I was not at the show, but have had feedback. What were your takeaways from Vin Murria, Adam Reynolds, Nigel Wray et al? Please do post in the comments section. Instead, I was on a 23-mile walk. I report on the good news and also how, thanks to a herd of cows, I am in complete agony tonight. Photos tomorrow, as bed beckons. Think of my complete pain and, if you are among the 95% of listeners yet to donate, please do so HERE.
In today's podcast, I suggest 3 questions you should ask of a certain speaker at UK Investor, and I shall be very proud of anyone who has the nerve to do so! I look at Eurasia Mining (EUA); Kavango Resources (KAV), run by flip-flop, Ben Turney; Strip Tinning (STG); Deepverge (DVRG); Audioboom (BOOM); and Nanosynth (NNN), where I slash my target price to 0.1p. 95% of you have yet to donate to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks. Come on, I am sure you can spare a tenner - please do give HERE.
I am no longer anything to do with UK Investor so gain nothing from bringing this offer to you. There is what is termed a UK Investor Summit taking place on Saturday 2 October at the Saracens stadium in North London. I am such an anti social bar stool that I would rather eat my own toes than pitch up but you may have missed chatting to other investors face to face during lockdown. And there is one really big reason to go.
Neil Woodford, Britain's best known fund manager has seen his empire start to crash and crumble today with a suspension of dealings in his flagship fund. Some in the corrupt deadwood press, like the Mail on Sunday, were still praising Woodford yesterday. Others have turned bearish over the past few months having previoously drunk the cool aid. But for almost two years we have been calling this out as a debacle waiting to happen, you can see our full, and incredibly detailed, coverage HERE. Site Editor Tom Winnifrith gave a keynote address at UK Investor 2018 predicting exactly what would happen and highlighting numerous red flags. You can see that video, now shown to be UK Investor at its finest, below
In covering this subject, my prime concern is not to hurt the feelings of Britain’s top share blogger, thirsty Paul Scott, who filled his boots at the 17p IPO. Mr Scott repeatedly argued, normally via 3AM thirsty tweet rants, that my tipping the shares was holding them back and so when I advised readers to bank 100% gains at 34p (and did so myself as well) he argued this was awful advice but thought it good for the share price which he saw at 65p+. The stock is off another 5% today at 22p to sell so should we be thinking of horrifying thirsty Paul and buying back in?
I've been part of ever one of Tom's investor shows since 2008, where as a new employee of t1ps.com, I was assigned to watch the door of a breakout room. This is the first year that I have largely seen it as a punter.
Sure, the speakers are the stars of the show. But the stands and the people behind them are where the real action is.
Everyone who enters the show gets a goody bag. Let’s take a look at what’s inside.
I am not at the UK Investor Show today. I hope you are as sparks will fly. But I explain my absence, discuss a CEO who is - I think - a liar and say what I do next. It's time to take the gloves off and stop mincing my words!
On Saturday I shall be on the main stage at UK Investor in a bears panel with the Dark Destroyer Matthew Earl and new bear on the block Duncan Stewart. We can promise fireworks. Here is a taster, an idea from Matt...
Yikes, it's getting worringly close to UK Investor Show time. Two weeks today, I'll be once again decompressing after the myriad speakers and exhibitors from this year's show. This will be the sixth UK Investor Show since its modest beginnings at the Excel Centre. (And don't go to the Excel Centre - it's at the much more convenient QEIICC in Westminster.). Incredibly it will be the nineteenth show organised by Tom Winnifrith.
With the Sith Lord Zak Mirinterviewing him, Adam Reynolds had nothing to fear. But there were questions from the audience that were far more daunting and interesting than those posed by Britain's worst chartist. If you are, like me, a holder of Optibiotix (OPTI), Yourgene (TGEN) - my Q1 nap pick - Big Sofa (BST) - my tip of the year - or Conc epta (CPT) you will want to watch this. I have never been more bullish on the quartet. This will be our year and I know Adam feels the same. The next City forum hosted by the Sith Lord is February 25. Put the date in your diary now.
With the Sith Lord Zak Mir hosting, presenting CEO's knew they would some really tough questions (that's sarcasm folks) after presenting. First up was Greg Bandy of Red Emperor (RMP) The next City forum hosted by the Sith Lord is February 25. Put the date in your diary now.
