People have a lot of choice when it comes to shopping brands, but Gen Z’s favorite brands may surprise you.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As The Fed Pivots

Gold ended the week at $2019 having explored below $2000 before the Fed announced its rate decision, which sparked a pivot party across US equity markets and Gold headed north. I said last week that we should know which way things are going after this week’s CPI numbers and the Fed meeting. Sadly I’m not so sure it is clear yet, but on balance it looks promising for Gold bulls.

Harcus Parker says 93% of voting Woodford victims were wrong to back FCA backed compensation scheme & it will fight to overturn it

The plebs do not know what they were voting for and did not understand the issues. No, not my pal the Euroloon Jonathan Price on the Brexit vote, but lawyers Harcus Parker on the FCA proposed compensation scheme for victims of Neil Woodford, which 93% of those voting have now supported.

Trafalgar Property – No-One-Is-Watching O’Clock Delayed Results Horror Show

AIM-listed property disaster outfit Trafalgar Property (TRAF) was suspended on 2nd October as it failed to produce its accounts on time. Last night, at 4.49pm on a Friday – no-one-is-watching o’clock – it snuck them out, along with interims to September. The company is technically insolvent and, frankly, I just don’t understand how the Auditor signed them off at all.

Cohort – interims and record order book confidence from this winning share tip

Defence and related products and services company Cohort (CHRT) has announced its results for its half-year ended 31st October 2023 and a “record closing order book of £353.9m (30 April 2023: £329.1m)… underpinning most of the second half of this financial year”. There seems good reason for confidence then.

Jubilee Metals – what to make of its placing?

Jubilee Metals (JLP) has announced an upsized to £13 million placing at 5.5p per share to enable maintaining the investment into the expansion of its existing copper and chrome operations with “fast-tracking” its new waste rock project. Good news or not?

My share tips of the year 2023 – as the last 2 weeks of the year approach update...

In December I offered up two share tips of the year for 2023. I previously wrote on these in an ‘as the last 2 months of the year approach update’. So where are they now as the last 2 weeks of the year approach?...

XLMedia – “change in the revenue profile of the group's North American activities”, not in a good way (natch!)…

Describing itself as “a leading global digital media company”, XLMedia (XLM) has issued a “pre-close trading update” including noting “the withdrawal of the Barstool brand (a major partner for XLMedia), from the market and the subsequent launch of ESPNbet has resulted in a significant change in the revenue profile of the group's North American activities”. A current approaching 12% lower share price at 6.5p suggests that’s not a revenue profile change in a good way.

Supply@ME Capital and a clear case of market abuse as my name is taken in vain

If the FCA’s crack staffers want to take time off from shitting on the floor and jerking off on ESG porn and to nail some slam dunk 100% market abuse, here is its chance.

Getech – demand for the company's services and data “is increasing”. Is it though?…

Emphasising it has “world-leading geoscience data and unique geospatial software products to accelerate the energy transition”, Getech Group (GTC) states that it provides a “trading update for the financial year ending on 31 December 2023, outlining the current trends both positive and negative which are expected to be reflected in the company's trading performance for the year”. The shares have currently responded more than 20% lower towards 5.5p, so much more negative trends than positive to be reflected in the trading performance?

Why I am happy to keep on avoiding C(r)apita

Capita (CPI) may have been a marvellous performer between the early 1990s and the mid-2010s, but the “leading provider of business process services, driven by data, technology and people” has had a shocker since. Still, at least its pre-close update on Thursday could mention a “positive operational performance across both divisions”. Is there any share price recovery hope for 2024 after a further 80% share price dump over the last five years?

Barkby – Acquisition Announced But Where Is The General Meeting Circular?

AIM-listed dog Barkby Group (BARK, geddit?) slipped out a notice of general meeting after hours on Wednesday at 5.39pm – no-one-is-watching o’clock. Clearly the company and its advisers don’t want shareholders to know about it! Worse still, the GM is to be held on 29th December – in the middle of the Christmas break - in a trading estate near Didcot in Oxfordshire: they don’t want shareholders there at all!

RWS Holdings – full-year results, still a recovery Buy

Language, content and intellectual property services company RWS Holdings (RWS) has announced results for its year ended 30th September 2023, including a dividend increase despite “a challenging market environment”.

My short of the year is still a short: Petrofac shares will collapse, possibly by Wednesday

I picked this as my short for the year on the basis that Cineworld (CINE) was (a) too easy, and (b) not a 100% loss as the borrow rate at the start of the year was an exorbitant 80%!

RegTech Open Project – potential £50 million goodwill write off in results and another material error in an Alessandro Zamboni Prospectus

If RegTech Open Project Plc (RTOP) survives until it publishes its first set of results for the period to 31 December 2023 (that is assuming that Alessandro Zamboni companies manage to provide the working capital promised on two previous occasions on which it is reliant to continue trading) it should be reporting losses of more than £50 million.

Braemar – a recovery Buy?...

Shares in company describing itself as “a leading provider of expert investment, chartering and risk management advice to the shipping and energy markets”, Braemar (BMS) had recovered to above 300p as recently as June this year and reached 340p last year, before in July this year the shares were suspended on an investigation of a historical transaction. They though returned from suspension last month and we suggest now have further recovery potential from a 280p offer price.

RM plc – “pleased to provide” trading update. How ‘pleasing’ is it?…

Describing itself as “a leading global educational technology, digital learning and assessment solution provider”, RM plc (RM.) states that it “is pleased to provide an update on the company's anticipated results for the year ended 30 November 2023 and progress of the Consortium business closure”. How ‘pleasing’ is the update, with the shares currently at 56p in response?
