Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: back to BCA, the Big Short & timing Woodford's next gating

Published 5 days ago

Sorry for the late bearcast, I enjoyed a long chat with Reuters (see Roger Lawson not all the deadwood press hates me!) on when Neil Woodford's Income Focus Fund will be gated. It is a when not an if and I discuss what is going on under the surface. Then it is on to Pendragon (PDG) and BCA MarketPlace (BCA) which is more of a BIG SHORT - than ever. I look at Big Sofa (BST), Amphion (AMP) which looks like a zero and finally, in some detail, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Now back to the rising water levels at the Welsh Hovel.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Advice for Andrew Monk on how to be a spiv

Published 31 days ago

I start with a comment on the amazing generosity of one person donating more than £11,000 to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks yesterday. It was not Neil Woodford though I did ask. Anyhow: to the 75% of you yet to donate think of me this weekend on a) my last training walk ahead of 33 miles next weekend and b) entertaining a visiting mother in law. As you think of my weekend, please donate HERE. In the podcast I discuss Woodford's latest bad news, Maistro (MAIS), Blur as was, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Staffline (STAF). I also offer advice to Andrew Monk on which 1 AIM stock he should buy today for his mother's IHT Portfolio.

UK Oil & Gas production update – no one believes in Lyin’ Steve any more

Published 67 days ago

Another day and another production update from Horse Hill which gives UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) boss Lyin’ Steve Sanderson to make the most outrageous claims which he could not substantiate in a month of Sundays. But the dull share price reaction suggests that these days the words of Lyin' Steve are about as credible as a Theresa May pledge on Brexit.

Lyin Steve and UK Oil & Gas spoofing caption contest

Published 82 days ago

In light of the contrast between the January 25 Lyin' Steve Sanderson video (dont worry about dilution, fully funded, blah, blah, blah) and today's UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) discounted placing we invite captions of the picture below: 3 vessels full of hot air, aka a tankers and two er oil executives. Post in the comments section below with a deadline of midnight tonight. The rudest/funniest entry will receive a semi naked photo of Britain's top share blogger (mornings only), thirsty Paul Scott.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Talking of Dan Levi's sweaty underpants - Mirriad has a statement

Look I am serious. Start donating to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE or I will show a photo of Dan Levi's underpants after his latest training walk which caused sores in places you do not want to think about. On the markets I look at Goals Soccer Centres (GOAL), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Mirriad (MIRI), Debenhams (DEB), Optibiotix (OPTI), and Online Blockchain (OBC).

SHOCKING: Lyin Steve raises £3.5 million for UKOG at just 1.05p - now watch this video from January 25

I bring you a paid for video made by Core TV featuring an interview by a toothy bimbo with Lyin Steve Sanderson of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Shareholders should not worry about dilution, we are fully funded for our next two wells, look at the cash we are and will generate. Fabbo.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: why I am a journalist not a thirsty share blogger & count-down for Telit

Published 118 days ago

I start by issuing a correction. That is what journalists do and thirsty share bloggers don't when they goof. That refers to Footasylum (FOOT) though my generic point still stands. I also cover Telit (TCM), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Dev Clever (DEV), Plus500 (PLUS) and Patagonia Gold (PGD) and other loss making companies that, for some reason, have net debt.

Now it is UK Oil & Gas where David Lenigas is ramping shamelessly and arguably committing market abuse

Published 123 days ago

If you had followed the last two share ramps from Big David Lenigas you would be feeling pretty sore. In less than two months you would have spunked two thirds of your cash on Angus Energy (ANGS) and a third on Greatland Gold (GGP). Well done Dave. Today he is pumping UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) as you can see below but has he gone a step too far?

Tom Winnifrith (bad language special) Bearcast: Daniel Stewart & Pinsent Masons in the dock (Christmas comes early)

I look at TrakM8 (TRAK), Angus Energy (ANGS), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Flybe (FLYB), and AIQ (AIQ).

Angus Energy - another David Lenigas twitter ramp costs his flock of followers dearly

Published 133 days ago

Below I bring you three tweets from the great promoter himself, Mr David Lenigas urging folks to buy Angus Anergy (ANGS) shares at up to 14p as recently as six weeks ago. Uh Oh those in his flock of followers who bought into this ramp must be feeling a tad sick today with the shares at just 5.5p after a statement that raises big questions about Paul Vonk, ousted as CEO last week and the matter of material non disclosure.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The return of Wildes, Roger Lawson and Lucky Lord Lucan

Published 139 days ago

I am plagued today by Bulletin Board Morons reporting me to the FCA, by Roger Lawson and some ungracious comments on fraud busting at Globo (GBO), Quindell (QPP) and Patisserie Holdings (CAKE) and by our former in house Bulletin Board Loon who has returned to really rile me with some vile comments on the holocaust which expose him as the Jew hating vermin that he is - HERE. I comment on Angus Energy (ANGS), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Domino's Pizza (DOM), Feedback (FDBK), Photonstar Led (PSL), Starcom (STAR) and Cabot Energy (CAB).  Footnote, Roger is now planning to run an amendment flagging up that I did advise folks to sell/short Patisserie warning "something's not right". Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - a hot tip from Brokerman Dan

Published 157 days ago

In this podcast I thinkI agree with Dan's tip. I then look at Independent Oil & Gas in light of Jim Armitage's article in the Evening Standard which takes this scandal forward some more. I cover ramp dog Chesterfield (CHF), Marks & Spencer (MKS), Gear4Music (G4M), Halfords (HFD), Starcom (STAR), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Angus Energy (ANGS) and the zero scenario, and Carclo (CAR). Tomorrow I may have better things to do than a bearcast as is the case every January 12. Or maybe not!

Bowleven – time for a small drop of Ouzo as a 15p special dividend is announced

Published 161 days ago

It has taken a bit longer than I had hoped, but this morning we had the first sign that AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN) might be set to come good. I tipped this stock at around 31p a year ago in the ShareProphets Christmas tip-fest, hoping that it would be all over by now, and top-sliced at above 37p. Since then the shares have drifted slowly back to the mid 20s but this morning the company announced plans to cough up 15p a share as a special dividend next month and the shares have responded higher to 32p. I hope a few managed to follow my upgrade to BUY during November, at just 25p.

Five slam-dunk shares to sell for 2019

Published 167 days ago

Following on from my five to sell for 2018, which resulted in a gain of 38% as a bear, 2019 seems to offer more pickings. After all, the markets are very wobbly and we have the chaos of Brexit to look forward to. So here are my five to dump now for 2019.

5 Slam-dunk shares to sell for 2018 – the result

5 Slam-Dunk Sells for 2018 – almost the final reckoning

Published 177 days ago

We are days away from the end of 2018 and so it is time for almost the final reckoning for my portfolio of 5 shares to sell this year. I say almost the final reckoning because Tom Winnifrith’s Winnileaks has been receiving a few things which suggest that AIM-listed Frontera Resources (FRR) may well be facing its final reckoning extremely soon – ouzo at the ready, then!

Lyin’ Steve Sanderson caption Contest Result – joint winners

Published 179 days ago

Shares in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) have actually rallied to 1.35p to sell in recent days. Natch they remain grotesquely overvalued as the clock starts to tick on the countdown to yet an other placing. But still there are those who reckon that on £650k per annum Lyin’ Steve Sanderson is good value as CEO. Whatever. On Tuesday I asked for suitable captions for the photo below and there were many decent entries as you can see HERE. But there can be only one winner…NO!

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: From 5.30 tonight think of me dear listeners as I undergo sheer torture

Published 180 days ago

I start by explaining that torture and it involves sociology lecturers. I then move onto explaining why Roland "fatty" Cornish is the utterly unacceptable face of crony capitalism. Then moving from the undeserving rich to the needy,  I ask you to give a few quid to Woodlarks HERE. I then look at Frontera (FRR) where the silence is deafening, Amur (AMC), Audioboom (BUST), Angus Energy (ANGS), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), F*ck Yu (YU.) and finally at Gulf Marine (GMS) which is about to discover that just because it is Christmas that won't stop the banksters being total bastards. There is no season of goodwill for that profession.

As UK Oil & Gas shares plunge to 1.225p – it's time for another Lyin’ Steve Sanderson caption Contest

Published 180 days ago

Of course the stock is still hugely overvalued. But as they have plunged from 2p in just a few weeks, for some reason, Big Dave Lenigas has stopped pumping out twenty tweets a day about how cheap the shares are.  Meanwhile the Bulletin Board Morons who lined up to abuse and smear myself and folks like Waseem Shakoor, who warned them, have been lining up to apologise. Not! And thus we have another pic of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) boss Lyin’ Steve Sanderson in action destroying shareholder value for you to consider ….

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - when does forced selling by fund managers become a flood?

Published 181 days ago

I start with the issue of fund managers and redemptions and thus forced selling of shares. Not just Neil Woodford, a special case, but generally. I look at this in the context of what corporate newsflow I expect in January.  I also look at Urals Energy (UEN), Telit (TCM) and the FCA, Andalas (ADL) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) answering a point posed by our own in house Bulletin Board loon Wildes HERE.

Five slam-dunk sells for 2018 – November update and change of stance on one share

Published 205 days ago

My little portfolio of shares to dump for this year has shown some surprising resilience through the year. Of course it has always been down but some of the shares seem to be propped up in the same way a cartoon characted runs off the edge of a cliff but doesn’t fall until he looks down. But I suspect the wheels may be about to come off in some cases before year-end, and in one case imminently.

Do the Leni-maths Lyin' Steve Sanderson pays to explain why UKOG is so cheap to a credulous Sith Lord Zak Mir

Published 209 days ago

If you are a proven liar like Steve Sanderson of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) who won't buy any shares in his own company but wants to ramp them ahead of the next placing what do you do? Easy. Pay Sharetalk (we will interview anyone who pays the fee) to record an interview with the Sith Lord Zak Mir who makes Justin the Clown look like the Spanish Inquisition and ramp away. Today's podcast is a classic bit of Leni-maths as Lyin' Steve explains to a credulous Zak how to value an oil stock and why UK Oil & Gas could be worth hundreds of millions of pounds if not more. Of course Lyin' Steve is talking utter crap as I explained HERE.  Meanwhile enjoy...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: As Johnston Press goes tits up & Thirsty Paul Scott realises what a tit he is - the easy way to double your profits from shares

Published 212 days ago

In today's podcast I look at Johnston Press (JPR), RIP, Flybe (FLYB), TrakM8 (TRAK) - which could well go the way of Johnston Press if its banks pull the plug, and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG),. down 25% on the week but set to lose at least a third of its remaining market cap by Christmas.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - 5 resignations and counting, is wretched Mrs May toast?

Published 214 days ago

In today's bearcast I clarify why I believe Mrs May's Brexit deal sucks and should be binned. But what happens next? I outline a few possibilities but admit I have not got a scoobie. I then look at Neil Woodford dog Eve Sleep (EVE) and again at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) after today's disastrous news.

UK Oil & Gas & its Gatwick “Gusher” Horse Hill is a donkey: it's official

Published 214 days ago

Hard data from sustained flow testing at Horse Hill is out today and if you think that it justifies a £100 million market cap for UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) then I know a Nigerian General who wants to send you an email with an offer you cannot refuse. This is terrible news but you were warned!

David Lenigas tweets on Angus Energy ahead of placing at 9p today

Published 224 days ago

Of course David Lenigas is not on the board of Angus Energy (ANGS) and thus had no idea at all that a heavily discounted placing at 9p would be announced today. And thus his aggressive pumping of the stock on twitter last week, as you can see below, is just another remarkable coincidence. Just like this one ahead of the last UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) bailout placing.  Big Dave.., an AIM casino leopard who never changes his spots.

Five Slam-dunk sells for 2018 – October update

Published 233 days ago

And so another month has slipped by and it is time for another update on my five to sell – or just steer a very wide berth around. Last month the average loss amongst AIM-listed Telit (TCM), Inspirit (INSP), Catanae (CTEA, formerly Milestone Group, MSG), Frontera Resources (FRR) and UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) was sitting at 17.4%. But we’ve had a bit of a sell-off……

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: So you are the man obsessed with Julie Meyer said the chap at Gatwick & don't be an ARS do the maths

Bowleven – drilling news, Waseem Shakoor frustrated (me too!)

