In today's podcast, I look at: Vast Resources (VAST) and the bogus bear squeeze; Eurasia Mining (EUA); Powerhouse Energy (PHE); Kinovo (KINO) and the fallout from my scoop yesterday, which is now confirmed; Made.com (MADE); and why Petropavlovsk (POG) is a zero. Also, do grab a (free) ticket to UK Investor on Saturday; tomorrow, I shall give the question you must ask one of the presenters. The Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks have now raised 21% of their target. To the 95% of listeners yet to donate, please do so HERE.
Back on 26 August Umuthi Healthcare announced via RNS that it was to float on the (sub) Standard List of the Main Market, that is the one where those fine chaps and chapesses at the FCA are in charge of admissions. All was set for the UKLA to set a listing day in early September, we were told. But then came a delay.
Hello Share Mates. We are blessed with some of the greatest brains in company analysis on this gorgeous website. That’s why our writers keep uncovering big stories long before the Press. You can't help but be impressed by the technical pros and cons our corespondents dissect with a fine toothcomb.
I hope many of you enjoyed the UK Investor Show last Saturday. Some of you may even have seen my interview with commercial property investor Nick Leslau where we batted around some of the key issues impacting the sector as well as the retail space and related matters such as Brexit. Nick's steer to private investors listening was very clear: be very careful in the space. I was thinking about some of his comments when I saw today's announcement from Workspace (WKP), which I have written about a couple of times before (most recently HERE)…
What a day out that was! The Wray family may be running the investor show now, but the sparkle was still there – even if I missed the acid wit of Tom Winnifrith. But it was great to catch up with the other writers at ShareProphets and in particular it was good to call in at two stands – those of Ariana Resources (AAU) and Sosandar (SOS).
With Nigel Wray’s family fully in charge of the Global Group UK Investor Show, this is the first time in six years that I have not been up at 4am to put out last minute fires. Now I get to see the show as a regular punter. And it looks great . I’ll be posting some photos throughout the morning of what I see.
Hello, Share Cobblers. As I’m hosting the UK Investor Show this weekend, I can’t topically research any individual shares for your attention. And I’ve said all I can say about Brexit and my portfolio. Briefly, I expect shares to come back strongly once the process becomes clear, just as falling shares did at the outset of World War 11. So may I write about catching a cold, instead?
Well it looks as if we will not Brexit on March 29th after all. But The Global Group UK Investor Show on March 30th in Westminster goes ahead and will be more informative and controversial than ever. The last chance to book seats is noon today
Hello, Share Fanciers. There’s still time to get a ticket for the Global Group UK Investor Show at Westminster this Saturday. And you might want to leave your armchair to be there - both to find new investments and to be warned about some of your current babies. It’s the biggest show of its kind and I think it’s the greatest...
As a long time Brexiteer I am sure Mark Slater will have a few things to say about the UK leaving the EU the day before The Global Group UK Investor Show on Saturday 30th March. More importantly, in just 7 days’ time, the most successful fund manager of the past decade will be using that famous “Slater nose” to give his view on the market but will also be explaining exactly which shares he is buying and selling and why.
As of today, The Global Group UK Investor show is already just over 80% booked out so do not miss
your chance to join 3,000 other investors who want to make more money from shares, on march 30
in Westminster.
Hello, Share Mates. As a schoolboy, I attended probably one of Britain’s first ever trade events. It featured that great material, Formica, as well as other home products, and it was then I became fascinated by the concept of a trade show. Perhaps, it was all the free samples. In my case, lots of little tablets of bright shininess, which we swapped and gambled in the playground. Grand commercial events have come a long way since the late ‘fifties. Especially the Global Group UK Investor Show at Westminster on Saturday March 30th...
Dan Levi reckons that I was being beastly about Dev Clever PLC to sell it a stand at the UK Investor show. He says so without listening to what I actually said. Maybe I am also trying to flog stands to Telit, Accesso and Westminster Group? Oi fatso Baldry if I mention the 3DM fraud again will you take a stand at a show I don't actually own. Whatever... In this podcast I also cover Telit (TCM), Blue Rock Diamonds (BRD), Jim Mellon's SalvaRX (SALV), Accesso (ACSO) and Windar Photonics (WPHO). It is silliness like this that make me want to call it a day sooner rather than later.
As a ShareProphets reader you know the speakers, you’ve seen the videos, indeed, you may well have attended a UK Investor Show in person so you know something of what to expect. But in our 18th year the team is going to serve up their biggest and most exciting all-star event yet on March 30th 2019. Do not miss out, reserve your place today.
With the Sith Lord Zak Mir hosting, presenting CEO's knew they would some really tough questions (that's sarcasm folks) after presenting. Third up was Tony Sanders of Catenae (CTEA) The next City forum hosted by the Sith Lord is February 25. Put the date in your diary now.
I explain the headline ion the podcast but it is all to do with Anglo African Oil & Gas (AAOG) and UK Investor Show - book your free ticket for March 30 today HERE. I explain why Old man Stacey really has lost the plot on Brexit, he needs to look at what is happening in China and that will make him truly fearful. I look at Tesla (TSLA) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG).
Over almost fifty years Nigel Wray's record of making money from value investing is almost unmatched on this side of the Pond. That is why he is referrred to as Britain's Buffett. So what makes him back a stock? How can you invest like Britain's Buffett
If you are a shareholder in OptiBiotix, Sosandar, SkinBioTherapeutics, Yourgene, Concepta or Big Sofa then put 21st January in your diary now! That evening, the man who listed all those companies and who is still involved with or close to all, will be quizzed at the next UK Investor City Forum at PwC in the City of London. Places are limited to just 90 and are first come first served. You can book a free seat HERE.
You may already be starting the wind-down ahead of the Christmas break. With all the red on the screens we can hardly blame you for taking a break from the stock market that little bit earlier this year. Anyhow if you are still reading you must , like us, be a bit of a shares groupie. So we wanted to say a couple of things...
The next City Forum is on January 21 with Adam Reynolds as the guest speaker being quizzed by the Sith Lord Zak Mir. I bet Adam's quaking about that grilling. Three companies will also present and take questions as will Adam. Put the date in your diary. From this week's seminar here is Brian Kinane of Riverfort Global Opportunities (RGO), formerly Paternoster Res presenting and taking questions.

