I3 Energy has turned things around and has plenty of potential to continue heading in the right direction

I3 Energy (I3E) has been a great example of why past failure doesn’t necessarily point to a continuation of that in the future – in the same way that past success doesn’t mean that a company or management team will manage the same again.

With the 2020 Vomit list throwing up 9 out of 10 sick investments, it’s time to think about next year. The oil price is looking to be on the upwards trajectory, and hence any company really needs to be a standout monument to investment stupidity to be considered for entry to this year’s bucket list.

Vomit List- 2020 Vomit Bucket Winners: 10 oil dogs reviewed

After a rolling year of oil price movements, I find myself once again sat next to the fire at Christmas time cogitating oil company performance and prospects. Having suggested I would rather hold a bucket of Vomit than some oil shares this time last year, it’s time to review just how much money I did not lose. Yep it’s time to project the 2020 Vomit list awards to the deserving winners.

i3 Energy looks likely to survive if its acquisitions go ahead, but at what cost to existing shareholders?

I had been wondering when further news would come from i3 Energy (I3E) and these week two significant RNSs dropped on the same morning, which ultimately led to shares being suspended for the foreseeable future.

I comment on I3 Energy (I3E) which looks as if it may be toast, Cineworld (CINE) where I just can't get my head around its post Covid -19 plans, online shopping, and then at Lookers (LOOK) where, even without the fraud which gets ever bigger, there seem to me to be very real causes for concern. Oil sector Vomit List Update– What’s the verdict so far? Which becomes terminal first?

I don’t need to spell out to any reader of my recent articles on the oil price and specific oil companies, that I’m finding it difficult to see any good investments in the small cap oily space currently. Having written my Vomit list of crap oil shares at Christmas, I thought Easter would be a good time to undertake an interim review.

Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd - Ramp of the day

I commented yesterday on I3 Energy (I3E) as the subject of ramping on social media, and as expected the share price has fallen back today. One of todays ramp is Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd (COPL), up 40% as I type. This stock is heading for Zero in my view.

I3Energy – The power of social media ramping, or a Titanic sized leak?

I see I3Energy (I3E) heading towards the top of the daily AIM leader board, with its shares up some 35% at 8.1p when I last checked. Now why would that be? A funding deal or just the power of social media based ramping? I think the later for good reason.

Readers know I focus on the oily investment space and try to track the macro picture as well as the detail of specific investments cases. I hope this is useful in forming and reforming opinions on investment cases in the sector.

I3 Energy strikes oil at Liberator but I don't view it as being a positive outcome!

I3 Energy (I3E) is a company which I had high hopes for and have continued to keep the faith with despite being far from happy with the way that the board of directors has handled things during the current drilling campaign. Having screwed up the first Liberator pilot well, which was supposed to have determined the location for a first production well next year on its North Sea licence, and then operationally redeemed itself to some extent by striking oil during an appraisal of its nearby Serenity licence area, and proving that to be an extension of the adjacent Tain field, all eyes have been on the second Liberator pilot drill...

I commented on I3Energy (I3E) after the results of the Liberator LPt-02 well were released back in September.
