Hello Share Shufflers. Uncle Tom and Steve write appreciably about the touch sensor king Zytronic (ZYT). And I thought I’d like to support their enthusiasm. In an age when many more of us rely on digital gizmos, there can be little doubt that touch screens are more and more essential to those folks seeking an easier life
Hello Share Tasters. This old punter likes a touch of excitement in a humdrum life. So I have a ‘fun money’ pot for very volatile shares. However, the vast majority of my share stash is in reliable companies I’ve researched throughly and intend to hold hands with for a long time. These deep searches, dear reader, I usually pass on to you by way of share tips.
Hello, Share Takers. It’s possible you’re in light-hearted mood after taking the advice, over the last few months, of various writers on this glorious website to buy shares in oil companies. They’ve since soared on the galloping price of oil and gas. So allow me to be frivolous while the markets are closed and look at some of the superstitions that can govern the buying or selling of shares.
Hello, Share Shiners. While relieved to know Tom Winnifrith won’t sack me, I must respond to his criticisms of my outlook for share shifters in climate change and any future lockdowns. Firstly, He doesn’t agree that carbon emissions lead to global warming saying it would happen anyway. But what he or I think doesn’t matter to shareholders. It’s what the majority of investors believe – and it concurs with most scientists that the planet is warming up. TW Note as opposed to in 1974 when nearly all scientists warned of a coming ice age – but maybe they will be right at some stage.
First up I again mention booking your MineProphets tickets for July 18. I hope to have more news on speakers shortly but book ahead HERE. secondly my local MP, understandably, hates me and is not very bright so may not act on my Versarien (VRS) letter so I beg you to send one to your MP. Then I discuss Tomco (TOM), its news today and how clever I am before tackling Mosman (MSMN), as it tries a multi-currency turd polish.
After yesterday's bombshell I understand Elecosoft (ELCO) has threatened legals. This, as I explain, is a sure fire sell signal. I discuss Intu (INTU) - ouzo time for me - and the forthcoming banking crisis ahead of which Metro Bank (MTRO) is one sure fire short. And I look at Tomco (TOM) urging it to come clean on its true financial position.
I start with two points of order on my next premium podcast (out later tonight) and on July 18 ( more details tomorrow). Then I look at Walcom (WALG) and lessons learned, Tomco (TOM) and lessons not being learned as who gives a flying wotsit about criminality on AIM, and at Cineworld (CINE) where there are four reasons to stay short.
Shares in Tomco (TOM) have continued to race ahead even thought it is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy as those who broke insider dealing laws by forward selling last week’s placing, which had to be scrapped after it emerged the company had lied to investors, scuttled to buy back. That offers an opportunity and so I can reveal…
If only to protect themselves folks at Turner Pope and Shard Capital need to take urgent action. There is clear insider dealing and crime evident at Tomco (TOM) as more than 100% of the issued share capital looks set to change hands today. At Iconic (ICON) I detail lie, after lie after pointless fecking lie relating to an RNS of 12 September 2019 - will my pal Damon Heath do the decent thing and pull the plug?
Following the shocking revelation that Tomco (TOM) had lied to investors it has pulled the £1.5 million placing at 0.4p announced on Wednesday leaving it running on fumes. In fact, I’ll wager you a line or two of finest Colombian marching powder, direct from the City’s grubbiest dealing floors, that it is technically insolvent. Yet its shares, returning from suspension, have rocketed ahead to 0.775p, a gain of c75%. The FCA should be hot footing it to the offices of broker Turner Pope without delay. I smell crime.
I see that Barry “The Tit” Gibb at broker Turner Pope has produced a gushing note on Avacta (AVCT ) today. Maybe that will help a few more Turner Pope clients to flip the stock they got in the recent 120p placing. Or maybe The Tit just wants a distraction from wittering an about Tomco (TOM), shares in which remain suspended although it has, today, been forced to admit that its RNS that accompanied a Turner Pope placing yesterday, contained a massive porky. Back to Avacta, when your cheerleader in chief is “The Tit” you know it is right to be bearish.
Oh dear,. Oh dear, this looks very grim for Tomco (TOM). Gary Newman slated the heavily discounted bailout placing at 0.4p announced first thing. But it seems that Tomco has been telling porkies and at 2.52 PM its shares were suspended pending an announcement. What will that say “ We are scumbags and fucking liars!” would be my suggested headline.
