The FCA needs less woke virtue signalling by promoting failure and more diversity, it needs to hire some crooks

The FCA has clearly failed investors on am serial basis over many years: Woodford, all of those mini-bond disasters not just London & Capital Finance, Quindell, the list goes on and on.  So now under new CEO Nikhil Rathi there is claim that it is getting its act together. Frankly, this is woke cobblers, it is rewarding failure, it is not changing a culture of smug and holier than thou incompetence.

Terpenetech 2019 accounts out – the Eden Research 2015 Panama Pump fraud (now) endorsed by KPMG laid bare

It was in August 2015 when a heavily cash-strapped AIM dog Eden Research (EDEN) engaged in a blatant Panama Pump style fraud with a company, Tepenetech, with which it had long been associated. The 2019 accounts for Eden, signed off by KPMG, still pretend that this is a legitimate deal. But Terpenetech’s own accounts for calendar 2019 are, finally, just out and the fraud is there for all to see.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Supply@ME Capital boss Zamboni plays hostile press the way the king of the fraudsters Sam Antar suggests

I start with musings on croquet hoops, something I am geekish enough to comment on, and how it is symbolic of our age. I wander on to consider the craziest job creation scheme in history but one which the mainstream media takes seriously… back to crazy croquet hoops. Then it is news that Capita is closing offices where 15,000 work and the Government’s barking mad plans and pleas to reverse this tide. Finally, the response of Alessandro Zamboni of Supply@ME Capital (SYME) to me terming his company a con and saying he should be in jail. Other than his stupidity in telling an obvious lie, Sam Antar, the king of the fraudsters, would be proud of him.

I am not saying Future (FUTR) is a fraud just that the way it has responded to Matt Earl's devestating dossier will make my pal, the King of the Fraudsters, so incredibly proud. At last someone is following his advice on how to deal with critics. I also look at Burford (BUR), Big Dish (DISH), NAHL (NAH),Nostra Terra (NTOG),  St James Place (SJP) who I suggest hires Elizabeth Holmes and Julie "lingerie on expenses" Meyer at once, Versarien (VRS) and Arden Partners (ARD), home of the China fraud specialist Mr Paul Shackleton of Naibu (NBU) infamy.

Ask a high quality fraudster like Sam Antar how to deal with critics in the media or on wall Street? It is easy. I start with the announcement late last night from FastFoward Innovations (FFWD) the overvalued investment company run by my good friend the offshore based asset stripper Mr Jim Mellon. I move on to the FRC dealing with Russell McBurnie the disgraced ex FD of RSM Tenon and discuss book cookers, fraudsters. Sam Antar theories and crime and punishment generally. I look at Akers Biosciences (AKR) where book cooking ahead of a placing is alleged, at Zenith (ZEN) and at LPA (LPA) where i would not bottom fish after today's warning for a variety of reasons. Then I note MySquar (FRAUD) is down to 1.15p and I ask John Meyer of SP Angel once more if he will act or is he happy to wash his hands and turn a blind eye to crime. Photo Article - Bears Party on in New York

A good day for the bears here in New York. First up I walked up from Battery Park to see where I used to work in the black and white era on Wall & Water. It is now being turned into luxury apartments. Anhow, I wandered on past the New York Stock Exchange and, as you can see, the tickers were all red. Then later on it was to meet the King of the fraudsters my pal Sam Antar who, as you can see below, is in relaxed mood. More on that in today's bearcast.

Etaireia Investments: So Baron Bloom is a fraud apparently and steps down – no shit! What has NEX Regulation been doing here?

Hat tip to The Times for running part of this story on Monday but considering I’ve been warning about the Baron Bloom / Oli Fattal property venture, Etaireia Investments (NEX:ETIP) for two years (HERE), I thought I’d join in the fun as Baron Bloom has fallen foul of one of Sam Antar’s ‘three exes”, namely his, soon-to-be, ex-wife who has been spilling the unseemly beans in their divorce case. Bloom has been called out as a total fraudster and has stepped down from Etaireia as a result.

FRC starts investigation into two former Carillion FDs: string'em both up high!