Published 242 days ago

AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN) has announced a drilling update from Etinde this morning and oh dear, the second drill, IE-4, of the two-well programme seems not to have had a nice tasty big strike. But there is some good news in there and although one could have a slightly cynical read of the text (ala UK Oil & Gas, UKOG) I don’t perceive any need for Bowleven to ramp its shares: it has piles of cash, don’t forget.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: on the Anniversary of the Brighton bombing & other murders by Jeremy Corbyn's Sinn Fein/IRA pals

Published 248 days ago

Forgive a brief historic digression at the start of this podcast but I start with a history lesson for those misguided souls who think that SinnFein/IRA brought peace and happiness to Ireland. Then I look at some other tossers from Ulster, First Derivatives (FDP) and the 3Xs. I comment briefly on Purplebricks (PURP) and Versarien (VRS) then move via BCA Marketplace (BCA) to Neil Woodford. Then it is onto MySquar (MYSQ), Symphony Environmental (SYM) and on to UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) with a few words for Dominic Frisby on the nature of bitcoin and its bubble ahead of our bust up next week in London.

5 Slam-Dunk sells for 2018 – September update

Published 267 days ago

Juicin Drumroll demanded we bring back the Bulletin Board Moron of the week contest and last week he again tried to win in a most valiant way with a superb nomination of a UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) moron from the ADVFN asylum as you can see HERE. But I am afraid he was pipped to the post by Warun Boofit who has found some gems care of two Frontera (FRR) owning poltroons. The winning double header is below:

Bulletin Board Moron of the Week Result – you can’t beat a UKOG Moron

Five weeks in and the man who demanded we bring this contest back, Juicin Drumroll, is the runner up in this week’s contest but the photo of a semi I naked Thirsty Paul Scott goes instead to Putneywill – but there were numerous cracking entries, mainly posts by shareholders in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) who – as you can see HERE – really are true morons.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Roger Lawson says the mainstream press thinks TW is a "nutcase of the first order"

Published 279 days ago

I start with a reflection on 9/11 and the Orwellian claims to be fighting terror as discussed in more detail HERE. Then it is onto Roger Lawson of ShareSoc and his claims of how the mainstream press view me. Heck if they really thought that why do they keep lifting our stories and running them as their own work? Whatever. I regard the MSM as part of the problem of stockmarket corruption and not the solution and explain why. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Toople (TOOP), Oneview (ONEV) and a real problem with Nomad resignations on the AIM Casino, Frontera (FRR) and Online Blockchain (OBC) where directors really need to Show Me The Money or the shares will carry on sliding.

When you think the law fails you it is time to take it into your own hands - Big Dave Lenigas is...Charles Bronson

Published 279 days ago

Having failed to ramp shares in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) on the back of its utterly misleading RNS yesterday, an episode discussed at length here, Big Dave Lenigas tried to deflect attention by launching an amazing twitter rant at anti drilling protesters at Horse Hill. It started off as only semi-Musk but by the end, as you can see below, it was alarming.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: More shameless ramping & sordid Leni-maths from Horse Hill & UK Oil & Gas - the real numbers don't stack up

Published 280 days ago

Below you will find shameless ramping on twitter from David Lenigas and also a link to BMD's take on the latest shameful RNS from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) on the "Gatwick Gusher." The language used in the RNS is misleading and what is served up offers no evidence at all that the shares are not grotesquely over-valued. Only a sordid festering boil on the side of AIM such as Nomad Roland "fatty" Cornish could have signed off on this tripe. There is lso a clear signal of m ore discount placings ahead with the appointment of bucket shop spivs Novum as co-broker. that means just one thing. All is explained in this bonus bearcast as I look at the real data offered not the Leni-maths.

Is AIM in a bear market?

Published 280 days ago

I see that another three AIM companies ended their membership of the Casino this morning, namely Dalradian Resources (DALR), Zamano (ZMNO) and Weatherly International (WTI). On the one hand I keep hearing how AIM is outperforming the main market (something of a turnaround, at long last – and for the cynical perhaps a sign that the bull run is coming to an end!) but I keep seeing departures. AIM may have outperformed the main market, but I wonder for how long given the mad exuberance of shareholders in the likes of Frontera (FRR), UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) and Tern (TERN). And, as I discovered this morning, the number of companies listed on AIM still seems to be falling away markedly.

The August share tip of the month is not Optibiotix but we were sorely tempted..instead

This was our August share tip of the month which came out last week: Having advised you to bank some gains on Optibiotix (OPTI) a couple of weeks ago at 131p we see that the shares are now just under 100p following results yesterday.  We were sorely tempted to make this our tip of the month again as we are sure that there will be a stack of news in the coming weeks on some really big name deals ( with numbers!) and that we could have advised banking a quick 30% gain by mid October. You can hear Tom Winnifrith’s thoughts on Optibiotix in his Thursday bearcast HERE But that trade would have been a bit spivvy don’t you think? So instead…

Five Slam-Dunk Sells for 2018 – August update

It is time once again for the monthly update on my portfolio of slam-dunk sells for 2018. As the summer draws to a close, has the madness reported last month started to subside yet? Well, yes – the portfolio is off by around another 7% since the last update, but I fancy that as the city gets back to its desk next week, there is plenty more to come.

Don't look if you are easily offended: even David Lenigas scolds the halfwits & thinks his moronic twitter followers are going too far

Published 297 days ago

Finally after 48 hours of moronic and unpleasant harassment by a brigade of half-witted members of the cult of Lenigas, the Messiah himself was prompted by one particularly loathsome tweet (see below) to call a halt. I think David Lenigas wants the morons to play the ball not the man but what he says is a welcome start. Whether the UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) owning retards get the message is another matter but, thank you Big Dave for this...

The stupidity of UK Oil & Gas owning David Lenigas sycophants on twitter - meet Donato Perretta

Published 299 days ago

I trained as an oil analyst 27 years ago and have been writing about the sector ever since. Those morons who thought they knew better, as they filled their boots with Gulf Keystone (GKP), Xcite (XEL), Magnolia (MAGP), Andalas (ADL) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) always thought they had greater sector experise and on twitter came up with devestating responses to my hard analysis. Meet utter fucktard Donato Perretta, a UK Oil & Gas owning moron.

The Russians are quaking because of Horse Hill - is this the most ramptastic David Lenigas tweet yet?

Published 300 days ago

A man who slammed Elon Musk of Tesla for making irresponsible statements that he could not validate via twitter has just made the most ramptastic claim in history about the Gatwick Gusher. Step forward David Lenigas. Without extensive drilling which has yet to take place Big Dave Lenigas cannot justify this statement in any way shape or form. But apparently the Russians are quaking that little old UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is going to transform the metrics of global oil supply... whatever...

Gavin Slattery, a UK Oil & Gas owning moron demands personal service via twitter

Published 300 days ago

So I trained as an oil analyst and for the past 27 years have been writing about this sector. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) owning moron Gavin Slattery is an expert in retail facilities management. He can't be bothered to register here but demands via twitter that I give a personal precis of my work yesterday but suggests that he will ignore whatever I say because he knows better anyway. The arrogance of a man whose portfolio will die from ignorance is breathtaking...

UK Oil & Gas – the Real maths not the Leni-maths – SELL on today’s news

Published 301 days ago

Giving its piss poor drilling results elsewhere the future of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is almost entirely a play on the Gatwick Gusher, aka, Horse Hill, aka the latest mega ramp engineered by David Lenigas. Today UK upped its stake in Horse Hill by an effective 4.55% to 36.985% in a deal which only demonstrates more clearly how grotestquely overvalued its own shares are. That is unless you are using Leni-maths.

Bowleven – disappointing drill news

Published 303 days ago

One of my two share tips for 2018, AIM-listed Bowleven (BLVN), has updated the market on the first of two appraisal wells: it is bad news. As Waseem Shakoor puts it:  disappointing, but that’s drilling. I had hoped for better, but as AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) and fellow pie-in-the-sky oiler, AIM-listed Frontera Resources (FRR) want to ignore, no matter how loudly you shout about the potential, in the end it is only the drill-bit which matters.

Congratulations Drunken Sailor for spotting the Bulletin Board Moron of the week

Published 303 days ago

In our relaunched Bulletin Board Moron of the week contest, there were some fine examples of moronic activity by investors in Tern, UK Oil & Gas, Cloudtag, Whetstone and other great British Companies nominated by ShareProphets readers as you can see HERE. But there has to be a winner.

New, two part, guess the UK Oil & Gas share Price contest

Published 315 days ago

This is a guess the share price contest with a difference. It is a two part one.  We ask you to post your entries in the comments section below and Steve Moore will track and update ranking all entrants. The person with the lowest overall rank ( i.e. 1st and 1st) wins. So what do you have to guess?

Notes from Underground - Sure we lose money on each item, but we make it up in volume

Published 316 days ago

I'm a fan and user of Uber. I call up an app on my iPhone, tell it where I want to go, and five minutes later someone will come by and take me there at a price less than the cost of a Black Cab. This can happen because Uber has billlions from investors and loses money on every ride that it provides. I didn't say I was an investor of the service.

Tesla Q2 Results; Stormy Weather in Shortsville & doing UK Oil & Gas due diligence

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - which is naughtier: Lyin' Steve Sanderson's UK Oil & Gas or Jim Mellon's FastForward?

Published 318 days ago

In this podcast I look at FastForward (FFWD), Optibiotix (OPTI) - ouzo from Cynical on its way - Tern (Nigel will be celebrating with ouzo tonight) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Tomorrow Lucian Miers has the treat of all treats for his godson Joshua so there may be no bearcast or maybe there will be a very early one.

UK Oil & Gas misleads mug punters on twitter: spot the difference

Published 318 days ago

An RNS has to be signed off by a Nomad as fair and not misleading. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is sometimes forced to correct an RNS which it turns out was in fact misleading but there is at least some control. On twitter UK Oil & Gas says what it likes. So can you spot the difference?

Oh and en passant Julie "Lingerie on Expenses" Meyer.

After the David Lenigas twitter pump on Angus Energy...guess what happened next?

Published 319 days ago

The leopard does not change its spots. Pumping UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) hard as it was trying to arrange a bailout placing is bad enough. But now we come to Angus Energy (ANGS) another Horse Hill play and one where the CEO has just "been resigned" in disgrace following revelations HERE. But Big Dave has, as you can see below, been pumping its shares hard on twitter. What happens after a Big Dave pump?

Amazed to find that one of her share tips had actually gone up, Jo Hart of the Midas column In the mail on Sunday  advised the poor saps who follow her to top slice or sell Optibiotix (OPTI) on Sunday. Just as a buy note from Ms Hart is seen by most folks as a sure sign that a PR puff campaign is underway and that you should sell at once, the Midas sell stance seems to have pushed the shares ever higher as the chart below demonstrates. Yes £1 hit again, another case of ouzo Cynical Bear needs to send me. I discussed why I’d not be selling at this price as I expect fireworks soon HERE. Meanwhile…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: David Lenigas needs to sort out his story on twitter - was he a UKOG placing insider or not?

Published 322 days ago

First of all thanks for all the kind comments on the Woodlarks walk. The final photos and my final thoughts are HERE. It is not too late to donate HERE and that is what David Lenigas should do now as he gets his twitter knickers in a twist over his pre-placing tweets on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). He now says on twitter he was an insider -in the US that would be a perp walk admission. The shameless old ramper is now batting for Angus Energy (ANGS). Elsewhere I cover Optibiotix (OPTI) and the odd Midas call, Wolf Minerals (WLFE), N4 Pharma (N4P), Arden Partners (ARDN) and Goldplat (GDP). Back to Woodlarks: next year I seek volunteers to join the 4 rogue bloggers. I now have 4 (PR genius Steffi, daughter Olaf, my pal the Euro loon Jonathan Price and Steve Moore), if you are up for it email [email protected]

5 Slam-dunk sells for 2018 – July update

Published 324 days ago

I suggested five stocks to sell for 2018 as part of the ShareProphets Christmas tipfest some seven months ago. This tale this month shows just how mad the AIM market is in this bull market: it seems that investors have simply lost their senses.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - a 5th rogue blogger joins us on the road to Woodlarks, you will NEVER guess who

Published 325 days ago

Yes, for the last six miles we will be joined by a fifth rogue blogger tomorrow on the 33 mile trek from Horse Hill to Woodlarks. You will not guess who in a month of Sundays. All is revealed in the podcast. We have now raised £23,715. Just £1,285 more and Brokerman Dan walks the last mile in his underwear, an event we will photograph. So if you are yet to donate, please do so HERE. In today's podcast I look at Johnson Press (JPR), FastJet (FJET) - do the maths comrades - Europa Metals (EUZ) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG).