When you combine one of the least successful AIM listed natural resources companies with probably the worst bucket shop brokers around, then you rarely end up with a good outcome.
After a picnic lunch with the family: the 30th lap, only 15 to go...this is from the far edge of the second river field, a marshy area where the shocking wildlife diversity will be revealed tomorrow.
By 9am this morning he had completed 17 laps, having set off at 4.40am. The Mrs provided coffee and a bacon sandwich. Only 28 laps to go.
Hello, Share Flingers. This is a big weekend for shareprophets.com. Uncle Tom has brought together probably the best line-up ever for diamond advice on how to make more money from our share portfolios. He can do this because of the sheer respect the City has for his fraud busting analysis. Now, there will be some who seek to save a tenner by not tapping into this treasure trove. Even though the tiny fee is less than one trade with your broker.
We're inviting you to send pictures in of what you see out of your window and/or of your new workspace. Just email them to editorial@shareprophets.com . Today, we're looking at the view of Tom, 30 yards into Wales. The first photo was from two weeks ago when the tree was full of blossom. Yesterday's photo is of the grass below a tree whose branches are now bare, Below it the petals lie as if the lawn is covered with pink snow.
We're inviting you to send pictures in of what you see out of your window and/or of your new workspace. Just email them to editorial@shareprophets.com . Today, we're looking at the view of Tom, 30 yards into Wales.
As a rule, Tom resents any downtime on ShareProphets, and he hates deliberate downtime the most. Even a scheduled 3am Sunday morning shutdown is enough for put him on a rampage resulting in Tom targeting some otherwise honest, hard-working UK listed company and its sainted shareholders. So, a two day quiet period is an unusal Christmas gift from Santa.
Today's news is shocking but should not shock you as I have warned this would happen. Anyone invested in commercial property shares is insane for reasons I explain again and as for an open-ended fund they are even more insane. I also look at the latest accounting wrongdoing at Ted Baker (TED) and M&C Saatchi (SAA). Do no auditors show professional scepticism these days. Then there is comment on Tomco (TOM) and value destruction. Oh and there is a snake story too.
If it happens and when I can tell you I shall. Meanwhile I discuss Malcolm's bonkers views on housebuilding shares and, at length, the dogs that are Tomco (TOM) and Highlands Natural Resources (HNR) with asides on the Dallas TV show, who shot JR and my cousin Jeff's "crime" and the 3DM fraud.
I am not well as the repeated coughing implies. I have self diagnosed and think I may have bronchitis. Anyhow apologies for more coughing today. In the podcast I look at Tomco (TOM), Conroy Gold (CGNR), Sports Direct (SPD) and at Kier (KIE).
TomCo Energy (TOM) seems to have become very popular all of a sudden with the share price almost doubling in the last few days.
Hello Share Shorters. What a peculiar place Shareland is. We have multi-millionaires and billionaires with so much money they could never spend it. Yet some hang onto every penny. Then we see the other end of the share spectrum where a bunch of (mostly ageing) heroes walk 33 miles and raise nearly £50,000 for kids who face appalling disadvantages. How many small charity walks realise that kind of dough? Most of the donors will be from our shareholder community.
In today's bearcast I take a very detailed look at IQE (IQE) and explain why the shares are worth 40p max, potentially half of that. I also cover Blue Jay Mining (JAY), Yourgene (YGEN), Tomco (TOM), Cloudbuy (CBUY) and F40 member POS Walcom (WALG). If you enjoyed this, I think, profanity free bearcast, follow a bloke from the Grim North who donated enough to buy a whole house in the welfare safari and support the Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE.
I warned you that Tomco (TOM) was pumping ahead of a placing. Some poor saps ignored that advice and paid up to 4.5p per share earlier this week. I hope they lubed up well as this morning £600,000 was raised at just 2.75p. Ouch! But this money will be pissed away just like all the other monies this POS company has raised. The City's No 1 oil analyst, Zac "the Knife" Phillips of SP Angel is damning in his morning email to clients. The great man opines:
In today's extra long podcast I reflect that one day folks like Julie Meyer will win and I shall call it a day. I have lasted two years longer than John Hempton predicted. I also look back on a curious fraud from my early days back in, I think, 1995. I look at Tomco (TOM), Range Resources (RRL), RedT (RED), Columbus Energy (CERP) and VSA valuations, Goldstone Resources (GRL), Verseon (VERS) and Domino's Pizza (DOM). If you enjoyed this, I think, profanity free bearcast, follow a bloke from the Grim North who donated enough to buy a whole house in the welfare safari and support the Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE.
