Hello, Share Poolers. This old punter has Whitbread shares. It owns the Premier Inn, so must have suffered mightily during the lockdowns. As they’re gradually clawing back some of their old values, I won’t sell them. But once the present rising trend gives way to any weakness, I’ll probably let go. Nor will I buy any shares in the hospitality game probably for some time.

Once again, the JD Wetherspoon (JDW) founder is a brave voice of sanity lashing the madness behind the Government’s lockdown policy. He offers hard data to back his case, there can be no response. The great man opines:

I start with a few words on Greece and lockdown as per this article from my own website. Then I discuss why I ignore broker share price targets and then the use of the sort of reasoning I’d need to show to get into INSEAD to do an MBA with relation to claims made by companies. Those two sections cover Ariana (AAU) and Remote Monitored Systems (RMS). I also look at MyHealthChecked (MHC) and at Catenae (CTEA).

The IPO of Nightcap (NGHT) was pushed back from pre Christmas to early January which means that in announcing results for the period 23rd September to December 31 2020, it reveals sod all of interest which allows boss Sarah Willingham to engage in fantasies about expanding her chain from 10 to 50 units. This disgrace of an IPO gets more tawdry by the day.

This all looks fishier than a case of seven week old kippers left in the sun. You will remember that on 1 February 2021 the three patsy directors of Iconic (ICON), who were paid two hundred grand a year each to do the bidding of toxic Dave Sefton, quit before they were pushed and that day signed new contracts to work direct for toxic Dave’s Greencastle. Greencastle owned assets thanks to deals funded by Iconic in return for Iconic getting a management contract but that contract was also terminated on February 1. That should be a hanging offence but it gets worse.

When you elect a socialist crackpot like Justin Trudeau, a hereditary politician and all round knobhead, it will eventually end in tears. The problem with socialists is that eventually they run out of other people’s money, as the greatest leader this country has ever known once observed. So in the snows of the socialist hell hole that is Canada, they are not yet at the pet eating stage but homelessness and hunger are a growing problem. But at least Mr Trudeau hopes to end lockdown in time to wear his Eid socks at the Pride parade. Or is it the other way round?

Hello, Share Swappers. Another of my modest selections is breaking through its all-time record today. Creightons (CRL) makes hand sanitisers for which there has been an obvious demand. But the fact that supermarkets have been ordering lots more of the stuff has given the overall brand more prominence.

Sports, leisure and mobility equipment group Tandem (TND) has made a trading update including that “unaudited group revenue for the full year was approximately £37.1 million” and “revenue to the end of January 2021 was approximately 75% ahead of the same period last year”. So what of a now 545p share price, £27.5 million market cap, it is up to?…

My pal Luke Johnson has been a massive critic of the lockdown policy of Bonkers Boris Johnson but, for him at least, every cloud has a silver lining; he has managed to pick up the Curious Brew beer and cider brands for a pittance from Aquis listed Chapel Down (CDGP).