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: C'mon Dave Lenigas tell your UKOG twitter trolls that attacking a charity for the disabled is disgusting

Published 327 days ago

As of last night a group of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) twitter trolls have moved from attacking me over THIS ARTICLE to having a pop at Woodlarks over the walk on Saturday. Big Dave Lenigas is copied in on these tweets. I urge him to state clearly that attacking charities for the disabled is obscene and to make a donation HERE - as should any bearcast listener who has not done so already!  I have recorded a special Woodlarks podcast today which you can listen to HERE. In this bearcast I ask what will make an overvalued market crack and look at Tern (TERN), Amur (AMC), Metals Exploration (MTL), Optibiotix (OPTI) and Uk Oil & Gas (UKOG) once more.

Horse Hill oil tankered out – no evidence at all that the Gatwick Gusher is an, er…gusher as David Lenigas tweets suggest

Published 328 days ago

The UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) twitter feed, dutifully retweeted with added hype by David Lenigas, has so far reported three tankers leaving Horse Hill full of oil to be sent to the BP refinery. But is this proof that the Gatwick Gusher is a gusher? That is what the Bulletin Board Morons believe but they would believe almost anything. Let’s look at the tweets below and do some maths, not Leni-maths, real maths.

If you don't like me or the Israeli army or Versarien (VRS) and enjoy my suffering please donate to the Woodlarks charity walk on July 28 - we are now just £31 from 50% of our target fund raise. Be generous HERE. On the podcast today I look at Versarien, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where Lucian Miers is taking one hell of a beating from big Dave Lenigas, MySquar (FRAUD) - 7 days to courtroom drama - 88 Energy (88E) - you were warned - Mosman (MSMN)  and Frontera (FRR). I also look at new leverage limits on spread betting coming in on 29 July and what that means in nanny state Europe and the UK.

Five slam-dunk sells for 2018 – June update

Published 351 days ago

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Radio 4 misguided, ShareSoc Pompous & wrong, Amigo revolting

Published 352 days ago

Tomorrow is my longest training walk yet for the Woodlarks 32 mile charity walk with Brokerman Dan. I plan to set off at 5 AM on a 26 mile trek. Think of my utter pain in this awful heat and please give £10 to a great cause HERE. I then look at the recent Radio 4 programme on shorting which was sprinkled with pompous and half-witted comments from ShareSoc. They are naive and have it all wrong and I explain why. Then I look at whether share dealing should be ethical - ref Dave Lenigas  and his ramping of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG)  - should we all get on board? Finally I look at the IPO of Amigo which I find revolting at every level.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: happy birthday Olaf although I know you will not be listening

Published 353 days ago

I start by wishing my daughter Olaf a happy 17th although she will not be listening and indeed wants me to retire so I stop embarrassing her by expressing my support for Trump, reservations about abortion or other crimes against the new world of 2018. It was Olaf's birth all those year ago at 1lb 4oz that got me involved with Woodlarks as I explain. This weekend my training walk will be 26 miles in this scorching heat. Think of me and if Olaf can spare a tenner so can you - donate HERE. In the podcast I explain why Julie Meyer must be stopped it is not just investors that need protecting. I cover FastJet (FJET), Action Hotels (ACHG), Akers Biosciences (AKR), Management Consulting (MMC), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Angus Energy (ANGS) and Amur Minerals (AMC).

David Lenigas ramps UK Oil & Gas shamelessly on twitter - the master pumper is back

Published 353 days ago

You would have thought that after being caught ramping UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where he is a paid consultant in the most shameless fashion and with statements he could not verify as a bailout placing got underway, as exposed here, Big Dave would STFU. But now...he has no shame and is tweeting like a dervish once again as you can see below. In the US this sort of behaviour by "consultants" would be dealt with very firmly indeed but this is the AIM Casino.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - talking to one of the 3 X's for almost an hour

The 3Xs are the fraudbusters best friends. In this case it was one of Julie Meyer's 3Xs and a new source. we chatted for just under an hour. More to follow. Oh dear, poor Ms Lingerie on Expenses MBE. In the podcast I look at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Purplebricks (PURP), Frontera (FRR), FastJet (FJET), MySquar (MYSQ) - where I have again contacted John Meyer urging him to get off his fat arse - Andalas (ADL) and Magnolia Petroleum (MAGP). The good news is that sponsorship of the walk I'm doing with Brokerman Dan for Woodlarks is now, with gift aid, at almost £11,000. I explain here why this walk makes the difference between Woodlarks having to cut services or carry on, please do give a tenner today.  Think of my pain - not least in having to hear Dan talk total bollocks about Andalas for whole day - and COUGH UP HERE.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Sorry I made a mistake yesterday

The mistake in yesterday's podcast was on Telit (TCM). In fact it is even worse than I thought! The good news is that sponsorship of the walk I'm doing with Brokerman Dan for Woodlarks has now topped £9,000. I explain here why this walk makes the difference between Woodlarks having to cut services or carry on, please do give a tenner today. This afternoon sees Joshua and I on another training walk, my second in two days. Think of my pain and COUGH UP HERE. In a long bearcast I predict that, after today's shocking news, FastJet (FJET) will be sold for £1 and explain why. I look at Havelock Europa (HVE), 88 Energy (88E), Lyin' Steve Sanderson's UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Frontera (FRR), Andalas (DOG), Mysquar (FRAUD) and Audioboom (BOOM).

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Despite being a staunch feminist, I reckon the birds who run FootAsylum must be fired NOW!

Published 363 days ago

I explain why the FD and CEO of FootAsylum (FOOT) must be fired at once after today's profits warning. I forgot to say that any company holding and announcing an "analyst teach in" - as Rob Terry used to do - is almost an automatic sell in my book and FootAsylum is an offender in this respect. I also look at FastForward (FFWD) and explain why I think Jim Mellon has sinned, albeit legally. I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Andalas (ADL) and McCarthy & Stone (MCS). In terms of the walk we are now well over £9,000 with gift aid and ahead of a training walk in the rain tonight I ask again. Most bearcast listeners are enjoying my suffering but are yet to help Woodlarks with a donation. Please, I am sure you can spare a tenner HERE

UK Oil & Gas and Tern: Summer Madness

Published 366 days ago

As the sorry saga of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) reminds us, AIM stock promotions invariably revert to mean. The company, on Friday, announced a placing at 0.9p, pretty much the level at which the shares were a year ago before they succumbed to retail summer madness and sky-rocketed to ten times that level.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - I said he was mad, I was wrong

Published 367 days ago

In today's Bearcast I reflect that it is now just 6 weeks and 1 day to the great event. With gift aid myself and Brokerman Dan have now raised more than £8500 for Woodlarks. As I prepare for a 14 mile training walk this weekend please do sponsor me - I am sure you can afford to donate a tenner HERE. In the podcast I look at Orosur Mining (OMI) - down 48% today but still 90% overvalued - UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Kefi (KEFI) - where we own shares - RedstoneConnect (REDS), Purplebricks (PURP), Neil Woodford and Feedback (FDBK).

UK Oil & Gas – after the pump – the dump at 0.9p – shameless ramping

Published 367 days ago

We forced a statement last Friday and, today,  UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) says it has completed an “oversubscribed” placing at 0.9p.  FFS these bastards have a nerve. How they abuse and insult the owners of this company, its shareholders.

Reader Poll Result – more than half of you think UK Oil & Gas will be lucky to get its rescue placing away at 0.6p

Published 371 days ago

On Friday we forced UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) to fess up that it was trying to raise £5 million. It is struggling to fill that back and the shares – now just 1p-1.05p – at least partially discounts the pain that is coming. But ShareProphets readers, when polled HERE, think far worse is coming. I agree.

Reader Poll: at what price will UK Oil & Gas get away its bailout £5m placing after our Friday expose

Published 372 days ago

It was a sordid end to the week for UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). On Thursday its "consultant" David Lenigas was ramping the shares on twitter with outrageous claims as exposed HERE. On Friday morning I revealed that a placing - which clearly Big Dave knew nothing about - was underway HERE and by midday UK had fessed up with weasel words, see HERE. The shares closed Friday at just 1.05p-1.1p. So at what price will the bailout placing be? You vote below with a deadline of midnight Sunday:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Almost feeling sorry for Lyin' Steve Sanderson at UK Oil & Gas - placing at as low as 0.5p?

Published 373 days ago

My planned 7.5 mile training walk (pushing Joshua) today became 10 miles as I explain HERE. Think about my poor sore feet and aching legs and if you have not yet donated a tenner to the Woodlarks appeal please do so HERE. In the podcast I explain why the fraud MySquar (MYSQ)  and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) face the same predicament and that is why the latter may well place at as low as 0.5p next week. I then look again at the tweets of David Lenigas last Thursday - HERE - surely there is something very wrong in this matter.

David Lenigas, the bollocks ramptastic tweet and the bailout placing underway at UK Oil & Gas - I am sure it is just a coincidence

Published 374 days ago

This tweet below is just one of a number of bullish tweets about Horse Hill where the biggest investor is UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) made by David Lenigas the founder of UK and, as far as we know still a shareholder. Today it has been forced by me to fess up that a bailout placing is underway. The problem with Big Dave's tweet is that it is bollocks. As to the idea that it is a pre-placing ramp, no way Jose, not David Lenigas, this is just a coincidence.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The missing trading statement from Purplebricks and does IQE need to warn?

Published 374 days ago

I start on a rather sad personal note. Then it is onto Purplebricks (PURP) and the missing FY trading statement. Does that mean that the great day of a big de-rate looms? I look at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) in light of today's scoop, at Strat Aero (AERO) where if you look at the real maths the current ramp has created a joke valuation, at the People's Operator (TPOP) which should be sent to Dignitas and finally at IQE (IQE) where I ask if a profits warning is imminent? 5% of Bearcast listeners have donated to the Woodlarks charity walk but 95% have not! . We are now at 26% of our £20,000 target. As I prepare for a step up in my training walks tomorrow - pushing Joshua for 7.5 miles - to those who have  donated I say thank you. To the rest, I know you can afford a tenner - think of me training and cough up now HERE

EXCLUSIVE: Shore Cap sounding out investors on £5 million UK Oil & Gas placing: struggling - source

Published 374 days ago

As noted many times, but most recently in bearcast yesterday, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is running on fumes. It quite simply does not have the cash to both cover its (bloated) PLC costs and fulfil its exploration commitments for the rest of calendar 2018. Thus a City source close to the situation tells us that ShoreCap is - as we speak - sounding out investors about a £5 million placing. And it is struggling to find any demand.

Sorry Matt Earl. Brokerman Dan says that if we raise our target £20,000 for Woodlarks with our 30 mile charity walk on July 28 he will do the last mile in his underpants. We will have cameras on hand and splash it all over the internet. Thanks to all who have donated but 95% of bearcast listeners have yet to do so although we are already 23% of the way there. So please donate a tenner each today HERE

5 Slam-dunk Sells for 2018 – May update

Published 386 days ago

I suggested a portfolio of five stocks to sell – or just avoid – for 2018 during the ShareProphets tipfest. Those stocks were Tern (TERN), UK Oil and Gas (UKOG), Frontera (FRR), Telit ((TCM) and Milestone Group (MSG) – since renamed Catenae (CTEA). Tern was subsequently withdrawn when the fundamentals changed (the death spiral was terminated), and Inspirit (INSP) brought in in its place. Here is the May update.

Advanced Oncotherapy – UK site agreement, but what of the Blackfinch loan?

Published 405 days ago

As we know from AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG), the best thing to do when faced with an awkward question is to move the goal posts. And so this morning we see AIM-listed Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO), rather than ‘fess up over its overdue loan from Blackfinch which is secured on its Harley Street premises, telling us that it has signed a lease with the UK Government’s Science and Technology Facilities Council to establish a UK testing site for its LIGHT (proton therapy technology) system. I wonder what Advanced is going to pay with!

Five Slam-Dunk shares to sell for 2018 – April update

Published 408 days ago

I offered a portfolio of shares to sell for 2018 during the ShareProphets Christmas Tipfest – let’s see how it is doing (albeit a few days late). Into the original portfolio went Frontera (FRR), Milestone Group (MSG), Tern (TERN), UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) and Telit (TCM). Subsequently Milestone changed its name to Catenae (CTEA) and Tern dropped its death spiral so was replaced by Inspirit (INSP).

UK Oil & Gas blames Tom Winnifrith "leaking" for decision to use a death spiral - bollocks!

