Podcast: Dominic Frisby: Bullish on Gold When It Breaks 1360

I accuse Dom Frisby of using a very old photo on this occassion. How do you plead Frizzers? This podcast with the great libertarian and gold guru is nothing if not wide-ranging.

Bonmarche – cash offer, so was I wrong?...

Last month I concluded on women's clothing and accessories retailer Bonmarche (BON) that its bank facility “expected to be sufficient to meet liquidity requirements” in conjunction with the noted severe trading deterioration in just a matter of months continues to make this uninvestable to me. Avoid / sell. Today a cash offer for the company from Edinburgh Woollen Mill owner Philip Day (via Spectre Holdings Limited). So was I wrong?...

PANR

8 days is a long time in the history of Pantheon Resources...oh dear, oh dear

Eight days ago Pantheon Resources (PANR) issed an RNS proclaiming a "successful flow test" of the Alkaid well. Its shares zoomed. Today we have an "update." Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear. The shares have slumped by 27% to 20.5p and I suspect that initial reaction is way too generous.

Workspace's CEO exits...just as you should be doing with the stock

I hope many of you enjoyed the UK Investor Show last Saturday. Some of you may even have seen my interview with commercial property investor Nick Leslau where we batted around some of the key issues impacting the sector as well as the retail space and related matters such as Brexit. Nick's steer to private investors listening was very clear: be very careful in the space. I was thinking about some of his comments when I saw today's announcement from Workspace (WKP), which I have written about a couple of times before (most recently HERE)…

Update on Versarien and its shocking new American Appointment

Since I last wrote about Versarien (VRS) in November last year the stock had fallen around 20% until yesterday when it ripped 20p on news that it had completed the US-based Graphene Council’s “Verified graphene producer” programme. This gives it a market cap of £187 million. That is a lot of hope value for an enterprise that seems to do little more than announce vague MOUs with various named, and more often unnamed, entities...

Chris Ronnie, is my MRS troll THE convicted fraudster or worse...

As you can see below, I am being attacked on twitter by someone purporting to be a shareholder in tecnically insolvent, red flag strewn, Management Resource Solutions (MRS). Is my troll really a convicted AIM fraudster?

Food Glorious Food Will Rally Greencore Shares if Brexit Fears Prove Groundless

Hello, Share Pickers. If you are one of those investors who still believe that the Brexit mess will have a nasty effect on share prices, the company I look at today may not appeal to you very much. I - and several speakers at the Global Group UK Investor Show - though don’t think Brexit will make much difference in the longer run...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Scoop central - the heroin dealer, the pot play & the blockchain company & Big Sofa and Levis

There is a real spring in my step as I consider a new business idea and as the scoops just flow in. I start with Argo Blockchain (ARB), the pot plan and  the convicted heroin dealer. Then I out Big Sofa's (BST) new customer. I look at Cabot Energy (CAB) as it dissembles again. I pick a fight with the man Gary Newman thinks is a genius, Andrew Monk, over RedT Energy (RED) and then look at the shock placing by Independent Oil & Gas (IOG) and where that leaves Rock Rose (RRE). Fleet Street Legend Brian Basham writes to Amber Rudd MP demanding her local and national party repays stolen cash

76 year old Fleet Street Legend Brian Basham is one of the rogue bloggers walking for Woodlarks this year. At his age that is impressive and is something you should sponsor here. Basham was also an ace spin doctor in his time (notably for Mo Al Fayed) and is enraged at the way Simon Hume Kendall has stolen cash from the victims of the LCF ponzi, mostly pensioners like Brian, and has donated £65,000 to Amber Rudd’s local party and to Tory central office. Basham has written to Ms Rudd and his letter follows:

2019 UK Investor Show ‘Dragon’s Den’ – where has £9,000 been invested?

The great success that was the 2019 Global Group UK Investor Show saw three 'Dragon's Den' sessions where a number of CEOs each gave a 1 minute (well, supposed to be!) pitch and three 'Dragons' at each session each picked a stock for a £1,000 investment. These have now been purchased, so what were the picks (& can 12 year-old Leela show the other dragons how intelligent investing is done these days)?...

Veltyco – directors provide bailout loans… but what about after more than a few more months?

“Veltyco Group plc (AIM: VLTY), the online marketing company for the gaming industry, announces that it has entered into separate loan agreements with three of its directors, being Paul Duffen, Marcel Noordeloos and Mark Rosman, pursuant to which each director will provide a loan of €166,667 to the company”. ‘Keep-the-lights-on’ funding then… and for how long?...

Low & Bonar – warns on current trading, ‘expects improving trend during remainder of year’ BUT…

Announcing a £54 million equity raise at 15p per share towards the end of January, Low & Bonar (LWB) emphasised “a number of key strategic initiatives to drive sustainable improvement in the group's performance and financial position were implemented during Financial Year 2018. Progress has been made in all of these areas… Further initiatives will be implemented during Financial Year 2019 and the board is confident that these actions will build a stronger business and one capable of delivering sustainable growth and attractive, sustainable returns”. Today a “Trading Update”

Bowleven – interims, while we wait……

AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN), my buy tip for 2018, has announced its interim results to December 2018. The bad news of that it hasn’t been bought and nor has the Etinde asset off Cameroon - we have a more waiting to do. On the other hand, with a 15p per share special dividend already in the bag, the waiting hasn’t been too painful, even if the shares are down a bit.

BREAKING: Now Illumina sues Yourgene Rival – Great News

In its dark days as Premaitha (NIPT), this company was dogged by bully boy US giant Illumina which tried to put it out of business with a claim for patent infringement. New boss Lynn Rees not only sorted that out but as part of the deal, entered a partnership with Illumina. Now the bully boys are on our side.

Management Resource Solutions – an open letter to Nomad Arden: suspend the shares NOW!

During the weekend in three separate articles I have detailed what an insolvent can of worms is AIM Cesspit listed Management Resource Solutions (MRS) and asked questions that need answering about its latest £1.32 million all share acquisition. The company has failed to answer the matters raised and its shares have plunged another 25.4% to 2.35p today. I have thus written to Nomad Arden demanding that it suspend trading in the shares at once and why. The letter is below.