There are now just ten seats left at the UK Investor Show team's next City forum which takes place on the evening of Monday 3rd December in the heart of the City of London at the headquarters of investment bank UBS. There’s mince pies, wine and canapes on offer but more importantly the event features presentations and a chance to quiz three growth companies: SkinBioTherapeutics, RiverFort Global Opportunities (formerly Paternoster Resources) and Sosandar. The evening ends with our own, Chris “Three Brains” Bailey, interviewing Britain's Buffett Nigel Wray.
You may wish to watch my UK Investor City forum gig with bitcoin nutter Dominic Frisby HERE to frame what is in this podcast, the title of which is self-explanatory.
I gave Falanx (FLX) a hard time as did a number of other shareholders present last Tuesday. But after a confident presentation I thought Mike Read and John Blamire coped well. If the Solarwinds deal pans out as expected then these shares really could be incredibly cheap. 3.3p-3.5p is certainly very much the wrong price and the stance has to be STRONG BUY. Enjoy...
The final part of Tuesday night's Nigel Wray UK Investor City forum was a debate on bitcoin, blockchain and goats between myself and Dominic Frisby. I think I had the best jokes though Dominic is the comedian. Anyhow it was fun and, I hope, informative. The next Wray City Forum is on December 3rd so put the date in your diary now.
Four Premaitha (NIPT) bods presented and faced the music at the UK Investor City forum last week. I was hard on them with my questions as were other members of the audience. But I think they coped well and the shares are most certainly a BUY. Enjoy the video and remember that the next forum (featuring Sosandar) is on 3 December. We will start taking bookings next week.
On Tuesday Nigel Wray's Uk Investor team staged a really impressive City event. The wine flowed and Dominic Frisby and I hosted. Before we started there was a bit of comedy and a discussion on the recent market sell off. Enjoy. PS the next such event is December 3rd. Put the date in your diary.
Oh dear, oh dear. After my old offshore based, tax averse, pal Jim Mellon saw guests speaking to a near deserted hall in 2018 you wondered what the next disaster from his Master Investor show would be. Well the old asset stripper has just published calendar 2017 accounts and they are the grimmest yet and come with a stark warning that the game may be almost up.
Neither myself or the audience gave Steve O'Hara of Optibiotix (OPTI) an easy ride at Monday's UK Investor event in the City. But he presented well and I note that the chairman has today announced the purchase of £150,000 of shares at 71p. Watch Steve closely and you will see why the chairman is buying and why the shares - which are our largest holding but one we have added to in the past couple of months - are so cheap.
Below are a few photos of last night's UK Investor City evening with myself, Nigel Wray, Steve O'Hara of Optibiotix (OPTI) and Cambridge Cognition (COG).This is what you missed if you were not one of the 100 attendees. The next event is in September - to make sure you can priority book, you might join the mailing list for the events HERE
Hello Share Trippers. At the grand opening of that great Global Group Uk Investor Show just passed, Nigel Wray, perhaps Britain’s sagest investor, our own Warren Buffet, observed that the private investor gets a poor deal all round. How very true. The gathering of 3,000 of you at Westminster really did give PIs a voice, it is a start.
And that is just part of today's content here on ShareProphets. Coming up later there are 2 more buy tips, 5 more videos a cracking bearcast and much more. But....
In the fortnight following the UK Investor Show on April 28 there will be a spectacular avalanche of treats on ShareProphets but those treats will be for paying customers only. So what can you expect? And why should you join TODAY? Here goes...
I week after UK Investor I reflect briefly on our show, on its plans for 2019 and on the massive flops of two also rans. I ask if the Maltese Old Bill have collared Julie Meyer yet? I think not. I hear she has skipped the Island to head to London. And then I have yet more absolutely shocking revelations about the administration of Beaufort Securities.
When Paul Scott starts his morning newsletter with references to Chaka Khan you kind of fear that he is drunk in charge of a keyboard. He ended his long & less interesting than usual missive yesterday, which was largely a cut & paste, with the phrase "Let's have less Tom Winnifrith please! He causes stress & anguish - go away Tom, you're a bore." and then sent his tedious column to various folks such as Nigel Wray.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, third up it is Malcolm Stacey.
