. He has again written to the FCA pointing out that the crack regulators are ignoring their own rules regarding Cineworld (CINE) in not suspending the shares at once for a failure to publish results. The credulous fellow writes in his own name:

BREAKING: Police Operation Cassady update - Eden Pharma organises its shareholders to sue City of London Police

Operation Cassady is a wide ranging and massive City of London Police operation into huge boiler room frauds where mug punters invested tens of millions into worthless companies. I helped the Fuzz with this as you can see HERE. The boss of one company under investigation, Eden Pharma - a duff POS I exposed HERE - has now hit back in the letter below.

Kromek – full-year results reckon “looks to the future with confidence”. What about still the financing uncertainty?

Describing itself as “a leading developer of radiation and bio-detection technology solutions for the advanced imaging and CBRN detection segments”, Kromek (KMK) has announced results for its year ended 30th April 2023 including “cash and cash equivalents at 30 April 2023 were £1.1m… Post year end, the group successfully concluded a placing, subscription and open offer which raised £7.4m net of fundraising costs… looks to the future with confidence”. So what of a current share price response down a few percent to below 5p?

Breaking: Audio Recording of the AGM from Hell, Doc Holliday vs disgraced Rod McIllree at More Acquisitions

Anyone who boasts of working with Seth Freedman and the convicted felon Nick Leeson, as Doc Holliday does in the recording below is, by definition, not a scholar and a gentleman. But then again Rod McIllree of BlueJay Mining (JAY) infamy is a total scallywag. Doc wants to call an EGM to oust Rod from More Acquisitions (TMOR) – and I back Doc as I explained HERE. The two went at it hammer and tongs at More’s AGM on 10th July as the recording below shows. Pour yourself a cold beer, get a bowl of popcorn and enjoy as it is fabulous stuff.

BREAKING: Who coined it in as Deepverge collapsed? Did Zak Mir collect any brown envelopes

From £70 million to nothing, as Deepverge (DVRG) awaits almost certain administration investors in this company will have lost everything. But did someone make a packet? I bring you below three tweets and an article by the Sith Lord Zak Mir of Lift Global Ventures (LFT). The article ( dated 7 February 2023) talks of a “tsunami of cash” being on its way to Deepverge. Hmmm.

Moneysupermarket.com continues to make progress...with the robots

Back in October 2021, I observed about Moneysupermarket.com (MONY) concluding that new deals from the “start saving serious money today” company were a-coming. And clearly, they are, including a bunch of new TV adverts over the last few months, along with a bunch of MoneySavingExpert and Quidco angles for all the cost savers (inevitably) out there. How did its first half numbers get on and what are its prospects for the rest of this year and beyond?
