Proton Beams to Neil Woodford’s rescue – nope this is just another spoof c/o deadwood press cocksuckers
The Sunday Times “reveals” ( i.e. is told by Neil Woodford’s PR spinners) that his Proton Partners , proton beam centre operator, is planning a £320 million IPO and hoping to raise £50 million on, o-f all places, the NEX Lobster pot. This is a spoof but the deadwood press ( step forward Peter Evans and Sabah Meddings) are happy to assist the great one.

Wildes was correct about this stock...but i'm going to double up my position to prove him wrong
I do not think it is too controversial to observe that on 90%+ of issues our former in house 'bulletin board loon' Wildes - who used to be not shy of posting a view or ten in the comments section on many articles - was way off the mark. However I have to give the old loon a hat tip on the specific issue of ConvaTec (CTEC) which I posted on a year ago and on which Wildes prophetically observed I was talking sh1t quite literally.

I was looking at our web stats and noticed that not a lot of people use ShareProphets' archive, at least compared to the new articles. So I'd like to highlight it.

Podcast: The Long Term Gold Chart is Really Exciting
As you know, Jordan Roy Byrne is the only technical analyst we take seriously ( sorry Sith Lord Zak Mir). As such we note that Jordan points out that the signs are close for declaring a new bull market in gold. The indicators are all showing positive. Both GDX and GDXJ have surged in their long term moving averages. We still need to rally up to the resistance levels but we are so close and the evidence is mounting. Lastly, he is looking for the ratio of gold compared to the stock markets to rise which is a classic bull market sign. All this is explained in the latest podcast from Palisade Capital.

A final word from myself & Steve O’Hara on Thirsty Paul Scott’s attempted hatchet job on Optibiotix
Thirsty Paul Scott was so flamed by some of his readers for his hatchet job on Optibiotix (OPTI) , littered, as it was, with false statements that he announced he would not be penning a column on Friday as he was, alongside thousands of school kids worried about global warming, going on strike. The difference between those withdrawing their labour on Friday is that the kids will, one day, grow up and most of the teenagers already produce work that is far less error strewn than that of the Thirsty one.

Weekly Insight: Tipster Scrutiny on TUI, GSK and Barratt
Travel operators TUI AG (TUI) and Thomas Cook Group (TCG) both featured in the top five most frequently tipped companies over the last seven days in a busy week for trading updates. Homebuilders Barratt Developments (BDEV) and RedRow (RDW) also received an influx of tips after both released interim results, while there was increased tip activity for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Smith & Nephew (SN.).

Interserve – slips again on FT comment and still a slam-dunk sell, now a very plausible zero
Shares in my Christmas (sell) tip, fully-listed Interserve (IRV), slipped again yesterday after an article in the FT (see HERE) pointed to the stand-off between the company and its largest shareholder, which wants to derail the debt-for-equity swap proposed by the company’s management. The problem is that the company owes £66 million of overdue payments to the banks, which could force the company into liquidation.

The strange case of NEX-listed Sport Capital Group and Palermo FC (of Italian Serie B)
NEX-listed Sport Capital Group plc (SCG) used to be known as failed miner Pelican House Mining, also of the NEX province. Following a general meeting in January 2019, the name change was effected, alongside a placing to bring in Eight Capital, and Peterhouse Capital turned up with 4.72%. But since there was hardly a bean in the bank, it might be a little surprising to see that on 17 January it had bought Italian football club Palermo, of Serie B, for a nominal sum.

What's your Overall Policy Now that Brexit's on the Doorstep? Cash or Shares?
Hello Share Trudgers. Let’s try and bring common sense to private share trading in these difficult times. One way of proceeding is to buy Footsie giants, rather than tiddlers. This is because many jumbos do the majority of their business outside the European union. Also, the bigger firms are more likely to have enough resource to act as a buffer if a no-deal Brexit causes chaos for a time.

NetScientific – “Conclusion of Strategic Review” does indeed look more Neil Woodford disaster vicar
Writing last month on NetScientific (NSCI), it was zero potential offerors; more Neil Woodford disaster vicar? – that following an announcement that, despite having stated it was undertaking a strategic review as “the board believes that the market is undervaluing NetScientific's portfolio”, it continued to not be in receipt of any approaches and, “not aware of any parties who might now make such an approach or initiate such discussions… the company confirms that it has closed the formal sale process”. Now a “Conclusion of Strategic Review” announcement…

Major blow to Edenville Energy's coal-to-power plans
All that Edenville Energy (EDL) seems to have managed to achieve over the years is to burn through cash at a rate of knots whilst failing to deliver anything for shareholders other than a steady and prolonged decrease in the share price. I can remember even back in 2010/11 when this company was being promoted as having huge potential, along with all the other rubbish that you tend to hear spouted about these small AIM resource outfits across the bulletin boards...

Argo Blockchain: Richard Jennings says it is like being paid £10 to hand over a fiver but I think he's talking bollocks
I am a shareholder in the disaster that is Argo Blockchain (ARB) thanks, I think, to Richard Jennings of Align who suggested I back the IPO. Richard is a bull after today's news but as I explain in bearcast HERE I am not and think he is talking bollocks. But in the interests of balance here is what Richard has to say:

RBS gives its shareholders both profit and dividend horn
It is a good job that Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has started to pay a dividend (3.5p full year and a 7.5p special equating to 11p per share or c. a 4.5% yield) because my June love-up would have left any investors over the last eight or so months with basically no capital gain. I guess it could have been worse and today's full year 2018 numbers have shown some real year-on-year progress...