Published 418 days ago

The day, that after 28 years as a journalist,, I take lectures on my vocation from a lying toe-rag like UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) boss Steve Sanderson is the day I quit. Lyin' Steve attacked me at his company's AGM and blames me for the death spiral which - along with drilling disasters - has cratered his company's share price.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Lyin' Steve now you really are taking the piss

Published 427 days ago

I look at Greka Drilling (GDL) and at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where Lyin' Steve is now really taking the piss with his 0.4p options. Finally I wonder how close is Totally (TLY) to needing a bailout placing. With Allenby of Servision (SEV) infamy and the chap who assisted Quindell (QPP) at Cenkos on board it has a broking dream team in place. I take a detailed look. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Naturally watching Paddington 2 for the second and then third time was the highlight but there was also Atomic blonde which had great eighties music and lots of violence with commies getting killed. That's fine by me but there were certain scenes I felt a bit uncomfortable watching. I digress.  On today's bearcast I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Mothercare (MTC) and the idea of we bears "preying"  on retailers as legal wankers Linklaters suggest. I look at Avanti (AVN) and Pantheon (PANR) and recall an interview I did with Colin Bird. I also look at Nakama (NAK) and discuss how events can spiral badly for a company seen to be in trouble. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and not one but, now, two special guests. Even when he wants to tell the truth Lyin Steve Sanderson at UK Oil & Gas can't manage it - results announcement

Published 445 days ago

The results are for the year to 30th September 2017 as is clear if you read down the RNS. But sadly even when he tries to tell the truth UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) boss Steve Sanderson can't seem to get it quite right as the two screenshots below show...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Malcolm's in love with the ugliest girl in town, UKOG and other dogs

Published 445 days ago

Bad language alert. No I am not referring to Mrs Stacey. I would not dare but to Feedback (FDBK) which has done a placing today but another one is needed soon. I look at Mosman (MSMN) which has had terrible results and imagine the conversations round at SP Angel as poor Zac Phillips is forced to pen another buy note on this POS. I look at results from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the RedX (REDX) disaster, RM2 (RM2) and Conviviality (CVR). I really enjoyed today's podcast and - conceitedly - think it is rather a good one.

UK Oil & Gas - tries to polish the Broadford Bridge turd but it is still an (uncommercial) turd

Published 445 days ago

You can't sit on bad news forever. In the end even Lyin Steve Sanderson of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) needs to fess up and so today we got the much delayed news of flow testing at Broadford Bridge. Natch Lyin' Steve tried to bury the poisonous needle in a haystack of waffle.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Gloo Networks excusing my fecking French but this is a fecking disgrace at all levels

Published 446 days ago

In this bearcast I cover Sosandar (SOS) as Cynical Bear pretends to be Ben Turney on steroids and then turn my fire to all the bad news that UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is sitting on and may release well after hours tomorrow. Then I look at Gloo Networks (GLOO) which is linked to BCA Marketplace (BCA). Gloo is at every level a total fecking scandal of greed and well everything. I should warn you that there is a bad language alert as Gloo is everything that is wrong about the AIM Casino. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. UK Oil & Gas Death Spiral Scores on the doors - hard data that shouts out something

Published 446 days ago

Hat Tip to the great Waseem for this but after yesterday's death spiral conversion from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) here are all the death spiral conversions to date. If I was Cynical Bear I would now be offering a prize for anyone who can show the trend. But I am not as I am a mean bastard with a reputation to protect. So here is the data:

Notes from Underground: Photo finished

I'm pleased that  UK Oil & Gas - the photo that demands a statement now! is the #1 story of the week, it certainly made me laugh on the day. To wit: a photo was taken of a lorry being loaded up with equipment to take away from the UKOG site at Broadford Bridge.

Five slam-dunk shares to sell for 2018 – March update

Published 450 days ago

As we approach the end on March it is once again time to look at my portfolio of shares to sell. Of course, it is now down to four after Tern plc (TERN) ditched its death spiral so we’ll need to find a replacement for that one.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Time for UK Oil & Gas to have a Horse Hill rally?

Published 450 days ago

In today's podcast I look at why some folks really don't get it. If I want to stop risking my capital and working ball-breakingly long weeks and retire that is not selfish as one poster suggested when I said why I was planning on doing just that HERE. I look at market falls and why I expect more and at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and where the shares go now. What does David Lenigas say & what will happen? Finally House of Fraser is joining retailageddon. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Will Jim Mellon's PR man say sorry for chewing my ear off over the Condor spoof - vindicated today

Published 451 days ago

On 6th December I said that a token share purchase by Jim Mellon of shares on Condor Gold (CNR) was a spoof as it was so small for Jim. Moreover Condor was running out of cash and would do a placing within months. Mellon's PR man chewed my ear off. Well hey ho today there was a placing.  A pattern of such spoofs and a subsequent placing has continued. Will I get an apology?  I also look at lessons from Flybe (FLYB) and the non bid, at Fevertree (FEVR) director share sales, at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) which is also spoofing, 13 Energy (13E) - "you say it best when you say nothing at all " - R Keating.  Then I look at uber dog Golden Saint Resources (GSR) which is leaving AIM and says it wants to go to the Standard List. Lucky Standard List. I also mention our share purchase of more Optibiotix (OPTI). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Malcolm with respect you are talking complete bollocks on IQE

Published 452 days ago

Two days, two bull articles on IQE (IQE). It has worked and I have been goaded here is is why Malcolm Stacey is talking bollocks. I also reference the fraud Eden Research (EDEN) in this discussion on profit being a matter of opinion and that is why cash matters. I discuss why being a liar is bad news as a CEO ref Mkango Resources (MKA) then tease Andrew Monk and Richard Jennings about Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) - their oil analysis as bad as their Syria analysis on this occasion. Then it is onto Flybe (FLYB) and a detailed discussion of the looming cash crisis and joke valuation at Sound Energy (SOU). I suggest SalvaRx (SALV) run by my good friend Jim Mellon faces a bit of a cash issue. Then I explain why I have cut my UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) target price to just 0.25p making it, at 1.125p, still a slam dunk sell.  If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Shocking Expose - The training video they used at UK Oil & Gas that made Steve Sanderson such a guru in investor relations

Published 452 days ago

My son Joshua has stumbled across this shocking video which he tells me is the training video that Steve Sanderson of Uk Oil & Gas (UKOG) uses to help him persuade Bulletin Board Morons to buy into the story at Broadford Bridge and Horse Hill. You can now see from where Lyin' Steve gets his inspiration when it comes to "investor relations" ...enjoy

UK Oil & Gas - forced into statement - don't these A'holes give a FF about AIM Rules?

Published 453 days ago

At 10.38 AM today I published a photo showing that UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) was clearly stopping drilling at Broadford Bridge.  The company should have issued an RNS this morning to say this was happening but what does Lyin' Steve Sanderson care about timely disclosure of price sensitive information?

UK Oil & Gas - the photo that demands a statement now!

Published 453 days ago

Is this photo fake? I believe that it is genuine but do not know for sure. But it is starting to do the rounds on the interweb and appears to show drilling equipment being removed from the UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) site at Broadford Bridge. I would assume it is moving, with the goalposts, to Horse Hill.

UK Oil & Gas in High Court vs Nimbys, smellies and virtue signalling celebs

Published 455 days ago

It is the sort of battle where I'd normally want both sides to lose, a bit like Man City vs Chelsea. I have no time for Lyin Steve Sanderson the boss of stock market promotion, oops junior oil explorer, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) but the rabble on the other side are not exactly my sort of folks either. Among the virtue signallers backing the nimbies & smellies are Bianca Jagger and actress Sue Jameson (yes I had to look her up on google too).

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - the award for today's biggest load of bollocks RNS goes to

Published 458 days ago

The short list is Conviviality (SVR), Clear Leisure (CLP) and Graphene Nanochem (GRPH). I discuss all three but also UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where the deafening silence is a very bad sign. I consider Sir Patrick's Day tomorrow and how Joshua and I will celebrate and I look at Mothercare (MTC), retail gloom, Mitie (MTO) and the double standards of the great and the good. Make sure you get your free ticket to UK Investor on April 21 using the promotional code WINNIFRITH when booking an investor class seat HERE - if only to hear a live 40 minute bearcast with myself & Paul Scott being recorded!

UK Oil & Gas - who is lying about a sidetrack well at Broadford Bridge

Published 465 days ago

Sooner or later UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) will have to fess up that Broadford Bridge flow rates are not very good at all and its shares will slump. While we wait for that let's just ask who is lying about a sidetrack well?

Eqtec halves its share price thanks to the worst death spiral deal going - arranged with a proven fraudster

Published 466 days ago

I realise that the crony capitalists round at Nomad Northland have a few things on their mind, such as who will pay the wages this month, but how on earth can they have signed off on the worst death spiral deal I have ever seen where the counter-party is a man who the SEC nailed for "defrauding investors." I despair.

UK Oil & Gas: Waseem Shakoor says "the farce will soon be over"

Published 466 days ago

Having successfully shorted UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) down to 1.6p, bear raider Waseem Shakkortt still sees 65% or more downsidee from here. And he says this long running farce will soon be over. Was stated on a BB post today:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: MySquar & UKOG - spot the difference: not all "death spirals" are the same

Published 467 days ago

In today's bearcast I start with a reader complaint but then he is a tosser so who cares? Then it is onto looking at the differences between the funding facilities at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and MySquar (MYSQ). I am bearish on both but the differences in the two packages are instructive. I look at Nature Group (NGR), Jim Mellon's uber-ramp FastForward (FFWD) and at Purplebricks (PURP) is the Neil Woodford bubble about to burst again, as even former supporters like Paul Scott admit my analysis was right and theirs wrong.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Sir Bradley Wiggins and British Cycling you are right up there with UKOG

Published 469 days ago

I have long been critical of Sir Bradley Wiggins and his fellow British cyclists whether in the Tour de Drugs or elsewhere and comment on what today's report says about our double standards and lack of standards. I comment on your comments on the airlines in the wake of my nightmare with EasyJet (EZJ). I look at Interserve (IRV), Feedback (FDBK), King of the spiv tweets UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Metminco (MNC), Union Jack Oil & Gas (UJO), Fusion Antibody (FAB) and Andalas (ADL) which MUST make a statement ASAP after yesterday's shock revelation HERE.

Is this the spivviest tweet ever - why is UK Oil & Gas Nomad WH Ireland not forcing a statement?

Published 469 days ago

Over the weekend the extraordinary tweet below was sent by UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Was it approved by its poltroon of a Nomad James Joyce of WH Ireland? Methinks not. In light of its content a responsible Nomad would be resigning or at the least forcing a statement. But not this one.

5 Slam-dunk shorts: February update (sorry it’s late, no really, very sorry indeed)

Notes from Underground: Sweep week

Published 477 days ago

It's harder to wake up this morning as I was up late watching the Gold Medal Olympic Women's Curling last night between Sweden and South Korea. Sweden won, but there is no shame in South Korea's performance.  For the unitiated, curling is life-sized shuffleboard (or bocce), but played on ice, and there is a pub at the end of the building. Also, brooms are involved somehow. My curling experience has mostly taken place at the aformentioned pub. TW Note. You are a truly sad man.

The only question for James Joyce, lackey Nomad to UK Oil & Gas

Published 481 days ago

"I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day." So said the great Irish author James Joyce. But the question for lackey Nomad James Joyce at WH Ireland is whether his client UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has a tomorrow, has a future day at all? A statement is needed now to clarify the financial position of his client.

In his own words the tweets of the great man himself, Waseem Shakoor on 24 hours in the half life of UK Oil & Gas

Published 481 days ago

Once again Waseem Shakoor has been vindicated and those morons who ignored his sensible analysis and attacked him have done their conkers. Waseem stays short of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and his tweets over the past 24 hours ( starting with the most recent) explain why. I think his analysis of where next is very similar to mine of earlier. Over to the great man...

What is UK Oil & Gas actually worth? 0.4p? Or am I too generous?

Published 481 days ago

You may say that fundamentals don't matter on the AIM casino. In the short run you are right - sentiment drives share prices. But in due course fundamentals always out and that inherent valuation mismatch is your opportunity to buy cheap, unloved, stock or to short over-promoted crap. And that brings us to UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), now just 1.375p after yesterday's disastrous news from Broadford Bridge. So what is it really worth?

Crack out the Ouzo - UK Oil & Gas shares in freefall on Broadford Bridge disaster

Published 482 days ago

If it was not ouzo o'clock at the Sheriff's Greek bolt-hole after the Servision (SEV) debacle it sure is now after UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) fessed up to disastrous news from Broadford Bridge. We bear have been utterly vindicated but there is far worse to come for the morons who thought they knew better - the shares have slumped to 1.9p but they will now inevitably fall to as low as 0.5p in the coming weeks.