Our friends at Stockomendation have launched a Crowd Funding Campaign to help grow their business in the UK and into new markets. I like Stockomendation and think the management team, though boorishly Welsh, are strong, committed and have a business model that is interesting. Compared to some of the crap that is Crowdfunded this is bluechip and it has already raised most of its £350,000 target.
The country’s, easily, largest and certainly, most exciting, one day event for those who want to make more money from shares, The Global Group UK Investor Show, is still almost six months away but already the all-star main stage speaker line-up is almost finalized. And this week we announced a big new name.
In light of Cynical's piece earlier this week I discuss what happens next to Neil Woodford and his funds and it is not good. Of course some of us - not the useless FT - predicted it all a long while back as you can see in this excellent video from UK Investor show 2018 here
The country’s, easily, largest and ,certainly, most exciting, one day event for those who want to make more money from shares, UK Investor, is still nearly six months away but already more than two thirds of the 135 exhibitor PLC stands have been reserved. And we have an almost complete all star speaker line-up headed by Luke Johnson, Vin Murria, Mark Slater & Nigel Wray...
The great success that was the 2018 UK Investor Show saw six 'Dragon's Den' sessions where a number of CEOs each gave a 1 minute (well, supposed to be!) pitch and three 'Dragons' at each session each picked a stock for a £1,000 investment. With the show having been on April 21st, here’s a monthly performance update...

AIM-listed online ladies fashion wear start-up Sosandar (SOS) has seen its shares race even further ahead, as I predicted last week. At the weekend, with the shares a noggin below the 40p mark, I said it would be time to sell another tranche into what I expected would be a bit of a rally into the AGM when I would imagine a trading statement will be forthcoming. Today (thus far) the shares have clocked up yet another record high of 45.5p in the middle and I helped myself, selling a lump at 42.44p. But I am still holding over a third of my original holding.
At the risk of upsetting retail-guru Thirsty Paul Scott who thinks it is bad for the share price if any expert other than he pontificates, I thought it was time to mention once again my hot tip of AIM-listed Sosandar (SOS) from the UK Investor Show earlier this year. Having offered favourable mention at 12.5p I tipped it at 13p, cashed in a slice at 27p and the shares closed last night at about 35p. It is all good news!

With the show having been on April 21st, how's the standings a third of the way through the competition?...

Hello, Share Swishers. At a previous Global Group UK Investor Show, Uncle Tom invited some of you onto the stage to see if you preferred Fevertree tonic water to another kind. All but one of you opted for Fevertree (FEVR). Which helps to explain its amazing rise and rise in the supermarkets, shops and pubs.

We ended the first Uk Investor Show City event with a conversation between myself and Nigel Wray covering a long time fave he has sold, a new AIM company he is backing, Brexit and much else. We also took questions from the audience.
The theme of Monday's UK Investor City Show evening was disruptive technologies. That is certainly something Cambridge Cognition (COG) is working on. Nigel Wray is a big shareholders and has increased his stake of late. Watch the video to see why.
I started to soften my view on Sosandar (SOS) back in April having seen the founders at the UK Investor Show but thought I would formally update my position on this following yesterday’s results, as my name and “view” gets bandied around in connection with it. In summary, I am no longer a bear.
AIM-listed Sosandar (SOS), my tip from this year’s UK Investor Show, had already performed very well but this morning the full year results to March were released. It is always a good sign when companies publish results ahead of the deadline and Sosandar could have waited to the end of September. So it was with increased optimism that I read through the report, but will it be enough for me to raise my stance on the shares and flip flop again?
Other writers on this fine website (ie Tom Winnifrith!) may disagree, but shares in AIM-listed Sosandar (SOS) are back through 20p, which was my limit price to pick up stock. So once again I move my stance to hold. Flip-flop-flip-flop….but it’s not me, it’s the share price which keeps moving! Whatever, my tip from the UK Investor Show this year is doing very well.

2018 was our most successful UK Investor Show yet and the 2019 event on March 30 will be even bigger and better. With almost 60 companies already confirmed, including OptiBiotix, Falanx, Asiamet and WANdisco, and star speakers such as Vin Murria, Mark Slater, Nigel Wray and Tom Winnifrith plus many new names booked in, it will be a show not to be missed.
I know that March 30th 2019 is a long way ahead but there are two reasons to buy a half priced ticket TODAY at www.UKInvestorShow.com/tickets .
Maybe you cannot wait for the UK Investor Show 2019 on March 30? Well if that is the case here is a bonus preview event for you all, the first UK Investor City evening with Nigel Wray. Nigel will be joined in conversation by Tom Winnifrith - that is me - and there will be four truly disruptive companies presenting including Cambridge Cognition and Optibiotix.
I’m changing my stance on AIM-listed Sosandar (SOS). This is not because the company has done anything wrong, or that events have gone against it. Nor is it any fundamental reassessment of the company. No, it is just that the shares are well up since I tipped it and whilst it could be a buy still, I’d like to see updates on current trading before saying buy now.
As I head off to Greece later this week it will be to start training at altitude in the Taygetos Mountains. Only kidding. But i have been taking to the gym and starting some modest walks. I really do not want to be shown up too badly on 28 July when Brokerman Dan Levi and I walk from Horse Hill to Woodlarks.
AIM-listed Adam Reynolds float Sosandar (SOS) has been having quite a ride since I first commented on it following this year’s UK Investor Show at 12p to buy and tipped it at 13p – they are now up to 19p to buy so I guess that’s a 50% profit. I bought in at just over 15p and nabbed a small handful more on Friday at 18.46p.
Andalas Energy (ADL) is a company that even after its recent placing has NEGATIVE net current assets of $1-2 million and no assets of any value. I think it is worthless but its management wishes to meet me to explain why I am wrong. Hmmm. Well for starters I am a hermit who never goes to London other than for UK Investor and secondly I simply will not meet until the company answers four questions and it is still refusing.
The great success that was the 2018 UK Investor Show saw six 'Dragon's Den' sessions where a number of CEOs each gave a 1 minute (well, supposed to be!) pitch and three 'Dragons' at each session each picked a stock for a £1,000 investment. With the show having been on April 21st, here’s a first performance update...
AIM-listed online women’s clothing play Sosandar (SOS) from the Adam Reynolds stable has announced its trading update for y/e 31 March 2018. This was my pick of the companies I saw and chatted to at the UK Investor Show, and so far the shares have performed admirably. Now it has produced a cracker of a trading update and I still rate the shares a buy, but it certainly is not a “widows and orphans” stock!
