Xeros Results tomorrow – share price tells you that this Woodford dog is almost out of cash ( again)

No doubt Cynical Bear who has called Xeros Technology (XSG) superbly, as a sell, will be a smug fellow tomorrow as this Neil Woodford Dog announces its interim results. The share price action is telling you that folks already know the worst – shareholders have to bail it out again or it will be going down well before the Christmas decorations go up.

Dunelm - the frilly curtains bounceback continues

It is not new news that the retail backdrop is challenging but the last time I mentioned homewares and related company Dunelm (DNLM) I confirmed that despite my continued inability to buy anything from one of its emporiums, I was loving the shares up.

TrakM8 AGM – another day another profits warning on the way

My long term bearishness about TrakM8 (TRAK) a company that issues misleading RNS’s, makes ludicrous acquisitions as it racks up its debts and never translates profits (a matter of opinion) into cash (a matter of fact, unless you are an AIM China fraud) is well documented here.  Of course,  Thirsty Paul Scott had cosy chats with the management and knew better than a "nutcase of the first order". Today the shares have tanked to a new multi year low after another dire statement.

TENG

Ten Lifestyle Group – revenue “in line” with, & cash “ahead of”, expectations. BUT…

“Ten Lifestyle Group plc (AIM: TENG), a leading technology-enabled lifestyle and travel platform for the world's wealthy and mass affluent, provides an update on trading activities ahead of the company's full year results for the twelve months ended 31 August 2018. The board expects net revenues for the financial year to be in line with market expectations”. Er, ok – what about bottom-line performance?...

Should Wide Spreads Make You Delay Selling? Aye, There's the Rub

Hello, Share Scrapers. Let’s air a few thoughts on the vexed question of the difference between selling or buying shares and the average price we see on our screens - the spread. The width of some spreads can put us off selling at a time we really want to sell - and that’s a dangerous choice to face.

Debenhams – when is a downgrade not a downgrade? When PR spinners Brunswick do Satan’s work

After a share price slump yesterday on media speculation of widespread store closures and other nasties, Debenhams (DEB) has had to put out a trading statement and its use of language shows evil PR spinners Brunswick earning their fat fees as they do Satan’s work, dressing up a profits warning as nothing of the sort.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Roger Lawson says the mainstream press thinks TW is a "nutcase of the first order"

I start with a reflection on 9/11 and the Orwellian claims to be fighting terror as discussed in more detail HERE. Then it is onto Roger Lawson of ShareSoc and his claims of how the mainstream press view me. Heck if they really thought that why do they keep lifting our stories and running them as their own work? Whatever. I regard the MSM as part of the problem of stockmarket corruption and not the solution and explain why. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Toople (TOOP), Oneview (ONEV) and a real problem with Nomad resignations on the AIM Casino, Frontera (FRR) and Online Blockchain (OBC) where directors really need to Show Me The Money or the shares will carry on sliding.

TOOP

Toople – shows contempt for ordinary investors with “delighted to announce” placing

“Major Contract Win” announcement from Toople (TOOP) on 29th August followed the prior week “contract win demonstrates that Toople is excellently placed” and saw the shares soar to more than 0.92p. I warned with an attempted bailout financing looking on the horizon, sell / avoid, and the shares had settled somewhat around 0.75p before a now “Proposed placing to raise £2.2 million”

Haydale – batten down the hatches: discounted placing imminent!

AIM-listed graphene play Haydale (HAYD) announced a Contract Updates % Notice of Results RNS this morning. Don’t be fooled: there’s a placing coming and the updates are a tad over-dressed to help.

When you think the law fails you it is time to take it into your own hands - Big Dave Lenigas is...Charles Bronson

Having failed to ramp shares in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) on the back of its utterly misleading RNS yesterday, an episode discussed at length here, Big Dave Lenigas tried to deflect attention by launching an amazing twitter rant at anti drilling protesters at Horse Hill. It started off as only semi-Musk but by the end, as you can see below, it was alarming.

I would continue to avoid Koovs until it proves that it can turn the business around

I came in for a fair bit of criticism when I covered Indian fashion retailer Koovs (KOOV) negatively and suggested it was a sell or avoid back at the start of July. Since then the share price has pretty much halved from the 20p level that it was trading at, so I feel that my criticism of the company was justified, and my view has been vindicated – hopefully some of you who have read my articles and were holding at the time also saved yourselves from seeing the value of your investment halve. A number of people have been asking me what my view is of the company now that the share price has dropped back to around 10.6p to buy, so I felt that it was time to take another look.

This Niche Company Does the Appliance of Science and Could Be Worth a Look

Hello Share Chunkers. Sometimes it pays to look at companies which seem to do what few other outfits provide. In other words, a niche company. There’s a perception that niche firms need to be small. But that’s not so with today’s choice for your further consideration.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: More shameless ramping & sordid Leni-maths from Horse Hill & UK Oil & Gas - the real numbers don't stack up

Below you will find shameless ramping on twitter from David Lenigas and also a link to BMD's take on the latest shameful RNS from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) on the "Gatwick Gusher." The language used in the RNS is misleading and what is served up offers no evidence at all that the shares are not grotesquely over-valued. Only a sordid festering boil on the side of AIM such as Nomad Roland "fatty" Cornish could have signed off on this tripe. There is lso a clear signal of m ore discount placings ahead with the appointment of bucket shop spivs Novum as co-broker. that means just one thing. All is explained in this bonus bearcast as I look at the real data offered not the Leni-maths.

Is AIM in a bear market?

I see that another three AIM companies ended their membership of the Casino this morning, namely Dalradian Resources (DALR), Zamano (ZMNO) and Weatherly International (WTI). On the one hand I keep hearing how AIM is outperforming the main market (something of a turnaround, at long last – and for the cynical perhaps a sign that the bull run is coming to an end!) but I keep seeing departures. AIM may have outperformed the main market, but I wonder for how long given the mad exuberance of shareholders in the likes of Frontera (FRR), UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) and Tern (TERN). And, as I discovered this morning, the number of companies listed on AIM still seems to be falling away markedly.

UP Global Sourcing – order book ahead, so why no meaningful share price recovery?

BeldrayIntempoSalterConstellation and Progress consumer goods brands company UP Global Sourcing (UPGS) has updated on its year ended 31st July 2018 and on current trading and outlook, including “the FY19 order book is ahead of this time last year”. Why only a slight share price recovery, to currently still sub 33p, then?...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Malcolm Stacey you are stark raving mad

In today's bearcast I look at Vela (VELA), Debenhams (DEB), Nakama (NAK) and why Malcolm Stacey's bullishness on the house builders is a sign of madness, I think I need to send the old boy on a holiday to reflect. Yields of 8%, 9% and 10% for a sector tell you that what lies ahead is very bad news indeed, including, almost certainly, dividend cuts.

Don't panic about the FTSE 100 being at a five-month low (part two)

In part one yesterday, I talked about some of the complexities around the FTSE 100 today...but finished the piece by promising some stock picks. Before I get into these I have to highlight Nigel's piece yesterday, which absolutely nails the opportunities around names such as BT Group (BT.A), Centrica (CNA) and ITV (ITV).