Tom Winnifrith bearcast: I have reported myself, Waseem Shakoor & Lucian Miers to the FCA for market abuse over UKOG

Published 483 days ago

I discuss the history of me being reported by Mike Walters and other morons to the FCA (FSA as was) for market abuse and in that vein I am reporting myself, Waseem Shakoor and Lucian Miers because of our comments over UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the grossly overvalued, financially challenged mega ramp so loved by morons. Elsewhere I look at RockRose Energy (RRE) - time for a Cynical apology - Kin Group (KIN) and at Inspirit (INSP). Oh yes, and God is punishing me for being smug.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Malcolm I just do not believe it! And how close is UKOG to tits up street?

Published 485 days ago

I take issue with Malcolm's article of earlier. today His complacency really does reek of mad bull disease. I discuss that and how I am wearing a T-shirt in 17 degree heat - are you jealous?  Then I move onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) the looming, I sense, not good news from Broadford Bridge, its very real financial crisis and how the shares could well be sub 1p by March. I think Lucian was generous in his earlier article.

UK Oil & Gas, the Race to Berlin. Sell at 2.9p

Published 485 days ago

Last year I was involved in two rollercoaster rides, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Cloudtag (CTAG). Having called UK Oil a sell at 3.1p, I saw it go to 11p. As I write it is sub 3p. In July when it was around 6p I used a WW2 analogy and suggested that the army of bulls had reached Stalingrad. To continue the theme it is looking like Berlin is all but surrounded.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Servision Told y'all PS This stinks

On the agenda:  Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN), Amur Minerals (AMC), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Reach4Entertainment (R4E) - shares in which  I own though I feel well abused for being so loyal - and finally Servision (SEV) where I told y'all but of course the Bulletin Board Morons knew better. Tom Winnifrith Photo Bearcast: FFS DO NOT WAKE JOSHUA

Published 493 days ago

Friday is one of my two and a half days a week when my 17 month old son Joshua is not at nursery and I am the primary carer. I am such a fucking feminist it is unbelievable. In fact I am almost expecting Harriet Harman to call for the Mrs to start giving me vast sums of money for being such a role model. Anyhow, I record with Joshua snoring so if I speak quietly it is so as not to wake him. In this podcast I cover Angus Energy (ANGS), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), IQE (IQE), Versarien (VRS) and Sosandar (SOS), shares in which I am VERY happy to own.  My son and heir is pictured snoring away below.

Lyin' Steve at UKOG - wakey, wakey its February 5th so about that flow testing you were finishing in January?

Published 497 days ago

Does Lyin' Steve Sanderson of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) know what month it is let alone what day of the week it is? I am only asking because of a statement he snuck out when all sane folks were not watching the screen, on December 27 regarding flow testing at Broadford Bridge. Remember that companies - especially those with stacks of death spiral loan notes to convert - hurry out good news and always delay bad news. So rewind to when you and I were focusing on mince pies, the man who specialises in porky pies stated:

4p a month ago, 3p mid today - lack of flow test news spooks UK Oil & Gas

Published 510 days ago

To lose 25% of your market capitalisation in less than a month looks a bit like carelessness but that is what UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has managed. The real issue is that it is grossly overvalued on a fundamental basis - the shares should be sub 1p. The immediate issue is the news from Broadford Bridge. Or rather lack of it.

Sell Versarien at 80p (and a few more words on UKOG)

Published 555 days ago

Advanced materials engineering group Versarien (VRS) floated on AIM at 12.5p around four years ago. Its plan then was to commercialise a process called Lost Carbonate Sintering, the brainchild of a Dr. Zhao of the university of Liverpool. More recently it appears to have shifted its focus to graphene products.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: UK Oil & Gas today shows why a death spiral is a one way bet (down!)

Published 556 days ago

Uk Oil & Gas (UKOG) today provides a case study in death spiral share price destruction. The only question wis whether the provider converted another tranche a few days ago and UK has not bothered to tell us or whether it converted today and is already selling hard. Elsewhere I look at the Tony Baldry car- crash on the way at Wesztminster Group (WSG) and try to put director share purchases at Condor (CNR) and Concepta (CPT) - which we own - into perspective. I look at Yolo (YOLO) which does not impress me much and blockchain madness at Vela (VELA). I ask what I should get the Mrs for Christmas, I am out of ideas.

UK Oil & Gas death spiral conversion announced but this is misleading, numbers dont add up

Published 558 days ago

UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has announced that another £500,000 of death spiral loan has been converted into shares, 14,159,092 of them. But hang on, this does not add up. UK Oil & Gas and its patsy Nomad WH Ireland (WHI) are not telling you something.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Of course you know best Neil (another bad day for Woodford), UKOG to sub 1p and Adam Reynolds NOT fired

Published 559 days ago

I hope you enjoyed the two share tips earlier and thanks for the kind words from many of you abour our place in Greece. I start with a look at Strat Aero (AERO). I covered the dire maths earlier here but it is the sheer dishonesty of the placing that really annoys me. Then I look at more bad news for Nomates Woodford from Provident Financial (PFG) which cvould well up a zero. Then I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) as its shares slide again and Arian Silver (AGQ) which is worthless. Adam Reynolds was not - as gleeful in house BB loon Wildes suggests - fired by Optibiotix (OPTI) - I explain why I remain uber bullish there. Finally today's interims from Vianet (VNET) are misleading and even after a 10% fall today the stock is a slam dunk sell.

Waseem Shakoor predicts UK Oil & Gas shares to fall to just 0.6p

Published 559 days ago

Well, the trend is his friend. The shares are now just 3.6p to sell having been c5p when the company announced it was entering into a £10 million death spiral. But Shakoor reckons the bad news is only just starting. Last night he tweeted:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - feeling sympathy with alleged City criminals and more on UKOG

Published 560 days ago

It looks as if the double share tip video will be out on Tuesday - www speeds in Greece are just too slow to upload it. In today's bearcast I start with the leaking of failed bids, ref Elegant Hotels(EHG). Who benefits and why do it? Then I look at the fund managers accused of colluding to drive down IPO prices. I really do have some sympathy with them and explain why. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Alba (ALBA). Finally I take apart today's ludicrous claims about growing poverty in Britain. They are pure bollocks.

Where now for Conroy dogs Karelian and Conroy Gold?

Published 561 days ago

I’ve been wondering what comes next for Prof Richard Conroy’s AIM vehicles Karelian (KDR) and Conroy Gold and Natural Resources (CGNR). From my review of their financial results to May of this year (see HERE and HERE) it is clear that they are both in deep trouble – they are running out of money fast and the results to last May show that quite clearly. Lord knows how bad it is now.

Tern – forget the portfolio update, it’s a death spiral, stupid

Published 564 days ago

AIM-listed Tern plc (TERN) has issued a portfolio update RNS this morning, but that is not the story. It waxes lyrical about how well Device Authority is doing – but what about the $10m fundraising? Step forward the Statement Re Issue of Convertible Unsecured Loan Notes and Loan To Device Authority for that is where the real beef is. It’s not pretty.

UK Oil & Gas - I'm no chartist but lets have a Christmas competition

Published 565 days ago

The chart of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) looks truly sickly. It might well have been a Zak Mir charting buy it looks that bad. However much paid promoters like Malcolm Graham Wood and the (dwindling) armies of its BBM fans say buy, the trend is clear. So how about a Christmas contest?

UK Oil & Gas - the Death Spiral Provider isn't daft, another tranche converted late Friday

Published 567 days ago

The providers of £10 million of death spiral finance for UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) are not daft. When this last resort funding was announced on 15 November they were initially on the hook for £7.5 million. That is a fair old whack and not surprisingly they are moving fast to reduce that exposure.

Telit Fraud Finally Begins to Tell It Like it Is. Sell at 145p

Bowleven - is there value here? Crown Ocean thinks so

UK Oil & Gas shares down by 20% after just 5% of death spiral drawn - slam dunk short

Published 572 days ago

There were those, such as our own Drunken Sailor, who argued that UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) could manage to absorb the rolling short of a £10 million death spiral announced last week quite easily and it would not hit the share price. The evidence with just 5% of the spiral drawn suggests otherwise and this makes the stock a slam dunk short.

UK Oil and Gas: Death Spiral Announcement Makes Shorting at 4.6p the trade for Christmas.

Published 576 days ago

I suggested last week that the time had come for oil stock promotion UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) to come clean about its financial position and update the market on where it stood on its flow testing at Broadford Bridge. I suggested the shares were a sure fire short at 4.6p.

Angus Energy shares crash - the read across to UK Oil & Gas - wake up and smell the coffee Morons

Published 577 days ago

Shares in Angus Energy (ANGS) have plunged by 36% to 17.125p today after news from the Lidsey Field which cannot be described as anything other than disappointing. Hope meets reality. At some stage the same process will see shares in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) crash. Let's start with Angus.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: More reflections on UKOG & Falanx as I pine for Greece and the fit young mums

Published 578 days ago

Sadly illness is still rife in this house so for this Thursday it is no coffee for me with the fit young mums. At least I shall be in Greece in five days time and that must be restorative to my health. In this podcast I start by looking back on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and its death spiral. I explain exactly how it works. Then a few further thoughts on Falanx (FLX) and why I am not selling our shares at this price. Then I look at Alexander Mining (AXM), another mega spoof from Clem Chambers, this time at ADVFN (AFN),  at "Nomates" disaster RM2 (RM2)Fishing Republic (FISH) - a good zero bet -  and at Regal Petroleum (RPT) which seems to be in a spot of bother in Ukraine.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - what the hell is happening with Purplebricks?

Published 579 days ago

Today's main bearcast is short as I feel rotten. Apologies. In it I cover events in Zimbawe and look forward to the execution of Africa's Hitler. I look at Purplebricks (PURP), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), West African Minerals (WAFM) and Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN)

Frontera – where are the Ud-2 well results? Waseem Shakoor scathing

Has the company been taking lessons from UK Oil and Gas (UKOG)?

Time Running Out at UK Oil & Gas

Published 583 days ago

I have to take my hat off to UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). It has kept the show on the road for far longer than is customary with these types of promotes and seems to have cemented its position as the nations’ favourite oil tiddler after the long reign of Gulf Keystone (GKP) in the good old days of "The Tod squad".

UK Oil & Gas - no news is, surely, bad news

Published 585 days ago

The one thing we all know about UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the massively over-valued company run by Lyin's Steve Sanderson is that it has virtually zero cash left and thus needs to get a placing away ASAP. To that end one would expect a proven ramper like Lyin' Steve to be give us ramptastic news from Broadford Bridge on an almost daily basis. Instead...

Three oil stocks - Waseem says compare and contrast value & hype

Waseem Shakoor asks - has UK Oil & Gas scrapped flow testing of Broadford Bridge

Published 591 days ago

The bear raider and professional northern git has been tweeting frantically with what he believes is photo evidence that key kit has been removed from Broadford Bridge meaning that UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) cannot be flow testing the well. That would seem odd as UK Oil needs good flow data to ramp the shares ahead of the bailout placing it so urgently needs now that all its cash has been spent. Curiouser and curiouser.

Video: the rampers meneage a trois made in heaven: David Lenigas, the LSE Asylum and UK Oil & Gas

Published 601 days ago

UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) may be out of cash and needing to raise £10 million PDQ. It has tried the old French bid ruse but was exposed, it has tried billions of barrels claims but been exposed so how to ramp the shares. Okay Big Dave may have sold many of  his UKOG shares into the last6 ramp but let's not discuss that, the cash crisis, the refusal to admit flow rates or go for any hard analysis. It is time to wheel out Big Dave for an uber soft interview c/o the LSE Asylum with a man who makes Graham Norton on Crooked Hillary Clinton seem like Frost on Nixon The shares are up by 2% on this ramp, a chance to sell some more at 4.45p

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 8+1 may not be worth 9 at Bushveld

Published 602 days ago

In a wide ranging bearcast I ask whether the demerger of Afratin by Bushveld (BMN) will necessarily create value for shareholders. Then it is onto the read acrosses from Pendragon's (PDG) statement, not least for BCA Marketplace (BCA). Then I look at the scandsalous cash-piss by the evil fake news poll tax funded BBC on Interserve (IRV) and what it means for Interserve. I look at MySquar (MYSQ) and how soon it is a zero, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Andalas (ADL) and then onto SalvaRx (SALV) where, the fugitive from justice in South Korea, old Jim Mellon has pumped in more cash but where a real crash crunch clearly looms.  Finally a few words on TrakM8 (TRAK)

Yet some poor sod was trying to buy his kale smoothie (Islington, right?) but the cashier was denying his coins.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - If it sounds too good to be true...