Hello, Share Shakers. Occasionally, on this stunning website, I make suggestions on shares not based on hard news. But which I feel will keep on rising merely because of a current trend. It might be one of the oldest cliches in the City book, but ‘the trend is your friend’ has always been my most reliable financial adage.
At last month’s UK Investor Show I grumbled about the difficulties of being short in the current fraud-friendly climate in which fundamental analysis seems way down the pecking order of share picking criteria and suggested that unless it can be shown that a company is in imminent danger of going bust (Carillion, for example) shorting right now is an uphill battle. I might have added that shorting a name where there is a small free float is also a dangerous game. Which brings me back to Purplebricks (PURP).
This video rather slipped down the sofa but was a bonus session from the great Luke Johnson in a breakout room at the UK Investor Show on what makes a great entrepreneur.
Okay those may be the names best known to readers of this site but the panel also included two other wise heads, Ayan Mitra (Code Investing) and veteran gold guru Malcolm Burne (JP Jenkins)
Scott had failed to show up for his main stage session with Nigel Wray after drinking too much the night before but rolled up for a noon bearcast. Enjoy.
This session was chaired by our own Chris Bailey and featured Andrew Bell of Red Rock (RRR), Rob Scott of Anglo African Agriculture (AAAP - where we own shares - Ahmet Dik of Victoria Oil & Gas (VOG) and Colin Bird of numerous companies, including Jubilee Metals (JLP) tipped by Andrew Monk this morning.
This panel was chaired by our own Gary Newman and featured uranium cheerleader Paul Atherley of Berkeley Energia (BKY), coal bug Andrew Bell of Regency Mines (RGM) and waste to power enthusiast Keith Allaun of Powerhouse Energy (PHE).
This session was chaired by Dominic Frisby with a panel of Malcolm Palle, Jonathan Bixby, Tony Sanders, Bob McDowall, and Ralph Hazell
It is not exactly earth shattering but Optibiotix (OPTI) says that it will be showcasing "an extended range of products and presenting new research data on its LPLDL® and SlimBiome® products at the Vitafoods European tradeshow in Geneva from the 15-17 May 2018."
I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that Nigel Wray, aka Britain's Buffett, has a small stake in Yolo (YOLO). Anyhow here to explain the fundamentals is boss Simon Robinson
This panel discussion was chaired by our very own Gary Newman and featured Jonathan Tidswell of Angus Energy (ANGS), David Bramhill of Union Jack Oil (UJO) and Richard Hale, assistant to "The Knife" in the City's No 1 oil team round at SP Angel
Harry has never been to Kalamata even though during the war of Independence that started in 1821 his family were fighters (for Greece natch) who lived near there. As I live near there now I have suggested he pay a visit. But not until he has created some real value for we shareholders in Kefi Minerals (KEFI). Here is Harry with his plan...
After all the beastly things I have wriiten about Solo Oil (SOLO) and about him personally it was jolly brave of Neil Ritson to enter the Lion's Den and present at the show. In that regard, I take my hat off to him. Over to the brave man...
I defy anyone who spoke to the Falanx (FLX) team at the show not to have come away a bull. I did and thus bought more shares post show. At 5.2p offer the shares are really very cheap IMHO. If you doubt here is chairman Mike Read to say more.
If I say so myself, I called this brilliantly as a sell then as a buy then as a take profits. But where does Highland Natural Resources (HNR) stand now? I chatted briefly to the team at the show and they were brimming with confidence but for more detail over to Robert Price.
NEX is a rival to AIM. Surely there has to be a better way than AIM? Patrick Birley explains all.
Still not figured out blockchain yet? Me neither. So here is Alex Lightman of Token Communities to explain all.
This presentation sees Gfinity (GFIN) with one of its shareholders, a Mr Nigel Wray, aka Britain's Buffett, presenting.
Belluscura Ltd is one of the investeee companies of TekCapital (TEK) and it also presented at the show.
This is, of course, a big fave of Nigel Wray and he has done exceptionally well from Alliance Pharma (APH). It has also been a good share tip (twice) from myself and young Steve on the Nifty Fifty. The main man is John Dawson and he can explain the story going forward.
We still have some warrants in Amryt (AMYT) and I know this is a big year both in terms of clinical trials and also sales ramp up but I admit that I am a bit off the pace on exactly what is going on. So over to someone who is bang up to speed.
I rather like Mr Allaun although as you know I am not heavily into this green malarky but the world is and thus I see the merit in the shares. Anyhow Keith can explain the Powerhouse Energy (PHE) story better than a climate change denier like myself so over to him.
I chatted to Steve before the show and at it. This is my biggest single holding, I bought more after the show and at a 71p offer shares in Optibiotix (OPTI) are IMHO still very cheap. I really do expect them to be at 120p+ during the coming months as it unveils a string of new sales agreements. Here is Steve in action...
Next up is Martin Rosser the CEO of Alexander Mining (AXM) - enjoy.
It is time for Steve Moore's favoured play in the mining sector, Berekely Energia (BKY) headed up by Paul Atherley
Chaired by Adam Reynolds this session boated the CEOS of Immupharma, Optibiotix, soon to IPO Phynova and ValiRx. Enjoy.
Well I never. Colin Bird was omnipresent at the show but for Jubilee Metals (JLP) he handed over to his able CEO Leon Coetzer.
Once again I plead complete ignorance when it comes to TekCapital (TEK). There are 2,500 listed companies in London and I am not so much of a geek to be able to do 2 minutes without hesitation, deviation or repetition on all of them or even most of them. Anyhow over to Clifford Gross for enlightenment.
Once again, I admit to 100% ignorance on this one so it is over to Bernard Aylward of Kodal Minerals (KOD) for the lowdown.
On this one I confess complete ignorance, the sum of my knowledge is exactly zero so it is over to Paul Welch of SDX Energy (SDX) to explain more.
I know not a lot about Karoo Energy (KEP) other than - I think - it operates in Botswana. But I chatted to Noel Lyons at length at the show and before it and he seems like a pleasant chap. Over to him
Another excellent column in yesterday's Sunday Times on regulation provides some inspiration for today's bearcast. But here is my friend Luke Johnson in full flow at the UK Investor show. Enjoy.