It is individuals that commit financial crime not corporates. And thus, as I have noted so many times before, the only way that we will clean up financial markets in the UK is by starting to throw the book at individuals who sin, making sure that all transgressions, however small, go punished. And that brings us to today's news that the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has started an investigation into the conduct of Mr Richard Adam and Mr Zafar Khan, former Group Finance Directors of Carillion (CLLN) and members of the ICAEW.

KPMG in the soup again as FRC opens investigation into Carillion

The only UK financial watchdog that is anything other than a poodle has again bared its teeth and again it is the auditors at KPMG that are in the firing line, this time over Carillion (CLLN). Still being investigatred over its role in the Quindell fraud, let off the hook on HBOS, KPMG at least knows how the Financial Reporting Council works.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - taking on a company whose shareholders are some of the most moronic of morons

In today's podcast I spend a lot of time looking at Pantheon Resources (PANR) - when is the next bailout placing? I make wider observations about this sector. There is then a direct challenge to Mileestone (MSG) about Lyin' Larry and to its Nomad Cairn Financial. I then look at Mila (MILA) and MySquar (MYSQ) commenting on how some AIM CEO's groom BBMs like peadophiles groom their victims. Sam Antar has made the same analogy . It is all about gaining trust.

Lying thieving stockmarket fraudster James Longley forgets Sam Antar's first and second rules of fraud

The great Sam is clear. The job of a fraudster is to steal as much money as possible. So rule one is never do anything which distracts you from theft. Rule two is to ignore your critics completely. Firstly because attacking them breaks rule one, it leaves less time for stealing and secondly because it only goads the critics and gives them the oxygen of publicity. That brings us to James Longley of Plutus Powergen (PPG), Fandango Holdings (FHP), Papillion Holdings (PPHP) and Stranger Holdings (STHP) who is a liar, fraudster and thief.

Telit: Stormy times ahead

One of ex-fraudster Sam Antar’s golden rules for companies committing fraud is never to respond to criticism. Nyota – a complete shambles and horror show as AIM completely disgraces itself once again

Last night at 5.25pm Nyota Minerals (NYO) announced that its shares were being booted off the AIM casino. The roll call of shame on this one is appalling. We have AIM Regulation, broker Peterhouse and the directors of the company seemingly all at fault here, not to mention former Nomad Beaumont Cornish and two further Nomads, ZAI Corporate Finance and Allenby being dragged in. It is a true horror show. But rather than look in the mirror, the directors pointed the finger at ShareProphets – blame the media, the investigative journalists, blame evil Tom Winnifrith and myself, Nigel Somerville. This is shocking.

Tom Winnifrith BONUS Bearcast: Playing Sam Antar's fraudster game: a Purplebricks special

Let us be clear: Purplebricks (PURP) is not a fraud but today's publication of customer reviews - that Purplebricks is desperate for you not to see - is damning and suggests a business model that is based on taking £1000 from large numbers of "customers" who get nothing in return. That is not sustainable and is why the shares are worth 0p. The Sam Antar reference is about how Purplebricks responds and that, in turn, will determine the speed of its collapse. That it will collapse is a given.

Generally I would have thought that the CEO of one of London's biggest Nomads, Sam Smith of FinnCap, would have disapproved of insider dealing. It is, after all a criminal offence. But I am not so sure any more. After recent revelations at Telit (TCM) it seems Samantha does not think it is anything to worry about. Tom Winnifrith BearCast Special - The academic research that shows that bears & short sellers are the good guys, we are the regulators

I spent a happy night reading an an article supporting  stock promoters and crooks and an attack on bears from Zak "Judas" Mir. Cripes it was drivel. I then read a quite superb academic paper  "Go Down Fighting Short Sellers vs Firms" from the US which is the most comprehensive study of bear raids on US firms. It analyses how they respond but demonstrates quite clearly why the bears are the good guys, why we bears are the most effective regulators against stock promotion and fraud in town. The bald and clear fact is the sheer scale of long term underoerformance of stocks in the years AFTER a bear raid. The clear message is that bears are exposing wrong doing in a way that regulators do not and that listening to bears & selling shares in companies they target rather than siding with the con artists saves you money.
