I start with communications received by email and twitter. I sense attempted entrapment by shareholders in the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME). Then it is onto a speech by Debbie Gupta of the FCA and her failure to understand why her organisation is not fit for purpose. Then to Nightcap (NGHT), Petra Diamonds (PDL), Mountfield (MOGP), Skibiotherapeutics (SBTX) and me being fat as described here.

Petra Diamonds (PDL) is one of those mining companies which is drowning in debt and could very easily have gone bust, had it not recently announced a restructuring with its lenders.

I speak as a type 2 diabetes sufferer – today’s Covid ramp from Vela (VELA) is total bollocks. I also cover stinky share dumping by the Trainline (TRN) bird, Petra Diamonds (PDL), where I am vindicated again but not holding my breath for BBMs to apologise, Wishbone Gold (WSBN), Panthera Resources (PAT) and POS Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN) – now in the Minus 99% club. Time for boardroom bonuses all round I reckon, as it places again.

Yesterday, Petra Diamonds (PDL) issued an RNS which sounded like good news: “Recovery of Five High Quality Blue Diamonds”. Feck FYB thought the morons and the shares jumped by 10%…but this was dissembling. For beneath the bullish headline was not such good news:

Answers on a postcard please. Anyhow, it prompts me to discuss when Bidstack (BIDS) will run out of cash again so will have to do another bailout funding (again), and the history of its associates harassing me. I discuss historic death threats I have received. Elsewhere, I have more words on Lenigas PLC and frenzied activity in gold. I look at Midatech Pharma (MTPH), Petra Diamonds (PDL) and Symphony Environmental (SYM).

Buying bombed-out shares in companies that have previously run as successful businesses can be very lucrative if they somehow manage to turn things around, but it also offers a very high chance of losing all your money if you are proven wrong and hold to the bitter end. There are plenty of companies on the stockmarket that have been at death’s door but have managed to survive and have subsequently gone on to do quite well, but there are also a large number of others that went bust and where investors lost all their money, and there is a very fine line between the two if you do decide to take a risk on a company that finds itself in this situation.

This is my day of peak recordings - 7 hours of interviews and bearcast underway. I kid you not. apart from bearcast it is all great material for the Shareprophets shares show on May 9. I have just done the Jim Mellon recording which should knock your socks off. Poor man, he is trapped in lockdown in the Isle of Man but seems to be bearing up well. Anyhow, buy your ticket HERE. In this podcast I look at Eurasia Mining (EUA), Scancell (SCLP), 13 Energy (I3E), Arden Partners (ARDN), Petra Diamonds (PDL) and Intu (INTU).

Okay, I have been wrong with such calls before. Quindell (QPP) was a total and demonstrable fraud, running on fumes and so just had to be a zero... Then along came those Aussie poltroons from Slater & Gordon, who bought most of its worthless assets, so saving Quindell but train-wrecking their own company. It happens now and again that the corporate world throws up an even bigger fool than your average Bulletin Board Moron on the LSE Asylum. Moreover, these are “challenging” times...

I have repeatedly warned you on this website that Petra Diamonds (PDL) is an accident waiting to happen. It is happening and this is one where the shares have a clear end game of 0p. Let’s start with the three top golden rules of investing in mining companies…

I start with a bit about the US election this November, the Trump economic and stockmarket bubble and when it will burst. It is a when not an if and in that vein I review stocks that could be utterly cratered when the mood music changes including Petra Diamonds (PDL), De La Rue (DLAR), Versarien (VRS) and other jam tomorrow overvalued jokes and NMC Health (NMC). And I suggesy how you start to prepare for the bubble bursting.