This was part of the opening ceremony at UK Investor Show. As you can see myself and Lucy Wray were naturals. The booze was, for the record, finest English Chapel Down not that French muck. Poor Johnny Hon found it a bit harder.
Here I do claim a bit on insight. We own the shares - now 9.75p to buy - and I do actually know quite a bit of what Curzon (CZN) does having spoken to Mr Wagenhofer pre IPO. He now explains the story in more detail.
He is my friend but, I am aware, not universally appreciated. A marmite figure. Welcome to Andrew Bell of Red Rock Resources (RRR)
Big Dish has yet to IPO but the my loyal sidekick Steve Moore has already committed me to invest £1000 in the IPO after a Dragon's Den pitch HERE - where the pizza Hardman Darren Atwater was also wowed. So far no one has asked me for any cash so I guess the IPO is still on the runway but here is more of what got Canada's leading bearded Marxist, who running a capitalist enterprise in Clerkenwell, and also Steve Moore so excited.
And the next video is the bears with myself, the Dark Destroyer Matt Earl, the Bard of the Boleyn Lucian Miers and a cameo by Nigel Somerville on Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO). On the agenda Telit (TCM), Tesla (TSLA), Mitie (MTO), IQE (IQE), RM2 (RM2),Avanti Communications (AVN), AIQ (AIQ) and a good stack more.
I am sure that some folks wnated to attend this one to pelt my friend Andrew Bell with rotten fruit. They would be pelting wrongly IMHO but that is another matter. Andrew was in plenty of panels but in this Regency Mines (RGM) session it was Scott in charge.
At a personal level I have always had a lot of time for Christian Schaffalitzky but am off the pace on news from Eurasia Mining (EUA) although staring at the world map on the wall in Joshua's room just above the nappy changing mat I finally worked out yesterday, as I changed an absolutely disgusting nappy, where it is that Eurasia operates. You probably did not need to know that. Over to Christian.
This session had to be cut short as the previous speaker Ed Croft allocated himseelf an extra five minutes for his talk. Heck Mr Wray is your host, cut his talk in half so you can yak on a bit more. Not only does Ed tip all the big frauds as STRONG BUYS he has no manners either. Myself and Nigel gave £3,000 ands £5,000 respectively to Woodlarks and that cash is invested in two shares which we hope will prosper. All is explained in this short video
WEelcome to the Taffies, that is to say share tipster tracking site Stockomendation - not to be confused with a company of a similar name noted for tipping as massive buys all the big frauds on AIM. Stockomendation is a useful site and all is explianed in the presentation, by James Bowden, below.
Chaired by Brian Kinane of Riverfort this was a real clash of ideas and featured Dominic Frisby, Paul Atherley of Berkeley (BKY), Richard Poulden of Wishbone (WSBN), Peter Bird of Asiamet (ARS) and - making a very welcome return - Amanda Van Dyke, now a fund manager.
A few opening words from Nigel and then a bit about Woodlarks
I have quite rightly slated this stock as being a dog with a bloated cost base and no chance of making money for shareholders. I have been right but the management and fundamentals have changed so it is my second show tip. It is a punt but definitely worth a small flutter.
Yes this was Sula and the drill programme did not work out. Rather than carry on flogging a dead horse while drawing a vast salary as many AIM CEOs would have done, boss Roger Murphy changed the name to African Battery Metals (ABM) and the focus while he stgill had cash at hand. He explains what comes next in the video below.
And there was I hoping that it was Shetland Gruffalo sponsoring Paul Johnson who would present for Metal NRG (MNRG). Instead over to Rolf Gerritsen
David Galan of Zinc Media (ZIN) strikes me as a nice guy but what do I know? I am not sure I am up to speed on the Zinc story ( Alzheimer's again) so here is a refresher from Galan.
My friend Mark Slater is the UK's top performing fund manager over the past decade. As such his thoughts on the market and what shares he is buying, holding and selling is of massive interest. Although his talk was the last of the day the room was packed, with folks standing at the back to hear every word. Enjoy.
Colin was a busy man at the show doing, I think, eight, presentations but it may have been more. Here he is speaking on behalf of Galileo Resources (GLR). In case you are wondering , Colin's badge is an "I love bearcast" sticker. Doesn't everyone?
This was a wide ranging chat with the property guru covering everything from retailaggedon, to how to invest in commercial real estate to Purplebricks (PURP) to UK house prices and buy to let, Nick Leslau did not hold back.
A double header here as Mark Heyhoe puts the case for Harvest Minerals (HMI) and Jangada Mines (JAN). Enjoy.
At the UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 4 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session six the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), Gary Newman and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Falanx, Thor Mining, Karoo Energy and Bezant Resources
And next up is Michael McNeilly of mining investment company Metal Tiger (MTR), who I met socially a few months ago and is good fun for what that is worth.
It's my fault but I have rather lost touch with the ECR Minerals (ECR) story but here is Craig Brown to explain the current state of play.
My pal Mike Nott was detailed elsewhere so stepping up to the plate for Alba Minerals (ALBA) was George Frangeskides as you can see in the video below.
Big Dave Lenigas pulls the strings here but he was in the land of High Culture on business matters on April 21. So Rob Scott stood in and presented on behalf of Anglo African (AAAP) where I am, for reasons I cannot really remember, a long suffering, if small, shareholder. Over to a man called Scott who is not a drunk and who appeared on time to present coherently. Clearly he's not related to Paul.
At the UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 5 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session five the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), Brian Kinane of Riverfort, a jovial Irishman who takes teasing well, and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Big Sofa, Symphony Environmental, Stranger Holdings and Papua Mining
No one seemed to disagree that Ali and Julie came across incredibly well at the show. Sosandar (SOS) is a stock that I own as does Nigel Wray and so does Paul Scott who, in his sober moments, is a good retail analyst. Anyhow see what you think. I reckon the shares are a great buy at 15.5p.
I should declare that about eight years ago I borrowed C$20 from Kiran Morzaria in a snow bound Toronto and have yet to pay him back so there is a clear conflict of interest here. Not! Cue Bulletin Board Morons screaming about brown envelopes. I digress, Kiran was presenting on behalf of Cadence Minerals (KDNC). Enjoy.