In this podcast I look back at a very valid point made by Dr Hon at UK Investor on a cancer still at the heart of the City. I look at AIQ (AIQ), San Leon (SLE) and Paragon Entertainment (PEL) - another Finncap debacle. Then I turn to Ed Croft and UK Investor who was rude to me ( who cares) as he over-ran his allotted time and pretended otherwise by slating me. He also called Nigel Wray a sucker for his investments. Ed: how rich are you? How many AIM stocks have you backed in a major way where you could have m,ade 100* your money? But I am sure you are right and Wray is a sucker. And then Ed presented data which though accurate allowed him to leap to a totally wrong conclusion. If I was scoring his thesis I explain why I'd have to give it a fail. Or as that is now on campuses today a 2:1. Unlike Ed I did not insult someone else on the main stage on their big day as that would have been rude but his nonsense needs correcting.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, first up it is young Steve Moore...
Background. Last year Paul turned up late for the UK Investor Show bearcast as he had gone to the wrong venue. This year I felt safe as two hours before the bearcast I knew Paul was due on the main stage with Paul Jourdan & Nigel Wray and he would not screw that up would he? Er.... As I walked off from the previous session I was told Scott was running 10 minutes late and so I agreed to start his session with Wray and Jourdan for him. 35 minutes later I was still there, over-running by a few minutes but managing well ( I thought). Still no sign of Scott. Anyhow in this bearcast I start off with five minutes on Blockchain with Malcolm Palle of Coinsilium (COIN) then it is onto Scott who seems not to understand that a fact is something that has happened, it is derived from the Latin. Opinions are not facts! Enjoy!
Im am putting off assorting my jumbled thoughts on Neil Woodford and the fraud MySquar (MYSQ) into an ordered presentation but that is for this afternoon. Pro tem I look at Avanti Communications (AVN), IQE (IQE), Mobile Streams (MOS), Nighthawk (HAWK) - off 60% today but still at the very least 80% overvalued - and Leaf Clean Energy (LEAF). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH. ORDER NOW and we cannt post but will email you a ticket by tonight.
I start with a discussion of my drinking problem. My problem being that I just cant take it anymore even though this is the week when I am plied with booze. I then move onto humourless bastard lawyers, specifically at Pinsent Masons. Then I discuss AIQ (AIQ) - its share price is madness and I'm out. Its been a hoot fellas and will pay for my holiday in Sweden next week. Then Gattaca (GTCA), IDOX (IDOX), Magnolia Petroleum (DOG), Amur Minerals (AMC) and finally Challenger (CHAL) and its problem with a company I have renamed Star Rectum. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH. ORDER NOW and we cannt post but will email you a ticket tonight.
I was chatting to Dom Frisby this morning ahead of the Sarries evening tomorrow which is the first part of UK Investor (gold tickets only). More on that in the podcast where I also look at UK house prices, Ascent Resources (AST), Immupharma (IMM), investing in biotech, PCGE (PCGE), MySquar (MYSQ) and its new marriage from hell and at Versarien (VRS). Tin hat on after that annoying its deranged fans by daring to ask questions. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
In this podcast I look at Fronterra (FRR) where I'm vindicated and my twitter pest of the week - a detergent salesman - is now even more out of pocket. I look at Greka Drilling (GDL) and at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where Lyin' Steve is now really taking the piss with his 0.4p options. Finally I wonder how close is Totally (TLY) to needing a bailout placing. With Allenby of Servision (SEV) infamy and the chap who assisted Quindell (QPP) at Cenkos on board it has a broking dream team in place. I take a detailed look. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
Interrupted by a vomiting cat and by Amazon delivery men this is my third stab at a podcast today. In it I cover FlowGroup (FLOW), Avanti Communications (AVN) and Inmarsat (ISAT), BCA Marketplace (BCA), the crock of shit that is Mosman Oil & Gas (MSMN) and Pantheon Resources (PANR), also a crock. And I revisit Air Partner (AIR) which is still not answering a key question. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
I have not slept since Saturday and I am cream crackered. I discuss a few of the movies I watched flying to and from New York. Naturally watching Paddington 2 for the second and then third time was the highlight but there was also Atomic blonde which had great eighties music and lots of violence with commies getting killed. That's fine by me but there were certain scenes I felt a bit uncomfortable watching. I digress. On today's bearcast I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Mothercare (MTC) and the idea of we bears "preying" on retailers as legal wankers Linklaters suggest. I look at Avanti (AVN) and Pantheon (PANR) and recall an interview I did with Colin Bird. I also look at Nakama (NAK) and discuss how events can spiral badly for a company seen to be in trouble. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and not one but, now, two special guests. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
Not this one but one I recorded yesterday with my pal the king fraudster Sam Antar who created the original Panama Pump. Sam was on fine form and I shall unleash that podcast in a couple of weeks time but it was awesome. I pick up on a few themes from it and discuss Ascent Resources (AST), Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) - read Nigel's brilliant piece, about a company where I own 1 share so I can attend GMs, HERE - and Strat Aero (AERO). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