Well before the end of June, Tomco (TOM) needs to get away another placing to avoid crash landing in its up alley. To that end, the £3.9 million market cap at 4.3p is a complete rum 'n; coke. Bt the ramp is underway ahead of the next bailout and thus we have a statement today which has failed to impress the City's No 1 oil analyst. Zac "the knife" Phillips of SP Angel writes:
Did you listen to Tom's Bearcast yesterday? The section i particularly liked concerned the comparison of Domino Pizza's (DOM) annual franchisee jamboree to a Billy Graham convention which - i am guessing because unsurprisingly I have never attended one - is completely spot-on in terms of the hoped-for fervour of the room.
In today's bearcast I look at Widecells (WDC), RM2 (RM2), Kier (KIE), Tomco (TOM), Northern Bear (NTBR), Driver (DRV) and Regency Mines (RGM). If you enjoyed this bearcast, follow Jim Mellon and support the Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE.
In today's podcast I start with Deutsche Bank and the dire problems faced by the EU. Who really wants to stay in bed with this corpse? That pans out to wider reasons to be bearish and I cannot stress too much look not at P&Ls but at balance sheets. I look specifically today at Photonstar Led (PSL), Tomco (TOM), Low & Bonar (LWB), Argo Blockchain (Don't laugh at me too much), Optibiotix (OPTI), IQE (IQE) and the scandalous behaviour of team BlueJay Mining (JAY), moving on from the points flagged up HERE
The real issue with Tomco (TOM) is that it will be out of cash within three months. another issue is that no-one really trusts it. Oh.. and its assets are shite. Other than that it looks like a great company. Today it tried to puff the share price ahead of an inevitable placing as discussed in bearcast HERE. The City's No 1 oil analyst Zac "the knife" Phillips of SP Angel is damning. The great man writes...
Gabriel's dossier should appear here 2.15 PM London time. It is explosive. In today's podcast I discuss Telit (TCM) and shamed FinnCrap, Halosource (HAL) and hapless Neil Woodford, Audioboom (BOOM) and a backfiring spoof, Tomco (TCM), Yourgene (YGEN) and the weather here in Greece as the olive harvest draws to a close.
In today's podcast I look at Tomco (TOM), Watchstone (WTG), the bastard son of Quenron, Condor Gold (CNR), dire numbers from WH Ireland (WHI) and the read across to the FinnCrap IPO, Amedeo Resources (AMED), the Sith Lord Zak Mir and Optibiotix (OPTI) and at Haydale (HAYD)
Okay, he is a conceited, overpaid, arrogant mother so I don't really feel sorry for him but I explain his appalling problem at doomed RM2 (RM2). I also look at Inspirit (INSP), Sabien (SNT) and Tomco (TOM) all three of which should be taken out and shot as their sole purpose on the AIM Casino is as a funder for the coke and hookers used by crony capitalists in the City. I explain a flaw (or two) in Malcolm's thesis today as I look at three retailers in trouble: Marks & Spencer (MKS), Debenhams (DEB) and Mothercare (MTC).
I know. I know. The price of coke and also of hookers is going up. I blame Brexit. What we need are frictionless borders so we can import more of both from Albania to keep the City boys happy. Pro tem that means brokers need to hold their noses (so to speak) and act for anyone. Even proven shysters like Tomco (TOM).
SVS Securities did a bailout placing for the fraud MySquar (MYSQ) days before its downfall, knowing full well that the company was a wrong ‘un. That had to be reversed PDQ as it emerged that the ex CEO had half inched almost a million quid.. Suffice to say it will act for almost anyone and its reputation is of being a thoroughly low grade and morally bankrupt operation. So when it quits an account to protect its reputation you know that the company in question is toxic. Welcome to long time uber dog Tomco (TOM)
Hello, Share Spinners. Another weekend is upon us which gives a chance to throw in a few general and unrelated thoughts about the perils and the opportunities of a very unstable share market at the moment. The main preoccupation of most of us, I suspect, is whether we should turn our shares into cash. This is not the time to turn everything into mazuma, I would suggest. But it might be wise to convert a third of our portfolio into the hard stuff.