The UK regulators seem loathe to take action but having been fined last month for misleading customers in Australia it seems that Purplebricks (PURP) is in the soup once again down under. Why don't UK authorities take action too asks Chris Wood in his cracking UK Investor Show video out today HERE. Meanwhile the AFR reports:
As you know I reckon EVERYONE should register with Primary Bid. It costs nothing and one day you will see it do a placing you are gagging to do and which will be snapped up before you know it by folks who are registered and get alerts. So SIGN UP NOW HERE!. Dave Mutton explains more at the UK Investor Show here.
Asiamet (ARS) has been one of the AIM wonder stocks of the past year. Peter Bird explains why the good times will continue. Enjoy.
Is it Dave or David? I get confused by so much these days. Whatever he presented a compelling case. And after the Dragon's Den he did I became a shareholder as you can see HERE. Wandisco (WAND) is proof of how vital management is. It was heading for disaster then management changed and now its zooming ahead as Dave/David explains below.
Simon also gave a massively impressive Dragon's Den pitch which you can watch later. I own shares in Big Sofa (BST) and came away enthused as a result of the show. What do you think?
This may say Minoan on the video but it is not. Yet another P45 for Darren Atwater. Instead it is Cornish Estate Agent Chris Wood who has disregarded two bully boy lawyers letters and blows the lid on Purplebricks (PURP).
Paul Scott had too much to drink the night before and thus failed to appear for this mid morning session on value investing at UK Investor Show. At one minute's notice I stepped into his shoes with Paul promising the organisers that he would arrive within ten minutes. He did not turn up at all. Though I over-ran by about five minutes as I adjusted & winged it using as a basis a pretty piss poor agenda Paul had set the session still worked very well I thought, a testimony to the expertise of Nigel Wray and Paul Jourdan of Amati.
PCGE (PCGE) certainly arouses debate. Here putting the investment case is its founder and chairman Richard Poulden.
At UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 5 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session four the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), a very smug Darren Atwater and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Plutus PowerGen, Big Dish, Optibiotix, Connemara and Anglo African Agriculture.
Franchise Brands (FRAN) was Nigel Wray's 2017 Golden share and he is a major shareholder in this stock. Boss Stephen Hemsley has a cracking CV being the man at the helm during the most exciting part of the Domino's Pizza (DOM) growth story.
A colleague of Chris Eadie's came to see me in Bristol a few months ago arriving by motorbike. But Mr Eadie also explains the new Rose Petroleum (ROSE) case well.
Ascent Resources (AST) is controversial and with its strategic review, very much in the news. But the Ulster Man does not hide and so in that regard I SUFTUM - Colin Hutchinson could have ducked UK Investor but opted not to and here is what he had to say.
This is the great Leo the man who has transformed Del Boy Lenigas operation LGO Energy into a company that is going places, Columbus Energy (CERP). This presentation struck me as not bad at all.
I rather wondered what Dr Hon of The Global Group would say about China fraud on AIM but what he said was pretty explosive, exposing those within the City who quite deliberately and systematically broke Chinese rules to allow frauds to float in London. This was great stuff because the scandal is that those who did this still operate in the City today. I make a cameo appearance at the end. Enjoy.
I own shares in Wishbone Gold (WSBN) in my pension and so does FIML. So, for that matter, does my son Joshua. I think that in the end we will all make money and a lot of it but so far it has been "bumpy." Here to explain why the future is golden is founder and chairman Richard Poulden.
Tern (TERN) is, of course, the bete noire of our own Nigel Somerville. It has also be THE AIM wonder stock of the past week. So what exactly did Bruce Leith say at UK Investor Show. Enjoy.
At UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 5 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session three the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), Nigel Wray and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Vast Resources, ECR Minerals, FairFX, Red Rock Resources and Ferrum Minerals.
Thanks to Gary Newman and Steve Moore and the 2017 Dragon's Den I am an impoversihed investor in Xtract Resources (XTR). Should I sack them do you think? Anyhow there is a new boss, Colin Bird, and he puts the recovery case...
At UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 5 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session two the Dragons were me (Tom Winnifrith), Nigel Wray and Gary Newman. The companies pitching were: African Battery Metals, Extract Resources, WanDisco, Coinsilium and Powerhouse Energy Group.
Some investor shows have all women panels in a rather patronising tokenistic manner. Our main stage speakers are there on merit and merit alone. This year there were three women on the main stage, including the show owner Lucy Wray. But the star, as ever, was the Queen of tech Vin Murria. She would hit me if I suggested she was there as part of a quota, she is the ultimate meritocrat and she is forthright in her views. For me this was the session of the show but is for paying subscribers only.
I met up with Asaf from TechFinancials (TECH) the day before the show. We had a bit of a disagreement about Syria but moved swifty on as he tried to explain blockchain and his ICO to me - and I think I almost got it. Here he is at the UK Investor Show doing the same. Enjoy.
What I know about Premier African Minerals (PREM) could be written on the back of a postage stamp. And a small one at that! To broaden my knowledge base here is its boss George Roach in action last weekend.
We own shares in Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV) and have done since its IPO. It has been a bumpy ride but things are now going very much the right way and at c3p they are very cheap. Here is Charles Barclay to explain why.
Colin Bird seemed to be omnipresent at the UK Investor Show and here he is presenting on behalf of Bezant Resources (BZT).
The room was packed and I did not hold back one iota. I was nervous ahead of this talk as I knew that it would get a full house and, despite the intervention of my 18 month old son Joshua, I think it flowed well. It is no holds barred stuff on Britain's most conceited fund manager and explains why he is in very deep trouble indeed.
I start at the beginning which is the early career of Eric Schaer, the fraudster in chief, and end at the end which will be insolvency and, I hope, jail time for Eric and the gang. This is chapter and verse on why MySquar (MYSQ) is a 100% fraud and why the employees of Nomad SP Angel are gutless, morally bankrupt, crony capitalists for continuing to act for it. This is no holds barred material. Enjoy.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, eighth up it is Tom Winnifrith.
At UK Investor Show there were six Dragon's Den sessions. As a result of each £3,000 of my real money was invested after each dragon picked one of the 5 companies doing an elevator pitch. In session one the Dragons were me ( Tom Winnifrith), Nigel Wray and Steve Moore. The companies pitching were: Botswana Diamonds, Gallileo Resources, Bluebird Merchant Ventures, Ariana Resources and R4E.
Kerim Sener is the founder and CEO of AIM listed gold producer and explorer Ariana Resources (AAU). He is one of the nicest and most honest guys on the market and I think Ariana shares are cheap. To see what he had to say at the UK Investor Show 2018 watch the video below. Enjoy!
