Gresham Technologies – to exit IT contracting services after customer “consultation… and in line with the group's strategy”. Or is it?…

‘Data integrity and control, banking integration, payments and cash management’ software and services company Gresham Technologies (GHT) states that it “is pleased to provide an update on trading and the discontinuation of its legacy IT contracting services business”. Why then are the shares currently 13.5% lower at 119p in response?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - is Verditek going bust? Mr. Market thinks so and so do I

In this podcast I discuss the damascene conversion of the Mrs on a couple of issues and I say "thank you" to those donating to Woodlarks on the Christmas grotto appeal. We are now almost 75% of the way to target so if you can spare a fiver ( or more) please do so today HERE. I look at Verditek (VDTK), Tern (TERN), Red Rock Resources (RRR), mention Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX), Cellular Goods (CBX) and have a look at Parkmead (PMG) where i am not convinced that Peter Brailey is right to be just so bearish.

UPDFATED: Has Andrew Bell’s Red Rock used fake photos to support its claims? He says no

I am afraid that this looks very bad for my friend Mr Bell but apparently he is innocent. The first tweet below is from Red Rock Resources (RRR) twitter account.

Technology Minerals, the Chris Cleverly backed POS and a warrant extension that stinks

As Chris Cleverly’s Tingo (US:TIO) fraud collapses in the US and he waits to see whether the SEC feels his collar as it should, back here in the UK there is news from Technology Minerals (TM1) a company inextricably linked to the stench of Lyin’ Chris. Its survival depends on the FCA approving an RTO prospectus, something any sane regulator would refuse to do.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: I am angry about the Skinbiotherapeutics placing, I am furious with greedy Stuart Ashman but am going in for open offer

In this bonus Bearcast, I explain why I am cutting my target price materially for Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) but still see this as a potential five bagger. I am furious with Stuart Ashman who is greedy and has not delivered. And I think the company's broker, Cavendish, has a lot of questions to answer. I warn you that Matthew's Dog and Catriona will love this podcast.

LPA Group – “year-end trading update”: BUY

Electronic and electro-mechanical components and systems group LPA (LPA) has issued a trading update emphasising that it “delivered strong trading in H2” and that “further progress is expected”, including it intending to restore a dividend for the year and beyond. Good news, and what of the shares currently up to 83p to buy in response?

Valereum another body blow in Gibraltar, just shut this POS down

Shares in Aquis listed Valereum (VLRM) remain suspended on the Aquis lobster pot at just 3.85p. Founder Richard Poulden has scuttled away and the former rampers in chief David Lenigas and brown envelope man Zak Mir who told us the shares would hit either 100p or 200p have gone strangely silent. The company is technically insolvent. Today another body blow…

Should my pension fund get all chavtastic and buy Burberry shares again? YES!

Undoubtedly you have read over the last twenty-four hours that, “Burberry (BRBY) shares plunged 9% on Thursday after the British luxury fashion retailer warned that full-year operating profit will come in at the low end of forecasts amid a global slowdown in luxury spending”. And more deeply, Burberry reported that comparable store sales growth slowed to just 1%, down from 18% in the previous quarter, “as momentum in China fizzled out”. Is it time for me to get all chavtastic again and buy back into luxury goods company?

Billington – trading ‘ahead of market expectations’, looks further share price upside ahead

Structural steel and construction safety company Billington (BILN) has announced that trading has continued to be strong across the business and that it “now expects revenue and profit before tax for the year ending 31 December 2023 to be ahead of previous market expectations”. What of this good news currently sparking the shares up to 350p?

The fraud Tingo - I'm expecting a payout by Christmas

As things stand the suspension of trading in Tingo's (US:TIO) shares announced by the SEC on 14th November under Section 12(k) of the Securities Exchange Act 1934, is for ten trading days only so will expire on 28th Nov. However...

AMTE Power – bailout funding agreements… but “conditional” and for how long?…

AMTE Power (AMTE) has issued a “Proposed subscription, placing and convertible loan facility”-titled announcement, with CEO Alan Hollis “delighted to receive the continued support from both our existing and new shareholders”. So what’s this “delighted to receive” support?

Andrew Bell: don't be an idiot!

I am, as you know, a loyal shareholder in Red Rock Resources (RRR). I am well out of the money and retain my shares merely to remind myself of my own folly. Anyhow, CEO Andrew Bell seems to be making an arse of himself on the LSE Asylum.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: How do you fancy coming to Ethiopia? said 'arry Adams

In today's Bearcast I discuss Jaya's birthday and the Woodlarks Christmas appeal. Please donate to that HERE. Come on you can all afford a fiver can you not? Then it is onto Hotel Chocolate (HOTC), Celadon Pharmaceuticals (CER) - still a short - Verditek (VDTK) , Canadian Overseas (COPL) and Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI).

Marks Electrical Group – argues “strong first half trading period”, er what about the profit and forecast falls?!

Previously writing on UK online electrical retailer Marks Electrical Group (MRK), last month I concluded that a trading update headlined “Continued trading momentum driven by premium next-day service offerings” was not what it seemed with the shares down to 103p. What then of the results for the six months ended 30th September 2023 with the same headline and the shares currently further down to 90p?

D4t4 Solutions – now again a BUY!

In August we banked gains on data solutions technology company D4t4 Solutions (D4T4) - now soon to change its name to Celebrus Technologies, with Celebrus the name of its flagship data product suite - with the shares having risen above 190p. We though noted further trading delivery would suggest a return to a 240p+ share price is quite realistic but noted contracts delay risk. However, there was recently a reassuring trading update from the company yet the shares were still available at a 170p offer price.

Canadian Overseas forgive my delay, it is still going bust!

Yesterday saw Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL) issue, via RNS, abridged results for the 3 months to 30 September 2023 and naturally the abridged RNS missed out juicy bits such as a warning that it would, ceteris paribus, go bust within a year. The full SEDAR filing has the missing bits and is a hoot.

City Pub Group – “pleased to announce” recommended offer, but about that stated “premium”…

City Pub Group (CPC) is “pleased to announce” that it has agreed a recommended offer from Young & Co.'s Brewery (YNGA) with “a total implied value of 145 pence per City Pubs share… approximately £162 million”, including that it considers “the cash certainty and ongoing exposure to the combined group provided by the transaction… provide City Pubs shareholders with a significant acceleration to potential value creation”. What of this?

Horizonte Minerals, Sasha Sethi at Flowcomms and the question of insider dealing

It is suggested to me that before the October 2 announcement of a $188 million black hole at Horizonte Minerals (HZM) there was insider dealing or at least an illegal leak of information. I do not think there was but there are things that make me uneasy.

Amigo – some bears are on the pitch, they think it’s all over…

It is not quite all over but it is near as damn it. The financial masochists at Craven House Capital and associated punters, who were considering an RTO of failed loan shark Amigo (AMGO) appear to have realized that their plans were insane and would be just to much of a self-inflicted punishment beating and have withdrawn. Oh dear.

What a premium! Mars makes an agreed cash offer for Hotel Chocolat...

I was going to write about Burberry (BRBY) shares today and whether, after selling out at a nice profit a while back, it was time to go back in again (or not). I will leave that one for tomorrow (or the weekend), as I have to say something about events at Hotel Chocolat (HOTC) announced this morning.