Hello Share Chewers, Though Uncle Tom is not a fan, I feel confident enough to bring Inmarsat (ISAT) to your attention again. It’s in a recovery orbit and, as I write, its shares are up another 10%. And after hours on Friday we discovered why..
Hello Share Braves. I’m so disgusted with the sort of person who’s now common and becoming more frequent in Shareland, that I’m actively pursuing other ways to glean an honest income from my pile. You only have to look at what Tom is having to put up with these days to have sympathy with my current jaundiced view of the Big City.
Mr Allinson works for Cardew and bullied me in a most unpleasant way last Wednesday. Perhaps he thinks that he has found a journalist easily bullied. If so, the odious A grade shit thinks wrongly. And he is refusing to answer a key question about his client Air Partner (AIR). Elswhere I look at Mothercare (MTC), Tomco (TOM) and Carpetright (CPR). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Make sure you book a free ticket HERE using the promotional code WINNIFRITH.
Shares in Tomco (TOM) are up by 40% today at 2.2p-3p thanks to a jam not even tomorrow but one day statement. But caveat emptor. The City's No 1 oil analyst Zac "the knife" Phillips of SP Angel warns that the business is just plain worthless. He opines:
Hello, Share Walkers. Anyone not subscribing the measly £5.99 a month to reap all the trading advantages of this beautiful website is probably taking an unacceptable risk. Especially at this time of year, when you still have a chance to sell your losers to cut your capital gains bill.
Hello, Share Chewers. I bought many of my IQE (IQE) shares at around 20p. I saw them rise to 140p. But after reading disparaging comments by Uncle Tom, I sold three-quarters of the holding. Sadly, the remaining quarter fell to 104p a few weeks ago.
In today's podcast I discuss the nonsense at The People's Operator (TPOP), speculate at what happened and ask that the Oxymorons at AIM Regulation do something to stop this happening yet again. I look at Tomco (TOM) and the madness of Mifid, at Clear Leisure (CLP) and more blockchain insanity and at Premier Africa (PREM). I also cover MySquar (MYSQ) where we all seem agreed as to its fate.,
Hello, Share Twangers. You may have your suspicions if I return again to the subject of fair payment for the huge number of well-researched articles on this unique website. But I must at least try and save you from the possibilities of losing huge dollops of money.
Hello, Share Mashers. It is not often that my good self and my more intelligent colleagues Uncle Tom and Steve Moore commend the same share. There are, after all, zillions of choices to be made in the markets. But we did agree on Zytronic (ZYT), the successful niche company that specialises in the very fashionable area of touch sensors.
Hello Share Poolers. Shorting ain’t for moi. I’ve lost too much money, too fast to make it pleasurable. Painful is more the word.
Hello Share Pinkers. As the markets are closed, I thought I might do a weekend piece to encourage you to carry on trading once the doors open again. We are constantly reminded on this legendary website that shares are overvalued and about to crumble. I don’t doubt it, though I’m fairly convinced the bull run has some months to go yet.
Hello Share Toddlers. My weekend piece suggesting we don’t sell our shares too soon received a critical response from Uncle Tom. It’s a return to the familiar battle between me in the blue corner and the sage of Bristol in the red one.
It is 7.46 AM, doors open in 45 minutes, his first talk is at 9 AM so how to kill time? Approve a few articles...the calm before the storm
Hello Share Riders. I’d been playing the markets for many years before I went to my first investment show in London. Like everyone else in this golden game, I thought I knew it all anyway. Nor did I want to be bored to death by grim-faced grey-suits, all younger than I. But Uncle Tom told me his show was different and I attended my first UK Investor Show four years ago.
Hello Share Swappers. We are now living in even scarier times than usual in Shareland. What with Brexit, Big Donald, a possible new cold war, inflation and growing world debt. We are also being frightened witless by the continuing shocking revelations by Uncle Tom and his top team of investigators. If I were running a shaky company, especially one on AIM, I would not be sleeping - ever.
