Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Woodford and another £10m down the Proton Partners pan - a new valuation scandal

I am afraid that I still continue to get a stream of letters from victims of charlatan and snake oil salesman Darren Winters. His courses are worthless and the claims he makes are just untrue, as the ASA noted here. Yet Winters regards brushes with the ASA or The Sheriff of AIM fighting on behalf of victims in the Courts (and winning!) as just another cost of business and carries on, as he has done for almost 20 years, with industrial scale larceny. What follows is the teacher’s tale

Another day and another expose of the failing Australian business of Purplebricks (PURP) appears. Remember that bulls need Purplebricks Oz to switch from heavy losses to profit if forecasts are to be met. It just does not look likely. In the latest expose from the AFR we learn:

To be fair, just a month and six days after launching in the USA Purplebricks (PURP) appears to be gaining some traction. Already it lists 1,460 apartments for sale in Los Angeles so folks are at least using it. Perhaps they like the claims made on the website Purplebricks.com?

Natch the AIM listed uber dog Sabien (SNT) never got around to mentioning it but, like Purplebricks (PURP) today, it was censured by the Advertising Standards Agency, ASA, back in January 2013. Good companies just do not need to mislead clients.

I apologise to another Anglo-Irishman for the misquote. The advertising watchdog the ASA has for the fourth time in 18 months slammed Purplebricks (PURP) for lying to potential customers. Let's bve clear: companies with a good product can afford to tell the truth. Natch Purplebricks says it has changed its adverts and there is nothing to worry about. But that is on just two days data....

Having received a fascist lawyers letter from heavyweight lawyers Schillings myself I know that it can be quite intimidating. Mine (HERE) was on behalf of the fraudsters Quindell (QPP) and I told Schillings that I would "see you in Court bitchez." I knew Quenron would not dare go through a disclosure process. Estate Agent Chris Wood is armed with the same knowledge and has thus responded robustly to a missive on behalf of Purplebricks. I have chatted to Chris at length today and, as someone convinced, that Purplebricks is a zero I am happy to republish the missive from Schillings and the response of Chris which adds mountains of evidence to the fact that Purplebricks is a can of worms which is spending ever greater sums trying to gag critics with fascist missives from expensive lawyers. Over to Chris:

AIM-listed ASA Resources (ASA), formerly Mwana Africa, has been getting into a right mess of late, with significant funds having been remitted from operating subsidiaries in Zimbabwe and not properly accounted for. Funds remitted to group entities in Hong Kong have not been accounted for and it seems that the bank accounts in Hong Kong appear to remain under the control of two recently sacked directors, Mr Yat Hoi Ning (CEO) and Mr Yim Kwan (FD). It is an all too familiar story for followers of the ShareProphets AIM-China Filthy Forty: directors walk off with the cash, get sacked but can’t be reached. Now ASA tells us that it’s shares are suspended pending financial clarification – and a third director, Mr “Brian” Ching Fung Hung having gone AWOL has now also been removed from the board.

Having yesterday reported that there is strong evidence of funds “amounting to several million US dollars” being transferred to entities in China without full value being received and that “analysis reveals that there is a pressing need for cash”, ASA Resource Group (ASA) states it now “provides further information on the group's cash position”…

Early this month ASA Resource Group (ASA) announced its directors had “received certain anonymous allegations relating to… certain aspects of the financial management at Freda Rebecca” (gold mine in Zimbabwe in which it has an 85% interest). However, it sought to reassure that “the company's directors believe these allegations to be completely mischievous”. Now though “the board is extremely disappointed to report”… Uh oh…

I am delighted to say that the snake oil salesman Darren Winters, slammed by the ASA for telling blatant lies as we revealed HERE last week, has decided not to appeal against his latest court room thrashing by one of his victims, a case we funded. Given the Judge's damning verdict in Snake Oil vs Mr O, that was a wise call by the Charlatan. But even now he is trying to swindle us out of 40p. Think again Darren and your frightful wife Tatjana, the Foxy Legals are on the case.

I think that makes it ouzo o'clock already, stockmarket charlatan and snake oil salesman Darren Winters, fresh from his crushing Court defeat on 1 February bankrolled by The Sheriff of AIM, has now been slammed by the Advertising Standards Agency for lying to potential investors. The judgement below is damning. We are due in court again on April 3 backing another of his victims so this is very useful indeed.