Published 604 days ago

If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. That brings me to the Cascade (nothing to do with Bill Gates) ramp and Servision (SEV) and a detailed look at why it is utterly worthless. I look at the bogus French bid stories at UK Oil & Gas and how the Froggies are actually dumping the shares ahead of a bailout placing and because they are monstrously overvalued. Its also placing ahoy at Magnolia (MAGP) and Andalas (ADL) which is so shite it makes UKOG look like BP. I look at Blenheim (BNR), the boardroom departures and why its shares are 50% overvalued. Finally I try to work out how soon Condor Gold (CNR) will have yet another placing and why I would not back it at any price.

Reader Poll results: What price the looming UK Oil & Gas bailout placing?

Published 605 days ago

So Jersey Oil & Gas got its placing away at a 21% discount and it is a company serving up good news. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has been serving up cold sick to its shareholders and is out of cash so needs a placing ASAP to avoid going tits up. UK Oil & Gas shares are now just 4.5p to sell so at what price do our readers expect the placing?  Look away now if you are long, strong, wrong and clearly smoking a bong.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - if Jersey Oil & Gas needs a 15-20% discount, what price the UKOG placing?

Published 605 days ago

I cannot blame Jersey Oil & Gas (JOG) for raising £20 million today. It's the smart move. But if it has to offer shares at a 15-20% discount when it's on a roll what sort of discount will UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) have to offer as it seeks to raise £5-10 million with things going badly wrong? I also look at MySquar (MYSQ) after today's article that proves FRAUD. What is not allowed on AIM these days? Would complicity in mass murder be a problem? I give up.

Reader Poll - what price the looming UK Oil & Gas bailout placing?

Published 606 days ago

UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is almost out of cash and the see-through from the latest Horse Hill transaction shows that at 4.775p, a market cap of £169 million is absurd as I explained HERE. So at what price will the rescue £5-10 million bailout be priced a?. We know that it was offered some cash at 2p a few weeks back but that was before all the bad news. With a placing surely imminent the deadline to vote in this reader poll is midnight tonight (19 October)

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The Horse Hill Maths that just don't stack up for UKOG and that $15 million placing by Cornhill "outed"

Published 606 days ago

On the agenda today as I prepare for my weekly coffee morning with my baby son Joshua and the fit young mums is: Andalas (ADL) a joke broker note, MySquar (MYSQ) another RNS which is all smoke and mirrors and a desperate attempt to prop up the shares but SP Angel refuses to force the company to come clean on the lies in the last RNS and the fraud. Pathetic. I look at Interserve (IRV) and its latest dire news. We did warn you. I "out" the company that was truing to raise $15 million via Cornhill yesterday. I look at former ZAI clients whose days on AIM are numbered and finally I read across from yesterday's Horse Hill trade involving Regency (RGM) and Alba (ALBA) to show just how monstrously overvalued is, out of cash and desperate to place,  UK Oil & Gas (UKOG)

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the horrid truth behind Doorsteps.co.uk, a crowdfunding scandal and hot Telit gossip

Published 608 days ago

Yesterday I discussed Doorsteps.co.uk which claims that it will flog your house for £99. I now look more closely at its history and the utterly shameless way that Crowdcube raised £400,000 for it; at the fact free and unquestioning BJ's its 19 year old founder has received from Fleet Street and speculate about how bad its metrics really are. That it has raised cash so easily is bad news for Purplebricks as it is now funded to nibble at its market share and so will be others until they all go bust. But it will be too late for Purplebricks by then. I then have hot gossip on Telit (TCM) which shows up the FT's dictation from PR men taking hacks for the fools they are and reinforces the shorting case big time. I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Conroy Gold & Natural Resources (CGNR), both need to place ASAP and in both cases it will be ugly. I also remind you again what UKOG is NOT saying.

Operational Update from UKOG - 100% ramptastic shite, placing ahoy red alert

And so lo and behold Lyin's Steve issued the release and the Bulletin Board Morons fell for it (again) and the shares zoomed from 4.05p to 5.35p-5.4p. It is placing ahoy.

Could UK Oil & Gas head back to 1p? Waseem Shakoor muses

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: if you thought Cloudtag & MySquar showed investors were bonkers meet Helios & Matheson

Published 612 days ago

I start with a trip down memory lane this October 13th. It's back to 1987. can you remember why? Then, if you thought punters in Cloudtag (CTAG) or MySquar (MYSQ) were bonkers ( well they are) then meet Helios & Matheson. This tale will have you in stitches. Unless you are a MySquar moron in which case you will probably see it as an investment opportunity. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the Frogs selling and the slump to 2p or less. BTW Lucian Miers is now well in the money and added to his short yesterday. I explain why i3 Energy (i3E) is doomed and will crater soon and also go into the mounting woes of Conroy Gold & Natural Resources (CGNR) after this morning's news.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 18 minutes to the fit young mums

Published 613 days ago

I am in a bit of a rush today. The Mrs has all day meetings so it is just me and Joshua. That means we get an extra 30 minutes at the fit young mums coffee morning. But what do I say to a FYM? And what might she say back. That is clearly the big issue of the day. After that I look at MySquar (MYSQ) after Darren's meeting last night, at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) - placing at 2p? - Sound Energy (SOU) and Echo (ECHO) both slam dunk sells and similar to UKOG in many ways.I comment, en passant, on Renold (RNO) and the idea of pricing power and finally warn you that Telit (TCM) is indeed heading for 0p. And thank you for subscribing to ShareProphets. After 28 days we are within spitting distance of breakeven.

Beaufort on MySquar - is this the worst broker note of the year?

Published 614 days ago

Clearly no-one told Belfort Securities that its star client in the fraud sector, MySquar (MYSQ) was going to have a disastrous lack of profits warning today which exposed how it had massively misled investors for months. Because yesterday it urged its clients to fill their boots at 4.02p with a 21p target. At least this shows that at Belfort the Chinese walls between research and broking have no chinks in them. The shares are now 2.98p and are worth 0p. Over to Belfort....

An Open Letter to SP Angel, Beaufort Securities and AIM Regulation re shamed MySquar

Published 614 days ago

I have written a letter to Nomad SP Angel, broker Beaufort Securities and the oxymorons at AIM Regulation re shamed MySquar (MYSQ). Has it committed a massive breach of AIM Rules or Securities fraud or both and will anyone do anything about it. The letter follows:

MySquar - another marriage made in heaven: it's presenting to LSE Asylum members tonight. Or is it?

Published 614 days ago

After today's shocking revelations from MySquar (MYSQ) only a complete anhd utter moron would consider buying the shares. Luckily for CEO Erik Schaer he is set to meet a few dozen of the stupidest people on this planet this very evening.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: MySquar I accuse you of securities fraud & why UKOG is fecked

Published 614 days ago

I go through the timeline in detail. It is quite clear that the 31 July placing by MySquar (MYSQ) was securities fraud. Why the Nomad and broker have not quit in light of the trading statement today defies belief. But I guess this is the World's Most Successful Growth Market. I then look at Character Group (CCT) and why I think that the reaction to today's statement is overdone. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas and I explain why its shareholder list and market cap pose a problem as it urgently tries to do a placing to keep the lights on after yesterday's dire news. Finally I urge you all to read today's statement from Countryside Properties (CSP) which tells you in black and white how much trouble the housing market is in.

Cowboys and Injuns- A UK Oil & Gas groupie fully rebutted by cynical expert

Published 616 days ago

Injuneer is a man claiming to be a drilling engineer but whose "analysis" of Horse Hill and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) suggests otherwise and demonstrates once again that a (very) little knowledge is a dangerous thing.  His "critique" of the analysis of Professor David Smythe is today rebutted by the good Prof in a way that shows again how utterly overvalued UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) shares are today at just under 7p. The Prof writes:

Frontera – YA cashes in convertible shares at 0.09p: share price madness!

Published 635 days ago

AIM-listed, Cayman Islands registered, Houston (USA)-based and with Georgia operations Frontera (FRR) has announced that YA II PN Ltd (aka Yorkville) has cashed in by converting convertible stock at just 0.09p. Andrew Bell of Regency Mines No longer a self confessed Moron - dumps ALL UK Oil & Gas shares

Published 637 days ago

On 8th September I penned a long piece explaining why the valuation of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), then 9p, was crackers and anyone owning was a moron. My friend Andrew Bell posted a response saying that his company owned the shares, that he was not a moron and this is why I had it all wrong. In light of news today I repost Mr Bell's comments:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Some basic maths for Andrew Bell and the UK Oil & Gas poltroons

Published 646 days ago

UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) nutter Michael Boyle wants to trap me and report me to the FCA. What a prize poltroon. Andrew Bell has been selling lots of UK Oil & Gas shares but - with millions still on the book - tries to argue that they are cheap. Hmmm. I have a second  maths lesson for my friend Mr Bell following on from this one yesterday. Then it is onto my old friend the offshore based asset stripper Jim Mellon and one of the many dogs in his stable, the related party snakefest that is FastForward (FFWD). Clearly it is placing ahoy as the company has zero cash and grotesque PLC costs but I explain why the shares, at 9.5p, are monstrously overvalued - fair value is sub 5p. Sorry Jim.

UK Oil & Gas - as it prepares for placing more ramptastic news from Horse Hill: DO THE MATH MORONS!

Published 647 days ago

Remember Horse Hill? That was the original breakthrough site for UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). It was the Gatwick Gusher. It was the site that lyin' Steve Sanderson claimed contained a billion barrels of oil. Then he said he never claimed that. Then a video emerged of him saying that. So is that one big lie or two? Anyhow as UK Oil & Gas tries to ramp its shares ahead of a placing we have more ramptastic news from the Hill.

Published 648 days ago

I covered the Interquest (ITQ) scandal in a separate bearcast HERE. If you like bad language or tales of AIM wrongdoing you will love it. Elsewhere I look at the latest utterly meaningless trading statement from Audioboom (BOOM). Why is its CEO Rob Proctor so averse not only to defending free speech but also to handing out metrics that actuially mean anything. He is another man for the job of lavatory attendant at the Athens bus station. And BTW this company is going to run out of cash AGAIN. I also look at Havelock Europa (HVE), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and 88 Energy (88E). Now SIGH UP FOR A HOT SHARE TIP FREE HERE NOW!

UK Oil & Gas - you cannot say that Broadford Bridge is commercial - but the share price discounts success: placing ahoy?

Published 648 days ago

The word on the street is that - having raised £6.5 million (gross) at just 0.8p back in May -  UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has been so startled by the spectacular - and largely unwarranted - re-rate of its shares that it is lining up another, much larger, placing alberit at a material discount to the current share price. The shares raced ahead again yesterday as private investors again fundamentally misunderstood an RNS.

I had meant to resume regular bearcasts on September 1, but just in time remembered that yesterday I should have been celebrating four years of wedded bliss. So, in order to keep the Mrs happy, I postponed the relaunch until today. But now, not for those averse to bad language, I am back and kick off with an explanation of why shares in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) are just ludicrously overvalued. That is not to say they might not go up in the short term but in the end they must, on current facts, be grossly overvalued.

Update: UK Oil & Gas – Regency dumps again

Published 654 days ago

This afternoon at 1.38pm came another RNS from AIM-listed Regency Mining (RGM). Having dumped 26% of its holding in AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) as announced yesterday evening, it has dumped a further 34.7% of the UKOG confetti it got from the sale of 1.9% of Horse Hill Developments to UKOG.

UK Oil & Gas - Regency Mines dumps 26%

Published 654 days ago

I noted the other day that if I were Andrew Bell, Chairman of AIM-listed Regency Mines (RGM), and was about to be handed £1.28 million worth of UK Oil & Gas confetti, I think I know what I’d do with it. Last night (after hours, natch) we learned that Regency had dumped 26% of its recently acquired holding in also AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG).

My top four short-able shorts in London

Published 658 days ago

It is all very well saying that tiddly little companies like Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) or Eden Research (EDEN) are worthless cash guzzling frauds heading for 0p but they are just very hard to short. That both stocks will hit zero is a given. In the end frauds always run out of other people's money. What you want are stocks you can short which look almost certain to collapse. And right now you need them badly as a hedge. A hedge against what?

