Notes from Underground: The most-read stories of the week, and an animation putting $110 billion in perspective

Last week, Bill Gates once again became the world's richest person at $110 billion. Here's a short animation that shows what your £5.99 per month could do.

Bearcast

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - If it sounds too good to be true...

If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. That brings me to the Cascade (nothing to do with Bill Gates) ramp and Servision (SEV) and a detailed look at why it is utterly worthless. I look at the bogus French bid stories at UK Oil & Gas and how the Froggies are actually dumping the shares ahead of a bailout placing and because they are monstrously overvalued. Its also placing ahoy at Magnolia (MAGP) and Andalas (ADL) which is so shite it makes UKOG look like BP. I look at Blenheim (BNR), the boardroom departures and why its shares are 50% overvalued. Finally I try to work out how soon Condor Gold (CNR) will have yet another placing and why I would not back it at any price.

Servision – great news for Cynical Bear’s Sub-Standard Shockers XI

You really do have to feel sorry for Cynical Bear. One minute he has a fully fit squad to choose from and then one by one they drop like flies, either with fitness issues or just simply keel over. I’d been getting a bit concerned that he’d struggle to put out a full team, but out of the blue there is good news for him. No need to turn to the back pages of the tabloid press for the big stories of sporting drama, we have it all here at ShareProphets: AIM-listed Servision (SEV) is to put in a transfer request.

Servision – first tranche of (not Bill Gates’) cash received…..and a clarification

There was no great surprise from AIM-listed Servision (SEV) in relation to the arrival of the first lump of cash from (nothing to do with Bill Gates) Cascade as announced this morning. But there were a few interesting clarifications in relation to the personal guarantee of Servision head honcho Mr Gidon Tahan which are worthy of comment. As for the subscription at a (still) incredible premium, it still all looks too good to be true.

Servision – more on that grant of security over c. 10m shares

Yesterday we asked a series of question relating to AIM-listed Servision and its dealings with an obscure American entity called Cascade which has nothing to do with Bill Gates, when it emerged that it seems that the personal guarantee offered to Cascade by Servision Chairman and CEO (corporate governance Red Flag) Mr Gidon Tahan looks to be taking the form of a grant of security over about 10 million of his shares. Did the grant of security involve Cascade being able to dump said shares on the market? But two other details catch my eye.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast - have the morons started mentioning the Bill Gates link? If it sounds too good to be true

There is of course no link between Bill Gates and AIM uber dog Servision (SEV) but I be that out in Bulletin Board land that will not stop it being mentioned in a post fact era ramp. Servision had raised $2 million today at 11.4p. Before recent insider dealing the shares were 2.25p and worth 0p. If it sounds too good to be true...all is explained in this bonus podcast.

I really hate Bill Gates & Microsoft with a fucking passion - 36 hours offline thanks to an upgrade

It is not that he is a smug bastard constantly appearing on our TV screens to say how much money he and his frightful Mrs have given away to support all the good causes favoured by the bien pensants although that is enough to make me want to put him on one of Richard Branson's dodgy rockets along with Saint Bono of tax-dodging and Branson himself on a one way trip to outer space. What really riles me about Gates and Microsoft is how upgrades and updates that I neither want nor need really fuck my life up.

Tom Winnifrith: No Bearcast today but my dedication to you dear reader knows no bounds

After just 10 days my PC has developed a fault. I blame that wanker Bill Gates as it was all to do with reconfiguring windows after installing updates. I loathe you Bill Gates. And so I ignored thunder clouds looming in the Taegessus mountains behind the Greek hovel and set off on my motorbike to Kalamata.