Sadly it was not my friend the Foo Man ( Kevin Foo) presenting but a very able stand in, Ahmet Dik, batted for Victoria Oil & Gas (VOG). Enjoy.
I have no idea how or why Nikos was at the show but he's a Greek so he must be a good guy, right? Enjoy.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, seventh up it is the pizza Hardman, Darren Atwater.
I have always regarded Faisal as one the more straightforward but also cleverer AIM bosses - okay you may say there is a low bar on both counts but that was meant to be praise. And Plastics Capital (PLA) is very much a real business a proper company making things so all power to his elbow. Enjoy Faisal's presentation from the show.
I had a great chat with Michael Laurier of Symphony Environmental (SYM) about how when we first met the shares were 2p and I had faith in him then. They are now well over 20p. Michael gets a lot of stick but for delivering 1000% gains - albeit over 12 or 13 years - he deserves some credit. Presenting the Symphony case at UK Investor Show was FD Ian Bristow. Enjoy.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, sixth up it is Nigel Somerville.
James is the Chief Commercial Officer of FairFX (FFX) where I am a shareholder - after Saturday and a Dragon's Den Session - mainly because I am a customer and I think this service is just fecking brilliant. Anyhow James can explain all and did so on Saturday as you can see in the video below. Enjoy.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, fifth up it is Chris Bailey who, TW notes did a superb job interviewing Vin Murria on the main stage. Utterly top notch. Back to Chris and his share tip.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, fourth up it is Cynical Bear.
First Sentinel (NEX:FSEN) is a NEX Markets listed financial services firm and its founder and CEO is Brian Stockbridge who presents in the video below. Enjoy.
This week all of the team will tip 1 stock - long or short - which presented at UK Investor on Saturday or was mentioned in a presentation. For paying customers only, second up it is Gary Newman.
In this podcast I look back at a very valid point made by Dr Hon at UK Investor on a cancer still at the heart of the City. I look at AIQ (AIQ), San Leon (SLE) and Paragon Entertainment (PEL) - another Finncap debacle. Then I turn to Ed Croft and UK Investor who was rude to me ( who cares) as he over-ran his allotted time and pretended otherwise by slating me. He also called Nigel Wray a sucker for his investments. Ed: how rich are you? How many AIM stocks have you backed in a major way where you could have m,ade 100* your money? But I am sure you are right and Wray is a sucker. And then Ed presented data which though accurate allowed him to leap to a totally wrong conclusion. If I was scoring his thesis I explain why I'd have to give it a fail. Or as that is now on campuses today a 2:1. Unlike Ed I did not insult someone else on the main stage on their big day as that would have been rude but his nonsense needs correcting.
The great success that was the 2018 UK Investor Show saw six 'Dragon's Den' sessions where a number of CEOs each gave a 1 minute (well, supposed to be!) pitch and three 'Dragons' at each session each picked a stock for a £1,000 investment. These have now been purchased, so what were the picks (& can The Pizza Hardman Darren Atwater follow the success of his 2017 selection - Versarien @22.4p)?...
Hello Share Mashers. Wow! What a Global Group UK Investor Show that was! I’ve never seen so many folks at any show anywhere. And if audience reaction is any guide, they loved every second of this bigger and better share spectacular, organised by Lucy Wray’s talented team. But for those who couldn’t make it, let me report on what you missed.
Thank you to the many ShareProphets readers who came by the stand at yesterday's UK Investor Show. It was terrific to meet real, live, readers and to hear how they enjoy and profit from the site. I tried to thank each one personally for subscribing, as those subscriptions keep ShareProphets thriving.
Featuring five great share tips plus all the details of the show.
Do not worry it is not all macro babble in today's podcast but I reflect on why Sterling is roofing it and why this also makes the Paul Scott thesis on retailers and consumer facing stocks wrong - more of that on Saturday no doubt! I look at Amur Minerals (AMC) with the 1 question its dumb shareholders need to ask. I intrude on the private grief at Somerville towers regarding Scancell (SCLP) and suggest that there is more to come for poor Nigel. And I look at perennial dog Iofina and what it is NOT saying. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 - THIS SATURDAY - one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH. ORDER NOW - LAST POSTING TODAY
Cornish Estate Agent Chris Wood has exposed numerous of the sharpish practices employed by Purplebricks (PURP) on his own blog and we have republished his incredibly detailed analysis HERE. For his troubles Purplebricks has on several occasions sent him stiff lawyers letters in an attempt to gag him. Now he will blow the lid on much more as our final speaker at UK INvestor Show on Saturday.
Less than a week to go to the UK Investor Show and it promises to be far and away the best yet. If you’ve not booked a ticket you’d better hurry up – they are running out fast. Lob in the promo code SP10 and you’ll get a freebie investor class ticket – you can’t say fairer than that! Looking down the list of companies present, I have already compiled a list of who I want to see and also what I am doing on the day.
If you have been to the UK Investor Show before you know how educating and exciting it can be. Now, with the show owned by Nigel Wray's family, the 2018 event on April 21 in Westminster is set to be the biggest in our 17 year history and also the most spectacular. Book today and we can still email you a ticket to be there
This is the most polite i shall ever be. Okay the mother-in-law is out and my father in law has hearing issues but still its a no swearing podcast in which I discuss FairFx (FFX), Vin Murria, the Uk Investor Show and a new major headache for Purplebricks ( PURP) and the wider issue of revenue visibility. I also note events in Syria which I cover in more detail HERE. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
Version 2. Darren cut off 6 minutes of the podcast first time around. I am a nice guy. I will not fire him...until Monday. After many years I have upgraded from a Nokia brick to a sort of smart phone but I cannot work out how to answer calls or indeed shut it off or put it on silent. So in this podcast it very much plays the shepherd of Porlock. In the podcast itself I discuss my domestic arrangements ahead of the return of the Mrs and a weekend with the mother-in-law ( some of us have all the luck) then look at TrakM8 (TRAK), RM2 (RM2), Online Blockchain (OBC) and reminisce about Sefton (SER) and Jimmyliar Ellerton, prompted by a long chat with Brokerman Dan last night. In detail I look at Fishing Republic (FISH) which looks, to me, an increasingly sick puppy. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
After last week's twitter spat we have made up and are friends again so Paul Scott will, after all, be recording a bearcast special with me at UK Investor Show. If you have not booked a free investor class seat for 21 April do so now at www.ukinvestorshow.com/tickets using the promotional code WINNIFRITH. In today's bearcast I look at a moron and Marechale (MAC), at FlowGroup (FLOW), MySquar (MYSQ), Hvivo (HVO), Strat Aero (AERO), Omega Diagnostics (ODX) and those two awful words "strategic review" and at Air Partner (AIR). Over on my personal website there is a podcast setting a few folks straight on Lady Thatcher - HERE.