In today's bearcast - recorded in a rush as GSC business awaits in Manhattan - I look at BNN (BNN) after today's shocking news HERE, MySquar (MYSQ), Quadrise Fuels (QFI) and Defenx (DFX). Tootle Pip...more tomorrow. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
As old Jim Mellon is such a good friend I thought I'd have a butchers. Is it because of more problems at the Diabetic Boot Company or is it a cash crisis at SalvarX (SALV) or at Regent Pacific? What is it about this related party nest of snakes that is making investors shun shares in Jim's Port Erin (PEBI)? I discuss in detail. I also look at MySquar (MYSQ) as the fraud skids to a new low, Ecsc (ECSC), the cyber junk play, FastJet (FJET) - another bailout placing ahoy - and old Clem's spoof Online BlockChain (OBC) as it tanks again. And then its RIP Conviviality (CVR), formal notice of wipeout for those who punt on the back of a brokers note and for other investors. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
If you are my age you may remember the song, it was a hit when I lived there and today i head over to stay with the same folks as i lived with more than 30 years ago. Ahead of that there are more words on the gender pay gap data abuse as covered in detail HERE and then I cover Vela (VELA) and a bursting blockchain bubble, Vitesse Media (VIS) - opportunistic scumbags - Infrstrata (INFA), Inspirit (INSP), Collagen (COS), MySquar (MYSQ) and Frontera (FRR). And there may be major news on Air Partner (AIR) soon, I seem to have found a whistleblower. Happy days. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
Only kidding! Death Wish, which is not, as you might think, hapless Mayor Khan's new tourist promo video for London, is not out until Friday. So I gave the Mrs a far more suitable present for her birthday but what to give my Labour party loyalist sister Comrade N?. Back to the Mrs: I sense that I shall be watching the new Bruce Willis movie alone. I digress. In today's bearcast I look at Weatherley International (WTI), the fraud MySquar (MYSQ), Pathfinder Minerals (PFP), Air Partner (AIR), Sosandar (SOS), IFG Group (IFP), IQE (IQE) - where I try not to be tasteless as I flag a difficult issue but apologise in advance if I offend anyone - and Purplebricks (PURP). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
Tomorrow is the birthday of the Mrs so there may not be a bearcast. If not I shall be back on Wednesday morning ahead of a flight to New York on Global Shorting Conspiracy business. In today's podcast I look at why gold like my Wisdens is an investment. Then I discuss two shares in AIM stocks which, for very different reasons, I am considering buying next week and I'd like to thank one of my colleagues for - perhaps - giving me a chance to do so very cheaply. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
The excitement mounts as the Winnifrith family heads off for a day at an owl sanctuary for that is the current obsession of young Joshua. Ahead of that I reflect on themes touched on by Malcolm Stacey today (HERE) and also Chris Bailey (HERE). I go far further than they do. The times they are a changin' and not for the better. Bring on the goats. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
Bad language alert. The results are dire and demonstrate again the extent of the fraud that the useless wankers at AIM Regulation, Nomad SP Angel and the FCA are prepared to overlook. They show the extent of the lies told by CEO Eric Schaer. And they show a company that is running out of other people's money fast, facing a death spiral blizzard of share sales and where everyone involved deserves to burn in hell. With hard analysis of the numbers I explain all. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
In this bearcast I cover Sosandar (SOS) as Cynical Bear pretends to be Ben Turney on steroids and then turn my fire to all the bad news that UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is sitting on and may release well after hours tomorrow. Then I look at Gloo Networks (GLOO) which is linked to BCA Marketplace (BCA). Gloo is at every level a total fecking scandal of greed and well everything. I should warn you that there is a bad language alert as Gloo is everything that is wrong about the AIM Casino. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
In today's podcast I start with a digression about driving to Greece given the day's good news about the hovel HERE. But I have a serious point about residual values of cars, ref BCA Marketplace (BCA), Northgate (NTG) and others. I then look at Falcon Media (FAL) and its boss who I accuse of fraud and think should go to jail. Then it is on to Milestone (MSG) - told y'all!!!! - Ferrum Crescent (FCR), De La Rue (DLR), and Amur Minerals (AMC). I have a pop at an Ulster born bimbo on BBC Business over Brexit and then discuss Neil Woodford where Roger Lawson defends the indefensible after today's shocking revelations. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
If anyone from Jim Mellon's organisation wishes to visit UK Investor Show we give them admittance. But Jim's minions are desperate to stop us from seeing what a shambles and disaster his event yesterday has become. While Mellon's henchmen stopped Darren Atwater from attending we got another photographer in and what she produced shows why Mellon is so desperate to hide the ghastly truth about his heavily loss making event.
