Notes from Underground: Money ties

Published 139 days ago

The column was delayed today as your humble correspondent recovers from yesterday's UK Investor Show, easily the biggest and best of the 15 years that Tom has been organising these things. This would be my tenth.

Pizza HardMan Darren Atwater to make main stage debut at UK Investor - shock!

Published 143 days ago

This is our fifteenth show and, I think, that this is the 6th that the Pizza Hardman Darren Atwater has been involved in. But at last he has agreed to make a main stage debut and it is not to talk about pizza. For what you may not know is that Darren is a trained journalist and, as those who read Notes From Underground every Sunday know quite a funny writer when he wants to be. And so he is on stage.

BMR Group at 6.125p worth 27p after Kabwe news says WH Ireland

Published 255 days ago

Ok, WH Ireland employs a good selection of total tossers and it is Nomad and Broker to BMR Group (BMR) so its research is not impartial. But the news from Kabwe yesterday was good and, as you know, I am a fully paid up member of the Alex Borrelli fan club. Borrelli has saved BMR after the former chairman stole all its cash and is one of AIM's honest chaps.

Metal Tiger - All change, all change

Published 257 days ago

No great surprise after the Metal Tiger (MTR) / BMR Group (BMR) takeover debacle but this morning, Metal Tiger announced wholesale changes to its Board as I felt it was inevitable. Worth taking a closer look and trying to understand what it means for the business from here.

Metal Tiger & BMR Group Non Merger: the real story?

Published 260 days ago

I realise that there are some out there calling for the head of Alex Borelli after the failed merger attempt between Metal Tiger (MTR) and BMR (BMR), two companies where he is the CEO. I admit it all looks odd. But my initial position is based on the assumption that Borelli saved BMR, going in after the previous boss stole all the cash. Fundamentally he is a good and honest man so surely he would not do anything dodgy. Having dug around I put to you another hypothesis.

Metal Tiger and BMR deal – All a bit of damp squib but surely Borelli has to go

Published 262 days ago

Following the strange goings-on last Friday, which I covered HERE, with the disappointingly low offer for Metal Tiger (MTR) by BMR Group (BMR), it has all come to a quick end with a couple of announcements on Monday and Tuesday this week, but surely Borelli’s position at Metal Tiger is now untenable.

Metal Tiger and BMR deal – WTF is Borelli thinking??

Published 266 days ago

An astonishing RNS late yesterday detailing a potential shocking offer for Metal Tiger (MTR) by BMR Group (BMR) has left me, and many of their respective shareholders, scratching our heads. Alex Borelli is the CEO of both companies – what the hell is playing at?

Conroy Gold, BMR & Mkango Resources Present at Mining Maven: What happened next?

Published 274 days ago

I have no idea why Malcolm Palle of Mining Maven organises the events he does. He charges companies far less for his seminars than other folks so, after hiring a pleasant venue and providing booze and food for all as well as paying his own train fare down from the grim North he won't be making much. But all credit to him for putting on fun evenings. I commend him for his Saintly community spirit and reckon that more folks should pop along as I did last night.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 15 January: The Force Awakens, The Sith Lord cast into exile

Published 582 days ago

The Sith Lord Zak Mir will be leaving the rebel alliance for good on Sunday. As of now this site is (with the exception of the miserable froggie Thierry who has penned a great piece today) fundamentals only, no TA nonsense. We will do some buy tips but not of that ramping shite Bulletin Board Morons love - this site is becoming more critical and bearish. In terms of the market I comment on the joke that is ISDX in light of Nigel's great article today then onto MX Oil (MXO) - explaining market abuse & insider dealing for Wildes and other morons - LGO Energy (TOAST), Koovs (KOOV), UKRProduct (UKR), EG Solotions (EGS), Webis (WEB) and BMR (BMR)

The next video interview from Gold & Bears is with my old pal Alex Borelli, the Chairman of BMR Mining (BMR) who has saved this company from the extinction it faced thanks to the way its former boss stole all the cash.

Bushveld Minerals; a stonking opportunity just got bigger

Published 1083 days ago

Once more I find my attention diverted from Berkley Minerals (BMR) because of news from Bushveld Minerals (BMN). The wide spread on Bushveld’s share price seems to have sent Mr. Market to sleep, but that is inexcusable. The news released today is massive and if identical news was released by a company like Rare Earth Minerals (REM) then the share price would be up 30% or more. It is up 3% and this is a stonking opportunity

Green light at last for Berkeley Mineral

Published 1096 days ago

Masoud Alikhani, veteran chairman of Berkeley Mineral Resources (BMR), is celebrating the belated approval by environmental authorities in Zambia for its $18.7 million (£11 million) lead, zinc and copper tailings project at Kabwe in the heart of the central African country’s mining district. According to the AIM-quoted company, first tailings production could start ‘within  days’ following written approval from the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), which also triggers the second half of a £1 million equity financing of Berkeley at a lowly 1.4p a share through Park Lane stockbroker Novum Securities.