Egdon a buy at 9.25p - worth 35.5p claims house broker VSA after operational update

Published 672 days ago

I have no axe to grind here and the caveat is that the house broker is paid by the client to write research so it is not impartial. But the upside predicted here for Egdon Resources (EDR) seems enormous and VSA is more honest than most brokers (okay there is a low bar in that contest) and as a lower risk play on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) ramping this may be of interest. Today's note reads:

BREAKING: UK Oil & Gas slammed for lying by top expert, says will have to frack: calls for cancellation of permit

Published 675 days ago

UK Oil & Gas and its partners in Kimmeridge Oil & Gas have sought an amendment to their permit from West Sussex County Council to allow a continuation of drilling at Broadford Bridge. Top geologist, David K. Smythe, Emeritus Professor of Geophysics, University of Glasgow has submitted a detailed application which slams UK Oil & gas for, inter alia, lying about what it was doing and claims that it will have to frack to have any hope of making this operational commercial. On that basis he asks , in a detailed and damning submission, that drilling be halted at once. We have the full report below and it appears damning. The highly regarded professor states:

Lucian Miers continues his World War Two analogy as UKOG shares slide like a dead German body on a Russian ice lake

Published 689 days ago

Oh how the Lucian Miers baiters were having fun a couple of days ago as UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) shares hit 11p. The Bulletin Boards were full of folks gloating about impending poverty for Lucian and for bears such as Waseem Shakoor. The biggest morons were adding to their holdings as they talked of ever more fanciful targets. Oh dear, as wre speak it is those who averaged up who are now hurting and hurting badly. The shares are just 6p-6.15p.

Lucian Miers continues his world war two theme as UK Oil & Gas shares surge again

I haven’t received such joyous vitriol on twitter since I called Cloudtag a sell at 7p and saw the shares rise to 20p. Tom Winnifrith gleefully points out that he is glad to see someone take over as the Bulletin Board Moron's No 1 hate figure, at least for now.

UK Oil & Gas - It is great fun to laugh at Lucian Miers but....remember Sound Energy

The shares are now 4.65p and the Bulletin Boards and the comments section on this website are full of posts by folks laughing at my old friend, the Bard of the Boleyn. So has East London's most feared short seller lost his marbles as well as a vast amount of dosh?

Déjà Vu at UK Oil & Gas: A Sell

Published 700 days ago

UK Oil & Gas, the untrue RNS and a Nomad with no balls & not fit for purpose: WH Ireland

Published 704 days ago

Every AIM company must have a Nominated Adviser, a NOMAD, to retain its listing. A Nomad is an FCA regulated financial adviser which charges an arm and a leg as a retainer to ensure that every RNS issued is 1005 accurate and that the company also complies with all the other AIM Rules. Not, as the LSE has made clear, that there is any downside in breaking all the rules or telling outright lies. That brings us to UK Oil & Gas (UKOG).

Is Tom Winnifrith right to out companies doing placings?

Published 756 days ago

The busting of a placing by AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) at 1p by Tom Winnifrith has caused a bit of controversy. It is not the first time he has been accused of being irresponsible by blowing the lid on a placing only for it to be pulled or the price dropped. Anyone left holding the baby gets their fingers burned – in the recent example quite badly if they had been buying into the ramp at north of 1.4p only to see the company raise cash at just 0.8p. Is it right?

Lagos Securities had tried to raise the cash at 1p but we outed them and the price had to be slashed. The shares were 1.4p before the roadshow started. So how would you describe a placing that has seen the market cap slashed from £36 million to £22 million pre-new money as the shares tumbled. Over to odious prig "little" Steve Sanderson.

UK Oil & Gas and Horse Hill - the most ludicrous pre-placing ramp in the history of AIM exposed

There are two statements from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) today. One is a hard financial transaction which demonstrates clearly that UK Oil & Gas shares are horrendously overvalued and the other is the most ludicrous attaempt at share ramping in the history of AIM. Defenders of Steve Sanderson, UKOG's CEO, say that he is trying to distance himself from the Aussie share ramper David Lenigas. Frankly even Dave would have struggled to sign off on today's ramping. It is cringe-making and it is noticeable that although it relates to a Horse Hill study, no other Horse Shite company has dared publish these ridiculous claims.

I reckon the number is now c£1.5 million which means a placing is needed fast. Fellow Horse Shite play Solo (SOLO) neess a placing within two weeks to pay its commitments in Bongo Bongo land hence today's ramptastic (misleading) RNS.

For those not familiar with the City of Inspector Morse. Oxford is known as the City of lost causes. Wadham College is within the university a bastion of the left and has always been active in promoting lefty causes and a Wadhamite, which conveniently ryhmes with sodomite, is someone who attends this loathsome institution and thus knows all about lost causes.  That brings me to Alba Minerals (ALBA) - a reader posting as Wadhamite posts on this website:

Why Horse Hill shares are massively over-ramped - a top broker explains using UKOG's own maths

Published 1216 days ago

Yesterday I pointed out how David Lenigas and others were ramping Horse Hill like mad to get rescue placings away for companies such as Solo which are at death's door. The ramp continues today with new flow data. But in a private email to clients a leading broker explains just why the Leni-maths does not stack up at all.

Shameless ramping by David Lenigas & the Horse Hill Companies ahead of bailout placings

Published 1217 days ago

At least two of the companies involved in Horse Hill will go bust within weeks if they do not issue shares for a bailout placing and thus the ramping of today's (probably good but not great) news from Surrey was shameless with ther fat Aussie Share Pusher David "I won't say who made money from Danadav" Lenigas at the fore.

Lenigas Cuba – strange dealings on Companies House

Published 1272 days ago

In its Admission Document to ISDX, Lenigas Cuba (CUBA) states that it has acquired 40 shares in TravelWelcome Limited which represents 40% of the issued share capital of that UK incorporated entity. Being a Companies House anorak, any excuse to poke around is taken with both hands and what we find is very odd, for it appears that CUBA has been rather more active than that statement gives credit for. Here is what I found – perhaps Big Dave Lenigas would care to explain what has been going on?

UKOG – tell us about your purchase of Angus Energy shares: who got the bunce? Did you lie in an RNS? It seems as if you did

Published 1273 days ago

On 3 Feb 2014 the then AIM-listed Lenigas ramp UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) announced that it had purchased a 6% stake in Angus Energy Limited (now called Angus Energy Holdings UK Limited) – see HERE. The price disclosed for this transaction was £368,000, to be settled in UKOG shares to be issued at 0.8p (implying the issue of 46 million shares).

UKOG - deal termination spotted, but what about the cash?

Published 1273 days ago

Yesterday I asked what had happened to a deal under which AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) was to buy some eploration assets from Angus Energy, as announced by UKOG on 15 Jan 2014. Having hunted for the answer myself (and failed), two readers spotted what I had not and so with hat-tips to Vines and Pousis we now know that UKOG announced the termination of the deal on 16 May 2014. But this now brings up even more serious questions over this.

UK Oil & Gas - what happened to this deal Lenigas?

Published 1274 days ago

On 15 Jan 2014, AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) announced that it had agreed to buy some assets from Angus Energy. This was further reported as a post-balance sheet event in the FY13 Accounts (see note 12). But there was never any confirmation that the deal had completed. What happened?

UK Oil and Gas – a sweet deal for David Lenigas and Donald Strang

Published 1274 days ago

Holders of AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) have had a fair old ride since the company emerged from the wreckage of its former existence as Sarantel Group plc. The restructuring at the end of 2013 saw the immediate injection of £150,000 of new money brought in to the company in return for 82% of the equity. So who paid what? Step forward David Lenigas and Donald Strang.

UK Oil and Gas: Placing RNSs of 10 June 2015 - where is the Companies House filing?

Published 1275 days ago

While Big Dave Lenigas was still running the show at AIM-listed UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) two RNSs were released on 10 June 2015 which announced a placing of 266,666,667 new shares at a price of 2.25p per share. AIM confirmed the admission of those shares to trading on the morning of 17 June 2015. So where is the Companies house filing for this?

David Lenigas inspired Bulletin Board Moron of the day - ADVFN Asylum

I leave you to marvel at rwauu from the ADVFN Afriag (AFRI) asylum but also let you know, underneath, what the City professionals think.

Fewer folk believe in Santa, The Tooth Fairy or the Horse Hill oil find - Alba placing falls badly short

Published 1337 days ago

I wonder how long it will be before that annual ritual occurs when the Daily Mail discovers a CofE vicar who has foolishly told the kiddies that Santa does not exist. The poor chap gets pilloried for a week or so before even the Mail accepts that he cannot be burned at the stake for telling the truth. I have felt a bit like the poor Rev when pointing out that whatever Steve Sanderson of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) says on camera – and then denies he ever said – there is NOT 100 billion barrels of oil at Horse Hill. Maybe the tide is now turning.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast special - the David Lenigas brand badly tarnished could LGO be a zero?

You cannot say I did not warn you about LGO Energy (LGO). After today's news I ask if it could go to zero? The answer is yes and the shares are a stonking sell still. But the wider David Lenigas brand is also badly tarnished. I will have another dynamite revelation on Lenigas Cuba (CUBA) shortly, Afriag (AFRI) needs a placing big time and the Horse Hill hype is being shown to be just that so UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has real issues. It is not a happy Monday for Big Dave.

UK Oil & Gas: What a shock the market doesn’t care about Markwells Wood

Published 1340 days ago

There is one thing that the “businesses” David Lenigas sets up rely on; his instinctive ability to promote overvalued paper. Despite this the Lenigas alchemy only works for so so long. As soon as Britain’s best paper salesman moves on from one of his “businesses” (once it’s reached a certain stage of “maturity”, of course) the company’s share price typically follows him quickly out of the door. This pattern has been repeated time and time again. Tom recently pointed out the miserable long-term performance of LGO Energy (LGO), but today it is UK Oil & Gas’ (UKOG) near terminal-looking decline that caught my eye. Worry not though UKOG’ers you have Stephen “I never said 100 billion barrels, although I was captured on camera saying just that” Sanderson at the helm.

Open letter to UK Oil & Gas’ Nomad – Does it consider Stephen Sanderson a fit and proper person?

Published 1343 days ago

Last night, the BBC’s Inside Out London documentary revealed that UK Oil & Gas’ (UKOG) Stephen Sanderson was the original source that claimed there are “between 50 and 100billion barrels of oil in place in the ground” in the Weald. This wildly optimistic figure was at the heart of April’s Horse Hill propaganda campaign, which caused the shares prices of all the listed companies involved to rocket. UK Oil & Gas half-heartedly tried to distance itself from these wilds estimates, but it is now unequivocally clear that it was behind them. Stephen Sanderson surely now has to go. Let’s see what the company’s Nomad (scandal plagued WH Ireland) has to say about this.

UK Oil & Gas Exclusive: watch the BBC destroy Stephen Sanderson’s credibility HERE

Published 1343 days ago

Last night, the BBC published a previously unseen, yet explosive interview with UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) Executive Chairman Stephen Sanderson. It looks like Mr Sanderson has been less than forthcoming in his explanation of who was behind this spring’s outrageous Gatwick Gusher ramp. Having categorically denied that UK Oil & Gas had anything to do with the “100billion barrels of oil beneath the Weald” claims, video evidence now strongly suggests that Sanderson himself was the direct source. At 0.36p, is Afriag worth a gamble?

Published 1370 days ago

A seemingly innocuous Tweet from David Lenigas on Monday, distancing himself from the looming Sefton Resources (SER) catastrophe, might be an indicator of good things to come for shares of Afriag (AFRI). At 0.36p last seen, Afriag is worth a touch under £5million. There has been little to no market interest in this stock for most of this year. In the last 54 trading session, Afriag has recorded 22 zero volume days and the share price has flat lined. So why might Lenigas feel so committed to this apparent dead duck of a stock?

UK Oil & Gas: delivers a dose of reality

Published 1372 days ago

This morning, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) issued a far more realistic vision of what this company can realistically hope to achieve. Forget the Horse Hill pipedream of billions of (unextractable) barrels for a moment and pay close attention to the numbers in today’s announcement. No one has ever doubted that UK Oil & Gas could be a viable business. However, the reality is that it is most unlikely ever to live up to the blue (pie in the) sky fantasy many appear to have bought into.

UK Oil & Gas; Horse Hill fantasy numbers downgraded by 22%

Published 1391 days ago

I suppose a downgrade of fantasy oil estimates is about as worthwhile as an upgrade of fantasy oil estimates, but nevertheless this morning’s announcement from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) represents a significant reduction in the embarrassing hype surrounding Horse Hill. Schlumberger’s last “independent report” about this absurd project estimated that total oil in place, across the three so-called target areas, was 255million barrels of oil per square mile (bopsm). This morning, Schlumberger slashed this figure to 199.9million bopsm. And yet there are still some out there hailing this as brilliant news…

Has Britain’s Better than Buffett, Chris Oil lost £0.5 million since July 13?