The short list is Conviviality (SVR), Clear Leisure (CLP) and Graphene Nanochem (GRPH). I discuss all three but also UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) where the deafening silence is a very bad sign. I consider Sir Patrick's Day tomorrow and how Joshua and I will celebrate and I look at Mothercare (MTC), retail gloom, Mitie (MTO) and the double standards of the great and the good. Make sure you get your free ticket to UK Investor on April 21 using the promotional code WINNIFRITH when booking an investor class seat HERE - if only to hear a live 40 minute bearcast with myself & Paul Scott being recorded!
I start with a discussion on Neil Woodford. Should I do a "special" session on him at UK Investor? Answers in the comments section below please. Sterling is very much on the up. It was never about Brexit, that was a lie from the liberal media and remoaners. It was always about base rates and they are now on the up. What does that mean for us all? I look at Prezzo, another restaurant chain in the merde but it is not just about being in the wrong sector at the wrong time it is about debt and that, as I explain, has wider implications. And finally I look at the latest initiative from this not fit for purpose Government, meddling with share buy backs.
Adam Reynolds speaks, seven hot share tips, gay penguins, and much more. Click now to read.
Hello, Share Curdlers. At the incredibly good UK Investor Show in April, I heard a strong recommendation to buy into ITV (ITV). The reasoning was - and I agreed with this - is that, if you want your product to be aired before 6 million people in one go, then ITV is the only platform you have.
UK Investor headline speaker Ed Croft of Stockopedia will have a sore backside by next week but this is nothing to do with the sort of thing that Tim Farron either disapproves of strongly or accepts as perfectly normal depending on which day of the week it is.
The asset strippers who own Master Investor tried to persuade companies exhibiting at Nigel Wray's UK Investor Show to jump ship, promising them that 5,000 attendees would cram into a hall holding less than 3,000 folks. Well here is a photo below of the asset stripper himself, Jim Mellon, staring out on rows of empty seats. In light of that I invite you to examine the photo and offer up a suitable caption. The deadline for entries to be posted in the comments section below, is midnight tonight, Sunday 26th, the day after Master Investor died. RIP.
The Mrs (on maternity leave) is off galavanting somewhere. Eight days ahead of UK Investor, the busiest time of the year, I am babysitting. I am such a god damn frigging feminist. Anyhow I record this in terror lest Joshua wakes up. In today's podcast I explain why you cannot finesse a trade on a fundamental play and discuss Minoan (MIN) and Wishbone (WSBN) in that vein. I look at Digital Barriers (DGB) the latest triumph from Cloudtag (CTAG) moron in chief Liam Nichols. I discuss Tethys (TPL) which like Cloudtag is soon to leave the AIM Casino, Nyota (NYO) and London Capital (LCG).
Don't you just love our new Cloudtag (CTAG) countdown clock on the right hand side of this page? I am already assembling material old and new for this presentation at UK Investor but the clock is a jolly jape is it not? Elsewhere I never cease to wonder at the stupidity of some investors. I look at Amur (AMC) in this respect. I then look at Weatherly (WTI) which is telling you, plain as day, that its shares are worthless. I explain a few hard facts and ask new questions about Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) and then have a butchers at Rosslyn Data (RDT) shares in which have just hit a new all time low. I wonder why? Smiley face, smiley face.
The January edition of the UK Investor Magazine is live featuring 7 share tips, company profiles, and what to do with the Dow at 20,000 plus much more.
There are two statements out today from Xtract Resources (XTR) and neither can be viewed in any way as good news. We own these shares thanks to Dragons Den choices by Steve Moore & Gary Newman at UK Investor 2016, and today's admissions prompt me to start filling in P45s for both those writers.
I start with a discussion of gold versus Sovereign debt and refer to a table at the bottom of an article I penned today on the delusional poisonous midget Nicola Sturgeon and her welfare addicted countrymen HERE. Then it is onto TrakM8 (TRAK) but more importantly Boohoo (BOO). Will Paul Scott concede defeat on the former, should I show humility and concede defeat on the latter, just to avoid another session of retail gross margins waterboarding. What do you think? Cripes that reminds me that we picked up some Boohoo shares in the Dragons Den session last year at UK Investor. Bank gains, methinks.