Hello Share Smoothers. There's only a couple of weeks to go to probably the greatest share show on earth at Westminster. And if you haven't got your ticket yet, I humbly urge you get down to it, as there are only a few left. It's as if those folk who thought they'd save £1.50p a week by not subscribing to this tremendous website, think they can make up for their lack of vital info by charging down to London for one day's superb instruction at the UK Investor Show.
UK Investor is acknowledged as the Country's leading one day event for those wanting to make more money from shares with an un-matched all star speaker lineup. The 2018 event is now exactly two weeks away. It takes place on April 21 at the QE2 Centre in Westminster and is now 97% booked out. So grab a free ticket TODAY while you can...
Hello Share Masters. At the big UK Investor Show last time, Uncle Tom launched a big demo on stage to see if one brand of tonic water was better than the more common kind. I think he may have been surprised when all but one of the audience he dragged up voted that Fevertree (FEVR) tonic water tasted better than the other brand on offer.
No! Not Neil Woodford silly! The data about who is the UK's top fund manager is very clear and unless you hold the charts upside down it certainly is not Woodford. The hard data shows that Mark Slater was not only the 3rd best performing UK fund manager last year but over ten years is No 1. Facts don't lie - Slater, like his late father Jim - is just incredibly good at stock picking.
Via, his PR man - aka the spawn of Satan - I have sent a letter to Eric Schaer the CEO of AIM superfraud MySquar (MYSQ) challenging him to deal in person, face to face with me, on April 21, with the incontrovertible evidence that his company is a fraud. I write:
In just under three weeks, I'll be very pleased to meet readers of this website at the UK Investor Show. While the analysts of this site are up on stage, I'll be holding down the fort at the ShareProphets booth.
Featuring the UK Investor Show, six great tips, and much more.
Bad language alert. No I am not referring to Mrs Stacey. I would not dare but to Feedback (FDBK) which has done a placing today but another one is needed soon. I look at Mosman (MSMN) which has had terrible results and imagine the conversations round at SP Angel as poor Zac Phillips is forced to pen another buy note on this POS. I look at results from UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the RedX (REDX) disaster, RM2 (RM2) and Conviviality (CVR). I really enjoyed today's podcast and - conceitedly - think it is rather a good one.
The Mrs thinks her dad was born in Chennai. I explain the relevance of this as I discuss Mercantile Ports & Logistics (MPL) and more evidence that has fallen into my hands suggesting that it is doomed. Elsewhere I look at Purplebricks (PURP), Angle (AGL) and the corruption of Fleet Street, Brokerman Dan again showing that he did not train as a journalist but as er..something else as he looks at Big Dish a stock where I have no knowledge or financial interest I also look at the disgraceful news today from Nick "not for the many but the" Trew at Pathfinder Minerals (PFP) and at ITM Power (ITM)
With just 25 days to go to what is the country's largest and most spectacular one day event for those who want to make money from shares, the Global Group UK Investor Show, the last seats are being snapped up rapidly. More than 470 have gone in the past 8 days meaning that the event is now more than 85% booked out. Act NOW to make sure that you get a chance to join 3,500 other really serious investors in the QE2 Centre in London on April 21.
I look at a Winnifrith Rule AIM must introduce for board outsing EGMs ref Pathfinder (PFP), Magnolia (MAGP) and Conroy (CGNR) and I look at why we are in a bear market but why I'm not panicked. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
Nine share tips, giving in a tax-efficient way, don't count Trump out. And much more...
In today's podcast I look at why some folks really don't get it. If I want to stop risking my capital and working ball-breakingly long weeks and retire that is not selfish as one poster suggested when I said why I was planning on doing just that HERE. I look at market falls and why I expect more and at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and where the shares go now. What does David Lenigas say & what will happen? Finally House of Fraser is joining retailageddon. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH - Oh and Big Dave will also be there on a panel discussion covering Uk onshore oil & gas!
Nigel Wray is the man known as Britain's Buffett. He does not punt on resources stocks or high risk biotech wheezes. Instead he makes his millions buying shares in smaller growth companies that make profits, pay dividends and generate cash. That is value investing. He was one of the early investors in Domino's and made tens of millions from Telecom Plus as well. There was property giant Burford, just an £8 million capitalised penny share when he got involved and the list of winners goes on and on
Two days, two bull articles on IQE (IQE). It has worked and I have been goaded here is is why Malcolm Stacey is talking bollocks. I also reference the fraud Eden Research (EDEN) in this discussion on profit being a matter of opinion and that is why cash matters. I discuss why being a liar is bad news as a CEO ref Mkango Resources (MKA) then tease Andrew Monk and Richard Jennings about Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) - their oil analysis as bad as their Syria analysis on this occasion. Then it is onto Flybe (FLYB) and a detailed discussion of the looming cash crisis and joke valuation at Sound Energy (SOU). I suggest SalvaRx (SALV) run by my good friend Jim Mellon faces a bit of a cash issue. Then I explain why I have cut my UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) target price to just 0.25p making it, at 1.125p, still a slam dunk sell. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
It is one month exactly to UK Investor Show. Book your seats today! In today's podcast I comment on retail generally but also on any company that says that it is talking to its banks and that they are "supportive." I look in detail at yesterday's results from Eden Research (EDEN). Would you Adam & Eve it? There's lots of snakes in that garden. I look at the request for an EGM of Pathfinder Minerals (PFP) to out useless Nick Trew and NED Toff Tory Sir Henry Bellingham MP of 3DM infamy. Sir Henry I have a score to settle and I have a warning for you about what I plan. If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
Okay the most frequent poster in our comments section is a nutso commie but hat tip to Wildes for a phrase he taught me today. In the bearcast I discuss how to make real bread ( my next career?), Accrol (ACRL), Micro Focus (MCRO), Inspirit (INSP), Conviviality (CVR), Mothercare (MTC), Online Blockchain (OBC) and have a prize contest on TechFinancials (TECH) - can anyone explain this bollocks to me. The prize will be awarded at UK Investor on April 21 where the highlight of the day will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH
This morning, on such a snowy day, I was thinking how nice it would be to go somewhere quiet and sit, read the paper, and drink my coffee without being bothered by people. As it happens, I live just down the street from the Business Design Centre in Islingtion, and it is Master Investor day, so that would fit my plan perfectly.
