Gold: Dislocation, dislocation, dislocation! It is all going only one way!

Readers will know that I am a gold bull and think it is a dead cert to go up in the current crisis as governments spend money they haven’t got and central banks roll out the printing presses. Also noticeable is the lack of physical gold supply in the US which has already forced COMEX to change the contract details to allow delivery in London as opposed to New York – a bit of a problem, given that there are no flights to put it on! But why are Gold Futures in June trading $50 above the spot price?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - the scariest graphic you will see this year + IQE: Buy sell or hold

The scariest graphic you will see this year is on Zero Hedge below and shows just how each country in Europe is ageing. I discuss what it says about the scorched earth policies the EU has imposed on the Southern Europeans, about Germany and about the UK and Eire. This is the old world. It is dying. We in the UK need to focus elsewhere as we approach Brexit. Then it is onto IQE (IQE) and its £95 million placing: buy, sell or hold.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: if you thought Cloudtag & MySquar showed investors were bonkers meet Helios & Matheson

I start with a trip down memory lane this October 13th. It's back to 1987. can you remember why? Then, if you thought punters in Cloudtag (CTAG) or MySquar (MYSQ) were bonkers ( well they are) then meet Helios & Matheson. This tale will have you in stitches. Unless you are a MySquar moron in which case you will probably see it as an investment opportunity. Then it is onto UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), the Frogs selling and the slump to 2p or less. BTW Lucian Miers is now well in the money and added to his short yesterday. I explain why i3 Energy (i3E) is doomed and will crater soon and also go into the mounting woes of Conroy Gold & Natural Resources (CGNR) after this morning's news.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Are we at peak insanty - boob jobs on credit and Deliveroo's crazy valuation

I am prompted by a great Zero Hedge article HERE to look at the mounting evidence that thanks to what is now the greatest debt binge in history, surpassing that of 2008, we are at peak insanity. Whether it is boob jobs on tick, the latest funding round at Deliveroo at a ludicrous valuation, the downgrade of UK Government debt or the madness of some peer to peer lending there are timebombs aplenty waiting to explode.

Where the US leads we will follow - let's start with a property crash and retail-aggedon

I keep saying this till I am blue in the face but most asset classes are global. The idea, therefore that property prices can crash in New York and San Francisco but just keeo melting upwards in other global cities like London is just nonsense.

Gulf Keystone 0p by early May - I slash target price from 1p

I am beginning to think that my 1p target price for Gulf Keystone (GKP) is in fact far too generous. Having called this as a sell at 180p and all the way down to abuse from every moron in the land I think it is time to revise the target price. The shares are off another 9% today to just 4.675p. Okay I shall stop being a nice guy, I am cutting my target price from 1p to 0p.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 28 March: Paul Scott, Ascent loons, in fact everyone is in denial

Cripes the Mrs listened to me recording this and said that it was jolly interesting. I must have done something right today. On the agenda, I start with global denial, the fake econmic recovery since 2008 and how it will end in tears. I refer to a cracking Zero Hedge article here. Then it is Paul Scott in denial on how management change really changes so little so often. Finally it is Ascent (AST) loons in denial in equating sunk costs to fair value. Folks please if you wish to FYB tomorrow do not let me stop you as you will be able to buy shares we own and will happily let you have. But in all good conscience I must explain why you are bonkers.

Eleven Oil stocks heading for Zero

The weekend news from the oil sector is grim. I am not sure that folks out there in, what Malcolm Stacey might term, punterland realise just how grim it is. There is a massive PR and IR industry supporting the proposition that things can only get better. Au contraire, for the next few months at least, they are going to get a lot worse. And in that spirit I offer up a list of eleven oil E&Ps to sell now, to get out what and while you can, as they could well hit zero.

Collapsing-Reactor

You have been warned..ignore the mainstream press & Malcolm Stacey, I am not the only mega-bear

I see the Daily Telegraph is today still pushing the "we are in a bull market don't miss out" line so favoured by Malcolm Stacey. It is not a view I share. This article by Jim Quinn appeared on Zero Hedge yesterday and is superb. Just brilliant. Read it and be warned...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 3 October - so which dicksplash sent the lawyers letter?

Actually I shall keep you in suspense on that one - so you can still vote in the TW libel poll HERE - but I do discuss what a lamentable effort this fascist missive is when compared to previous bully boy lawyers letters. Then it is onto Guscio (GUSC), Plastics  Capital (PLA) and the farce that are LTIPs and then onto the failings of capitalism in the US and UK and why we are sleepwalking on soma with no real wealth being created.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 23 August - Update on my 10 (14) stocks to sell for summer

The Bear shares portfolio I outlined for summer on 19 July HERE is doing pretty well i.e tanking.  Yesterday I outlined my reasons for continuing to remain bearish at a macro level HERE and I also refer to an excellent piece on Zero Hedge HERE. Then I return to the bear portfolio which is:

Tom Winnifrith BearCast Special - looking back to 2001 & the 2015 New Media Bubble

In this podcast I look back to my own experiences of the dotcom bubble of 2000-2001 you see I remember it well, the lunacy, the excess and how it all ended in 2001-2002. It ended in tears. My mind is drawn to this as I contemplate the New Media bubble of 2015 and signs that it too will end in tears. I refer to two excellent articles, one on Zero Hedge HERE and the other on this website by Matty Earl, the Dark Destroyer (HERE). Both offer real insight. And I then speculate on why New Media will blow up and on the wider ramifications.

Tom Winnifrith BearCast 12 June

A pot pouri of a podcast today starting with the pronounciation pedant, the great Paul Scott. Then onto a cracking Zero Hedge article on how we should have treated the banksters in 2008 - we should have followed Iceland. Then on to Greece, Octagonal, Trap Oil, Nyota, Sefton, Afren, Alba Minerals, Monitise, Power Capital Global and Windar Photonics

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast Special - Its China fraud day

Naibu, Jiasen and over in Germany Joyou, it is all happening on the China fraud front. The London Stock Exchange's attitude and inaction is a disgrace. If you still own shares in JQW, Camkids, Jiasen, Chaintek or Asian Citrus you are bonkers. A short bearcast covering the day's events and a meeting with a feral cat.