From Gary Newman, Nigel Somerville, Steve Moore and myself there are 14 new investment ideas in the July UK Investor Magazine which is out now. I discuss the spirit of insurgency which caused Brexit and which is powering Donald Trump to the White House and its long term implications as well as the Global Recession which will hit the UK soon and it is nothing to do with Brexit! That and much more is free to read now just click on the link below.
On Thursday I spent much of the day with MBN, the firm run by Nigel Wray's daughter with which we are now putting on UK Investor. More details regarding April 1 2017 soon but it is all pretty exciting. On friday I had a catch up chat with Nigel and in this podcast I look at three companies we chatted about: Guscio (GUSC), Reach4Entertainment (R4E) and a new one, Franchise Brands which was born from the ashes of Myhome. Hmmmm.
The UK Investor speaker, Moneyweek columnist and gold guru and professional comedian Dominic Frisby sends me a flyer for his gigs at the Edinburgh Festival. Unlike some want to be writers, such as Ben Turney who are accidental comedians in that we just laugh at them, Dominic really is a professional comedian and is very funny so if you are in Edinburgh this year go see him. His main gig is Tax!
We have been on the case of bargepole stock Fusionex (FXI) since the world's greatest tech analyst Kevin Ashton flagged it up as a sell at UK Investor 2015. The bear case grew with Zak Mir giving it the kiss of death with not one but two buy tips but it was the trading statement last Autumn that really woke folks up to the genius of Ashton as an analyst and of Mir as a counter-indicator. Today we have interims. Natch, the shares are down - at 158p - but the stance remains a stand out sell.
After the stock market crash of 1987, The US Federal Reserve sowed the seeds of the biggest debt bubble in the history of the world and this is now starting to unravel. Protecting wealth is now the order of the day and those who are not positioned for the unfolding events will see their net worth fall sharply and substantially, with very little prospect of a sharp bounce back.
It is now Eighty years ago, February 4, 1936, that one of the most influential books of the last one hundred years was published, British economist, John Maynard Keynes’s The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money was born what has become known as Keynesian Economics. Within less than a decade after its appearance, the ideas conquered the economics profession and become a guidebook for government economic policy then and to the current day.
A slightly delayed October edition of UK Investor magazine is now live featuring 4 buy share tips, 3 sells (from TW), company profiles on Universe and Northcote, Amanda van Dyke on why now is the time to buy mining stocks or is Tesco a better recovery play? Darren Winters takes over the normal Rob Terry slot while George Osborne Chases the Dragon as our cover story. You can download your free copy below
The July edition of UK Investor Magazine went live last night. It is free to access and the cover story is “David Lenigas, saint or serial sinner” – a joint effort by myself and the Sith Lord Zak Mir. There are a couple of company profiles, three stocks to buy and three to sell. One of those is Quindell which really could be worth 0p again! And there is more…
Why would you go onto the Internet to read a magazine? I haven't the faintest - but thousands of you have done so and clicked here to read the first edition of UK Investor magazine. We've being podcasts, so I guess that's like radio on the Internet and we've do videos since the beguinning, and that's a little like television on the Internet so I guess that I should not be surprised that putting print on the Internet is a success.
Before heading to the White Bear with my father, a brief podcast. Armadale I question its maths but its shares could well be cheap even after soaring 155% today. Then onto Atlantic Coal (dog), Sound Oil, Sefton, Jiasen & Cyan.
He may no longer be the reigning pro-celeb UKI pizza making champion, but Ed Croft of Stockopedia does a mean old masterclass on how to use stock screening to pick winners Here is the video of his 2015 UK Investor Session. Enjoy
Jeepers, I am meant to be preparing a romantic meal for two tonight and I have not even started. The Mrs will not be pleased but it is a busy day. On this podcast I cover China frauds -and invite you to vote on which will be the next AIM Casino China Norfolk to see its shares suspended (HERE), Monitise, Eclectic Bars, Coms and more.
Do you understand what oil junior TXO (TXO) does? It seems a tad complicated and its CEO Tim Baldwin seems to attract "mixed" Bulletin Board Comment. In this video from UK Investor show Mr Baldwin puts the case for buying shares in TXO.