Market abuser Chris Oil modestly claimed that he was better than Warren Buffett when it came to stock selection. But it seems that the Sage of B&B had a rather bad month or two. In fact his losses on just three stocks since early July appear to be almost £0.5 million. Given that Oil reckons that his family discovered the North Sea, this may well be small change to the Sage of Fantasy, but we suspect however that it is not.

The Chris Oil portfolio is tanking: what has happened to Britain’s Buffett?

Aussie hydrocarbons explorer 88 Energy (88E) has been raising money to fund its ‘Icewine’ project in Alaska. It has a conditional $50 million debt facility announced on 24 June sort of agreed with Bank of America subject, amongst other things, to due diligence although there has been no news of progress on that ever since. A two-part placing has been going on, with the intention of raising 12 million Aussie dollars at one Aussie cent per share (about 0.47 pence). The company announced on 22 July that the book build had been completed and was heavily oversubscribed. The first tranche of about £800,000 has been completed, with the rest subject to an EGM. UK Oil & Gas latest Horse Hill ramp falls flat on its face

Published 1460 days ago

Another day, another stupidity test from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Unfortunately for David Lenigas and the Horse Hill stock promoters it looks like the message is finally settling in on the British investing public, as it suffers an acute attack of souped-up report fatigue. UK Oil & Gas’ share price surged to 2.75p at the open, only to retreat instantly. As of writing UK Oil & Gas is trading at 2.3, down slightly on the day. This clearly isn’t part of the plan and we will no doubt hear more about the wonders of Horse Hill from Schlumberger any day now…

ShareProphets Translation Service – Schlumberger’s Horse Hill disclaimer

Published 1473 days ago

This morning, we’ve read one of the funniest disclaimers we’ve ever come across. We are, of course, talking about the latest ramptastic missive from the Horse Hill stock promoters. The Schlumberger report, paid for exclusively by UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), has been presented as even more bullish than the absurd Nutech report of a couple of months ago. What is most amusing about this, apart from the crazy reaction of a herd of private investors, are the health warnings that come attached to it. Even UK Oil & Gas was forced to admit in its RNS “No person or company other than UKOG may directly or indirectly rely upon the contents of its report”. Whatever else happens at Horse Hill, no one can say they weren’t warned.

Doing the Horse Hill maths for Uk Oil & Gas & David Lenigas

Published 1473 days ago

All the Horse Hill shares were suspended yesterday morning pending an announcement in relation to Horse Hill.  It caused lots of speculation and some think there is a big reserve update coming, I don't agree (I was completely wrong - see update below) but it set me wondering what could be going on. It can't be a placing, as so many companies are suspended, and a co-ordinated placing would be tricky; maybe the plan is to list Horse Hill developments, it could be that. Or maybe their partner has done something that they need to tell the markets about.

Horse Hill #1 – Recommended Testing Programme

Published 1508 days ago

In my spare time, i.e. when I am not writing articles, I like to think of myself as a passable petroleum engineer. So I thought I would mock up the memo I would have written to Messrs Lenigas of UK Oil & Gas (#UKOG), Sanderson & Ritson if they had had the gumption to ask for my advice. I can't blame Messrs Lenigas and Sanderson for not calling me as they don't know me from Adam, but Neil, well all I can say is I'm hurt, deeply hurt.

DECC confirms Horse Hill Developments has not applied for flow testing of HH-1

Published 1510 days ago

This morning The Telegraph delivered another broadside to Horse Hill. It claimed that Horse Hill Developments Ltd has not applied to the regulator, the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), “for permission to begin flow testing the Horse Hill-1 well in the Weald Basin.” This flies directly in the face of claims made in RNS announcements by the six listed companies participating in Horse Hill, not to mention David Lenigas on Twitter. We’ve spent much of the day seeking official confirmation of the accuracy of The Telegraph’s story. In the last hour we’ve received it.

Don’t Moan About the Share Price – Trade It

Published 1521 days ago

If you go onto most of the popular share chat forums they will be full of people constantly moaning about the share price. The majority of PIs obviously believe that the shares they hold should be worth a lot more – otherwise you wouldn’t buy them in the first place – but most lack the patience needed to just hold and wait for the fundamentals to be reflected in the market cap of the company, assuming of course that you’ve picked a good company in the first place.

Horse Hill and the credibility-killing clarification

Published 1524 days ago

This morning’s “Clarification of Press Comment” from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), and the other companies participating in Horse Hill, heaps shame on all involved in last Thursday’s monumental ramp. At ShareProphets, we were the first to criticise the BBC, ITV, Sky News and all the other broadcasters, who leapt so obediently onto this propaganda bandwagon, for their deeply misleading coverage. Hundreds, if not thousands, of private investors bought stocks in the Horse Hill nags, thanks to the appalling laziness of too many journalists. Within 24 hours, most of these ordinary people were facing losses of upwards of 35% on their “investments”. This disgraceful episode illustrates once again why AIM is in such desperate need of comprehensive reform.

Do the Maths: Parsing the Horse Hill Press Releases

Can UK Oil & Gas live up to the Horse Hill Hype?

Published 1525 days ago

I’ve refrained from commenting on last week’s Horse Hill news until some of the fuss surrounding it had died down a bit. This onshore oil field, located near Gatwick, was drilled back in 2014 and the share prices of the companies involved plummeted on the initial results from the Upper Portland sands.

Horse Hill – the best stock promotion in years!!!

Published 1530 days ago

Eventually a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money on UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). This morning’s announcement from the company, laughably titled “Significant upgrade of the Horse Hill discovery”, has been wrapped in one of the most skillfully crafted and epic stock promotions of recent years. I correctly predicted this “Horse Hill super-ramp” was coming, last month. Today it is just sad to watch gullible and lazy “credible” journalists from the BBC, ITN and Sky News fall over themselves to interview David Lenigas. God knows what hysteria tomorrow’s papers will carry.

Horse Hill; the stupidity of buying rumours

Published 1697 days ago

At about 3.30pm yesterday, Brokerman Dan revealed his exclusive scoop that Horse Hill was about to yield a commercial oil discovery. This triggered a mini-buying frenzy, which drove the share prices of the listed companies involved in Horse Hill much higher. As the most exposed Horse Hill play, UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) flew from 1.16p, to hit an intraday high of 1.7p, all within the last hour of trading! This morning, as a flurry of RNSs hit the market and the dust settled, it turned out that Dan’s figures were well off the mark. A commercial discovery hasn’t been announced (read the RNSs thoroughly for confirmation of this). Also, the current size of the discovery is “only” a preliminary estimate of 3.1million barrels of oil in place, not 15million to 20million barrels. In the ensuing sharp sell off, UK Oil & Gas is back down to 1.15p. Dan is likely to come in for criticism for his reporting of this event, but this is misguided. Here’s why.

David Lenigas: Misinformed or taking the Twitter Piss on Horse Hill

Published 1705 days ago

The tweets of David Lenigas have been controversial in the past - see here  - but now another episode comes to light which appears to beggar belief. Quite simply Mr Lenigas appears to have made tweet claims about Horse Hill which his own team says are untrue. For the avoidance of doubt I am a shareholder in a HH company (UK Oil & Gas) and I reckon oil will be found but that does not excuse what has gone on.

UK Oil & Gas: David Lenigas Hits Back!

Published 1711 days ago

Earlier today we ran an article by Doc Holiday slating yesterday’s placing by UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) – you can read it HERE. I commented on the matter in my BearCast HERE.  David Lenigas has now been in touch and wishes to put the record straight. The contention regards a tweet David sent on Monday evening blaming shorters for the price being weaker, only for the company to announce a placing on Wednesday night – that is covered in full in Doc’s article. Here is what Mr Lenigas has to say:

UK Oil & Gas – a shocking placing & a disgraceful tweet from Mr Lenigas

Horse Hill a 20% COS say the bears - Mr David Lenigas explains why that made up number is bollocks

Why did David Lenigas step down from Leni Gas & Oil Board today…from the Horse’s Mouth

Published 1755 days ago

The company was called Leni Gas & Oil (LGO) and was founded by David Lenigas. So when Mr Lenigas steps down from its board you do have to ask why? The Great man is on annual leave but we have swapped emails and so from the horses’ mouth:

UK Oil & Gas – we are up on this tip but the fireworks are about to start at Horse Hill!

Published 1768 days ago

This seems pretty dramatic. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is ponying up £750,000 – which it has after the recent placing to take its stake in Horse Hill Development to 20% from 7.5%. Given that it also owns 6% of Angus Energy its see through stake in the field is now 15.4%.

Horse Hill; ramp, rumour, place!

Published 1769 days ago

Ever the showman, this morning’s RNS from David Lenigas’ UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is a perfect pump primer for the soon to spud Horse Hill exploration well. UK Oil & Gas has just upped its direct stake in Horse Hill Development Ltd, which has a 65% participating interest in the Horse Hill Field, to 20%, for a £750,000 commitment. Apparently this purchase is “being funded from UKOG's existing cash balances”, which is probably the Australian for “expect a placement tomorrow”. But I’m not very good at foreign languages, so what do I know?

Under starters orders; a final look at the form of the Horse Hill runners

Published 1784 days ago

Over the last couple of weeks the share prices of the six listed companies participating in the Horse Hill oil exploration project have pulled back. Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) have both placed. Solo Oil (SOLO) has been treading water since it placed in mid June. Regency Mines (RGM) looks almost certain to place imminently, despite having raised money in May and the same can probably be said for Doriemus (DOR), though the latter’s financial position is certainly better. This leaves Stellar Resources (STG), which of the six is probably the best funded and might not need a Horse Hill cash injection. Time will tell if this view is correct, but with the spud only days away, now might be the time to place your bets if you fancy a gamble on the madness of crowds. Below I take a look at the runners.

ShareProphets Tip of the Week – A Total Punt: Alba Minerals at 0.6p

David Lenigas in video action explaining why UK Oil & Gas is so exciting

Alba Resources: shit or glory on Horse Hill

Published 1792 days ago

Today’s Horse Hill news hasn’t done much to lift the share prices of the listed participating companies. Perhaps this is to be expected, as approval from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change was surely just a formality. Even so, the co-owners of Horse Hill Developments Ltd are experiencing something of a market lull, but I still expect this will prove to be the calm before the storm. Although there is the looming spectre of placements, it is hard to see Horse Hill fever reaching anything other than epic proportions. When I first covered this drill, last week, I was a little flippant when I picked Alba Resources (ALBA) as the stock I might take a gamble on, based solely on it having the fewest number of shares in issue. This morning, Alba provided its half yearly report and I think I might have to change my mind.

Doriemus: Disposal Makes Sense. The shares are a buy and comrade Brokerman Dan is wrong

Why Horse Hill could be Mosman on steroids

Published 1798 days ago

Whoever said that ShareProphets is a one trick pony?! Proving that this view of our work is entirely misguided, I thought I’d throw in another Horse Hill article onto today’s roster... “Not more bloody Horse Hill” I hear our avid readers cry, but this is likely to be the story that dominates British resource small caps over the rest of the summer. Given the wild reaction we’ve recently seen to Mosman Oil and Gas’ (MSMN) succession of oil “discoveries” in New Zealand (which, by its own admission, it doesn’t even know if they are commercial yet) the scene could be set for ecstatic market rapture if rumours ever leak from Horse Hill’s Surrey drill site. This could end up being the highest profile onshore exploration campaign ever seen in the UK and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a temporary campsite springs up outside the gates, as desperate private speculators resort to whatever means they can to gain access to information. Although the smart ones will probably just hang out in the local pubs, when shifts end...

Why I'm not convinced by Horse Hill

Published 1798 days ago

I’ve been watching all the excitement surrounding the drilling of the Horse Hill 1 well in the UK, but personally am not convinced! I find myself wondering why NASDAQ-listed company Magellan Petroleum relinquished a 65% share of the PEDL137 license (which contains the Horse Hill prospect) simply in return for the farminee drilling it prior to its expiry date on September 30 2014.

**REPUBLISHED** Horse Hill – which participating companies offer best value?

Published 1798 days ago

This updated piece clarifies that the listed companies mentioned own stakes in Horse Hill Developments Limited, which owns 65% of the Horse Hill oil exploration project.

Since the beginning of June, there has been increasing speculation concerning the upcoming Horse Hill oil exploration drill in Surrey. Share prices of the four original David Lenigas influenced companies have increased by 200-300% in this time and I expect each of them to move even higher in the next few weeks, as the excitement increases the closer we get to the commencement of drilling. On Friday, two further companies joined the Horse Hill party in the form of Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA) and Regency Mines (RGM). It is worth mentioning that Regency also has a 14.9% stake in Alba, but the question remains which of the Horse Hill horses could be the largest winner?