Value investing is how you make money from shares. Any other approach is not investing but speculating and is, by definition, hit and miss. So do you want to know what Britain's leading value investors are thinking and what shares they are buying and selling? Today's special opportunity is.... Three great value investors will be on stage together discussing how they select stocks and what they are buying and selling at the Global Group UK Investor Show in London on April 21. They are: Paul Scott, Britain's top share blogger, Nigel Wray, the man known as Britain's Buffett, and Dr Paul Jourdan the boss at the hugely successful Amati fund management operation.
Today's related party deal is the final straw and I have to use a C word when it comes to Gary Ashworth & Interquest (ITQ). I also look at Forbidden Technologies (FBT) which - whatever the directors say - needs a placing. I discuss PZ Cussons (PZC), Vernalis (VER) and Paul Scott's woes at Conviviality (CVR) - Scotty that is the danger of reading broker notes you should speak to the company instead. Nudge Nudge, know what I mean. Wink, wink.Make sure you get your free ticket to UK Investor on April 21 using the promotional code WINNIFRITH when booking an investor class seat HERE - if only to hear a live 40 minute bearcast with myself & Paul Scott being recorded!
The chart below says it all. Neil Woodford managed funds own 28% of Vernalis (VER). The shares were 50p when he filled his boots in a placing two years ago. They are now 4.5p as the company has started closing down its operations and has put itself up for sale. As ever, as the shares tanked, Woodford knew better....
I gather from Andrew Monk that ShareProphets is banned in China - what could they possibly not like about this website? I give my views on China and also on the way that poor BMD has been robbed today. News of a shock resignation just days before he faces rows of empty seats sees me enjoy a cup of Schadenfreude at the expense of my old friend Jim Mellon. I look at Andalas Energy (ADL), asking it to comment on new reports of internal woes. I look at Eqtec (EQT) and MySquar (MYSQ) and also at Alumasc (ALU) and Sportech (SPO). Make sure you get your free ticket to UK Investor on April 21 using the promotional code WINNIFRITH when booking an investor class seat HERE - if only to hear a live 40 minute bearcast with myself & Paul Scott being recorded!
Even though the event is still almost 7 weeks away on April 21, the Global Group UK Investor Show is now more than two thirds booked out - A highlight of the show is the tale of the two fund managers below: Mark Slater & Neil Woodford. Slater is the UK's most successful fund manager of the past decade. He will give the final speech of the day explaining where he sees the market, what shares he is buying, what he is selling and why. If there is a man to follow it is Mark. Neil Woodford is perhaps the country's highest profile fund manager and makes millions for himself.
Even though the event is still more than 7 weeks away on April 21, the Global Group UK Investor Show is now more than 60% booked out - we have never seen demand like this in 17 years.
Nine share tips tips, defending Churchill, and not missing Nigel Wray. And much more...
More than 300 tickets for the UK Investor show have been reserved this week alone. That is more than 10% of the available stock. More than half the seats at the UK Investor Show have already been booked even though the event is still two months away - we have never seen demand like this in 17 years. Get your seat while stocks last...
Okay so you may up paying for some Guardian reader to use under-age hookers in the third world but some charities really are the good guys and those tend to be the ones starved of resources. At UK Investor Show this year we will again be flagging up the excellent work of the charity I support, Woodlarks, which is very much worthy of your support. So if he are going to back a charity, how to do it in a tax efficient manner. Over to David Scott of Andrews Gwynne for this handy guide.
I say in the bearcast that it is the 20th. Apologies. Alzheimer's again. I know it is the 25th. The P in MV=PT is inflation and unless you have been buying into asset bubbles over the past few years you may not have noticed how huge it has been. But now it is working its way into the real mainstream economy and that will impact corporate earnings and also base rates. How exposed are you? SP50 is the promo code you use to book a free investor class ticket at www.UKInvestorShow.com/tickets TODAY. I explain why you really must come along with a preview of some of what is going to take place. Book NOW!
Oddly enough Britain's most conceited fund manager Neil Woodford has yet to agree to appear at UK Investor Show to answer some simple questions from me. What is he frightened of? I will have to go ahead with the session without him but I hope that he does not bleat on about how he had no right of reply! Anyhow, I discuss my futurology piece of yesterday and how it should be viewed if you are, like Nomates Neil, a big holder of auto related stocks. I cover BCA Marketplace (BCA), The AA (AA.) and Northgate (NTG) in this section. I also look, en passant, at another Woodford dog RM2 (RM2). Then I cover Milestone (TOAST) and finally pick up on the most excellent post on the comments section of this site by Drunken Sailor on POS Andalas (ADL)
I have today written to Britain's most conceited fund manager Neil Woodford to see whether he dares to stand up for himself and face up to me in public. Here goes
What will Father Christmas be putting in the stockings of the writers of ShareProphets, nine share tips, plus what sexism at the BBC
Ross Norman, the CEO of London's oldest gold bullion dealer Sharps Pixley will be among the speakers at UK Investor Show 2018 on April 21. Have you booked yet? Here are his precious metals forecasts for the year ahead.
Between today and January 2 we will be serving up 24 share tips of the year from our team of writers here. The share tips are for paying subscribers only. We start with the first of two ideas from the grandfather of share blogging Malcolm Stacey.
Nigel Wray's family buys the UK Investor Show, confronting the new takeover code, five buy share tips (and three sells), plus what are they drinking in Scotland?
Hello Share Blasters. On the road in the grim north, I don't have access to the usual research channels. So allow me to review a trio of shares I've scanned in more detail recently, but which I believe have not so far taken full advantage of the current Santa Rally.
When asset classes reach new highs, whipped ever higher by froth, sentiment or easy money, folks always insist that "it will be different this time" and arrive at new convoluted ways of justifying absurd valuations. We are at that stage now warns the great Luke Johnson in today's Sunday Times. Of course he is right.
Hello, Share Riflers. Having written recently on my occasional dabbles in momentum trading, I thought it only fair to mention a share I’m trading at the moment. This share is rocketing along this week.