Hello Share Swingers. The most arduous element of share-shifting is having to make big decisions, knowing that the wrong choice can cost you thousands of pounds. But which is the correct way to make a choice? As the markets are not open at the weekend, this is a good time to examine the ensible way to make a your decisions in future.
Hello Share Trimmers. Though I usually research stocks very carefully, I am one of those idiots that, once in a blue moon, invests in a company I know little about. You get a gut feeling sometimes and somehow don’t want to spoil it by too detailed an examination. One such share for me is Sula (SULA), the gold and iron miner. I saw a glowing piece on this magnificent website not so long back on this stock.
Hello Share Manglers. It’s that thrilling time of year when this old punter arrogantly chooses your New Year resolutions for you. And please make sure you heed them this time if you want (possibly) to make the most of your profits in 2017.
Bah, humbug! Last year’s final trading session before Christmas saw the RNS system take an early bath, but this year it was in full flow right through to 6.30pm, even though the markets closed at 12.30. So who slipped out bad news as everyone was off doing their last minute Christmas shopping? And who went the extra mile by leaving the release of bad news right into the evening? We had some cracking entries on that score, and we have a winner to announce as regards the sweepstake.
Hello Share Rattlers. Quite a few of my friends face a grim Christmas. They are undergoing radio and chemo treatment for cancer. Is it me, or is the number of cases growing even faster than normal?
Hello Share Twiddlers. There are some shares in our bag, gang, that we know, just know will keep on bumping up our investment. I have brought to your notice recently the Welsh computer engineer IQE (IQE). That is one of them. Another is Legal and General (LGEN). And a third is the Honkers Bonkers bank (HSBA).
Hello Share Pickers. Uncle Tom wrote a a blistering attack on one of my previous takes on a share | thought was a reasonable punt. He has a fuller knowledge of the people now involved and he’s not an ardent fan of some of them.
Hello Share Takers. I’ve often thought that companies which do boring things can be perky investments. Is it because punters avoid them as they just don’t seem exciting enough? And then when the penny drops that they are making good money, a welter of heavy buying can make the stock soar. Long after the cannier investor bought them earlier and a lot cheaper.
Hello Share Twiddlers. As it’s the weekend, I thought it might be an idea to feature an aspect of share-shifting which is sometimes overlooked by the gloomy forecasters we have among our midst. You see, our great game is not so much driven by the nuts and bolts of a company’s performance, as by pop psychology which drives us all, often in an illogical fashion.
Hello Share Twiners. If I am an optimistic bull as far as shares are concerned, then at least I am sometimes right. The current elevation of the Footsie, as it approaches 7,000 again, bears me out. Those who predicted a suicidal Footsie after Brexit were wrong. Many shares are simply blistering ahead, and show no reals signs of fizzling out. Yet Uncle Tom has just said in his bearcast that I am plain wrong to be so bullish.
Hello Share Squeezers. I have been a big fan of Inmarsat (ISAT) the big satellite company. Over the last few years, it has made me loadsamoney. But as Uncle Tom rightly said a few months ago, the story has since changed to the company’s detriment. And the shares have lost a third of their value over the last half year.
Following on from a few bearish pieces from Tom on FastForward Innovations (FFWD) that you can see HERE, I have my own views on why what was the “Jim Mellon show” but is fast becoming the “Lorne Abony show” is a no-go investment for me.
Tomco Energy (TOM) is not a company I have researched. In fact, I don’t really know anything about Tomco other than one fact. Its placement on September 26th was forward sold. Just look at the chart below and it is clear as day what happened. In the year leading up to September 17th, Tomco traded in an end of day close range of between 1.1p and 1.675p. This valued the business at between £20.5million and £31.3million. Suddenly, on September 18th, Tomco’s share price started to nosedive. In the space of a week it dropped roughly 25% to close at 0.82p on September 25th. The following morning, I imagine to the shock of most ordinary shareholders, Tomco announced it had raised £1million (before expenses) at 0.5p. Apart from the wanton destruction of shareholder value, what is saddest about yet another sordid little episode on AIM, is that whoever is behind this blatant market abuse cannot be remotely bothered to cover their tracks. They know the AIM Regulation team will pass the buck and say it’s not in their remit to investigate. They know the FCA will do nothing about this. They know no one will be punished. How much longer will the London Stock Exchange sully its reputation by allowing this wretched behaviour to go on?