Whenever you buy a share which you view as a potential recovery play, you have to accept the risk that of them will do everything but actually recover, and if the situation worsens then it is time to cut your losses and sell.

hey what better way to mark International Women's day than to hear an overpaid BBC nobody interview someone who says she is " A self-confessed believer in the human spirit, she is ‘ridiculously and overwhelmingly happy with the opportunities that she has to develop and how she can play into the amazing world that we live in." Yup, you know who is back. Elsewhere in this podcast I discuss Versarien (VRS), whose Nomad DID resign, ValiRx (VAL), Sound Energy (SOU), Petra Diamonds (PDL), Novacyt (NCYT), Nostra Terra (NTOG) and Laura Ashley (ALY). I also ask you to be generous and give to a great cause today HERE

The value of any asset traded in any volume is determined by the price at which buyers and sellers are prepared to transact. So for some surprisingly large companies where the liquidity ( lack of) or some other reason means there are no institutional investors, or trades, the share price is thus largely determined by private investors, many of them untrained in analysis and some of them full blown Bulletin Board Morons.

Yesterday Waseem Shakoor’s top six stocks from the AIM Cesspit which he thought set to crash were revealed HERE. That seems to have annoyed a fair few folks on the Bulletin Boards so, on that basis, I thought I’d offer my top ten stocks to crash. In no particular order:

Bet against the great Northern Bear Waseem Shakoor at your peril. He is invariably right and his ability to spot frauds and overpromotes is uncanny. So I asked the great man what he considered the five most overvalued stocks on the AIM casino. With an answer that will make him even more reviled on the Bulletin Boards, Waseem said:

When a share keeps on falling you have to decide whether the decline is terminal or how good the chances are of a recovery at some point. In some cases you will just be throwing good money after bad, and just because the shares have traded at a higher level in the past doesn’t mean that they will necessarily do so again if the fundamental changes to the business are terminal. But we also see cases where there is a temporary decline followed by quite a strong recovery, especially where the business is reliant on factors that are cyclical – such as in the natural resources sector as commodity prices fluctuate – or where it has suffered from shorting or a persistent seller, or even a combination of all of these...

Diamond miners have performed very poorly of late, but that doesn’t mean that trend will continue indefinitely - and now could be a good time to buy with a longer term view. Forgive the late bearcast. Blame it on Greek Hovel business. In today's podcast I look at Folli Follie, shares in which are slumping again as I warned you the other day HERE - tomorrow might be D (for Death) Day. I then take up Andrew Monk on AIQ (AIQ), Petra Diamonds (PDL) and the idea of consolidating brokers and Nomads via M&A. It makes no sense Andrew. Then I look at the GoTech (GOT) shambles - its now a dope play but frankly you must be a dope to own this stock. Then I cover Optibiotix (OPTI) again with a point folks like Cynical Bear have missed. Finally its i3 Energy (I3E). Thanks to those who have sponsored me as I suffer the dual agonies of walking 30 miles and having to listen to Brokerman Dan drone on all day, but 99% of bearcast listeners have not yet donated a tenner. Hello Share Shufflers. There’s been a lot of commendation for gold miners on this splendiferous website. And quite rightly, as many of them have put on impressive share value in the continuing uncertainty about currencies, Brexit, QE and so on. But if the value of gold rises, so should the price of silver, platinum and precious stones. So let’s not forget diamond miners like Petra Diamonds (PDL).

Botswana Diamonds (BOD), the gem hopeful chaired by occasionally controversial veteran Irish entrepreneur John Teeling, has won a new prospecting licence in the southern African state of Botswana covering ground which the Dublin-based AIM company describes as having ‘the highest priority’. Lately out of favour with investors who have sent its shares down from a 12-month high of 2.62p to 0.83p now, BOD owns half of Sunland Minerals, its 50-50 joint venture with state-controlled Russian diamond heavyweight Alrosa, and the Botswana government has awarded Sunland a three-year prospecting licence, PL 260/2015, covering 25 sq.km. in the diamond-rich Orapa region.

West African gem play Stellar Diamonds (STE) is hoping to bring two projects into production in Sierra Leone, which could yield 400,000 carats annually for a combined capital cost of $90 million (£56 million). But Stellar will need money to fund these ambitions from investors, potential partners or even bidders. This has obvious implications for the share price.
