In trading, timing is everything and the board of Best of the Best (BOTB) look like they are the kings of the timely trade. On 31 March 2021 the company announced a heavily oversubscribed secondary placing. The RNS on April Fool’s day stated

With management owning just 0.07% of the equity and no institutions on the register, rebel investors in UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) seeking to oust fat cat boss Lyin’ Steve Sanderson, FD Kiran Morzaria and Chairman Allen Howard speak, as at 9 AM yesterday, for 4.58% of the equity. But…

We are now up to eight rogue bloggers for Woodlarks with J, the son of reader Jonathan Price joining the party. That means one more person for the “having to talk to Dan Levi rota” so spreading the misery of hearing about the evils of Brexit and why disgraced Guardian fantasist Carole Cadwalladr is a genius, more widely. That is all good news. But think of how we will suffer on the day, even if it is now for less than 2 hours each and make a donation HERE. Meanwhile we continue with our training walks. As I look at the snow falling here in Wales I am glad I did my weekly walk yesterday. But here is a photo from Robert in Cornwall as he made it up to 15 miles.

As per its recent trading statement, Finncap (FCAP), like every other City advisory and broking firm, has enjoyed a quite amazing year. It is the nature of this industry that it is either feast or famine and with massive M&A activity, debt and equity refinancings and even IPOs in the small and mid cap space, even Finncrap must have coined it in. That brings us to today’s news that its, self-important, smug and woke, CEO Sam Smith has bought 130,000 shares at 30.5p.

As I noted yesterday, members of the OneMillionTradeMarch chatroom on Reddit were voting on which stock to buy en masse at 8 AM on Monday to #burntheshorters. Oh dear, oh dear, ShareSoc is determined to make itself look ever more ridiculous. Not by defending its accounts being cobbled together by a former board member’s son, an undeclared related party transaction in the years when he was on the board, but over the Burford v LSE case where the judge openly laughed at and ridiculed Sharesoc’s intervention on behalf of Burford.

It has been a grim few weeks for my little cohort of dividend munchers as the Coronavirus panic has spread. It is not just that the share prices have fallen very sharply: there have to questions over whether the big dividends will be scrapped, let alone chopped.

In today's podcast I start with how Roger Lawson wants laws changed that will shut ShareProphets down and is using Burford (BUR) as his pretext. I look at how the AIM demise of Avanti (AVN) shows how wrong Lawson is and at lessons we can all learn. I cover Providence Resources (PVR) and its dirtbag fat cat boss Tony O'Reilly Jnr, at Cabot Energy (TOAST), Mysale (MYSL) - another mark of shame for Burford's Nomad Macquarie and for Sir Philip Green - and at IMC Exploration (IMC) which is toxic.

The joke management of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) continues to insist that the AIM Casino is the world’s leading growth market. But the hard data from June 2019 shows once again that the fat cat LSE bosses are ‘avin’ a giraffe.
