Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Woodford and another £10m down the Proton Partners pan - a new valuation scandal

Nine days ago Concepta (CPT) was pushing aggressively at UK Investor - having just re-announced a deal with Boots - and mug punters responded, paying up to 3.75p to buy shares in the market. Last week I was made an insider. Apparently two big funds were desperate for shares and a placing to raise £2 million was underway...

FinnCrap (FCAP) has today listed on AIM having raised £3.75 million of new monies while insiders dumped £1.25 million of shares on mug punters. Unfortuanately for smug Sam Smith and the FinnCrap team a statement on current trading from Numis (NUM) shows just why FinnCrap rushed to get its own IPO away and why it should be avoided like the plague.

Do you remember when shares in Sound Energy (SOU) were 80p+ and some commentators thought they would multi-bag from there? I warned you that this was a stock built on spinning plates and that, one day, reality would cause pain and misery for shareholders. That day is today, the shares are down by 29% at just 17p. But could it get even worse? You bet it could.

An RNS has to be signed off by a Nomad as fair and not misleading. UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) is sometimes forced to correct an RNS which it turns out was in fact misleading but there is at least some control. On twitter UK Oil & Gas says what it likes. So can you spot the difference?

Strat Aero (AERO) is quite clearly insolvent. That its shares have not been suspended pending clarification is just another badge of shame for the world's most successful growth market, that is to say the AIM Casino. Today sees another pathetic attempt to sucker in mug punters to try to pump this worthless stock ahead of another bailout placing.

Death spiral provider Bracknor does not buy shares in companies. It loans the desperate, cash at pound of flesh rates which it then converts into shares at discounted rates and flogs to mug punters. That is the classic death spiral model. But to get such a death spiral away it needs a perception of market liquidity and also to avoid a complete short term collapse of the share price. And that brings us to Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO).

A rushed day, back to hospital in five minutes. Ahead I discuss why mug punters and Justin the Clown love blue sky rubbish like Cloudtag (CTAG) but not value plays. I discuss three value plays I know well two of which we own: San Leon (SLE), Obtala (OBT) and Guscio (GUSC). Boring is sexy. Then I look at a non value stock mugs like, North River Resources (NRRP). Then I discuss how one plays the game: fraud hunter vs fraudsters and yes that might involve producing mugs!

This is so shoddy. As I have pointed out on a number of occasions, Cloudtag (CTAG) has negative net current assets and is burning cash. Hitherto it has managed to persuade mug punters to buy into placings done at a premium to the prevailing share price on the basis that there was lots of jam tomorrow.

LGO Energy (LGO) has announced that it has raised £1.36 million in a placing at 0.25p and also that contractors have agreed to take payment of £590,000 of debts at the same price. This is a disastrous snub from the London Markets to David Lenigas as it was he who led this attempted bailout and mug punters were being promised a £5 million raise as you can see in leaked email correspondence below. Neil Ritson the hapless CEO of LGO admits that this is not enough, stating in the release:

Words fail me. You want a sure fire way to lose money then welcome to a new service launched by former City analyst Rob Mundy, Research Tree. It is in every way, shape or form an abomination which deserves to die at birth.

Independent Resoures (IRG) is almost bust and will do a placing to keep the lights on very soon. But its shares are up by 185% today at 0.3p thanks to an RNS which is a spoof aimed at fooling mug punters. It has worked, never underestimate the stupidity of AIM investors.

Of course the City of London is the most transparent, honest place on earth and as such the crony capitalists from across the Square Mile gathered last night at the Natural History Museum for yet another awards ceremony. Get on your dickies & party dresses, its all on expenses anyway.

At the Gold & Bears show some speakers insisted that institutional investors were so much smarter than retail investors. I am not so convinced. Just to show you that some mug punters wear expensive suits, meet Richard Penny, a high flying fund manager at Legal & General. After the Globo (GBO)scandal broke Mr Penny stated that the accusations levelled at the app developer were 'the worst I have seen in 10 years'.

In six days’ time at Gold & Bears I shall be posing 12 questions for fat Aussie share ramper Jabba the Hutt and explaining why every stock associated with the man is a slam dunk sell. But as I sit here on Flatbush Avenue Brooklyn here is a teaser for Big Dave. What do our readers think Leni Gas & Oil is?

If those foolish enough to have invested in Lenigas Cuba at 2p back in July are wondering how they might get their cash back I suggest they start doing a date check or two for I have a shocking revelation.

Back in July as David Lenigas raised £4.2 million at 2p for Lenigas Cuba, mug punters like market abuser Chris Oil were told a Standard Listing within 4-6 weeks would raise £5-10 million at 5p. Oh dear, it seems that 13 weeks later the ISDX IPO tomorrow will have seen just £200,000 raised at 5p. Big Dave has bombed! Now wait for the car crash as the maths are dire.

On October 8th 1300 men and women in black tie and pretty frocks will gather for the annual AIM awards dinner in London. Seats cost c£150 each but who cares, it is you dear mug punters who are paying. The website is a hoot.

Yesterday we asked you (HERE) when you expected LGO Energy (LGO) to issue its next batch of confetti given that its boss Neil Ritson had ruled out an August dump on mug punters. You seem to think it is not long.

And this is why the AIM casino is such a farce. The interests of fat cat directors are simply not aligned with those of the owners of far too many companies, that is to say mug punter shareholders. Maybe they cannot be arsed to read Annual Reports but they should and they should be revolted and revolt. Meet Peter Hill, the CEO of casino listed Global Petroleum (GBP).

Following an AGM on Friday 434 million new shares in Rose Petroleum (ROSE) (33% of the enlarged share capital) will be issued on Monday. Ben Turney explained this shocking state of affairs HERE. Some mug punters seem to read a few things on charts and reckon that the shares – now 2.28p – could hit 4p. Nonsense, they are a sell with a 1.6p target. Here’s why.

Independent Resources (IRG) won last week’s AIM Cesspit pump and dump (on mug punters) prize as it got its rescue £2.76 million placing away at 3p (the shares being 6.5p) after the pump but before the dump. But a City source makes it clear that the operation is not over yet.

Where do you start with the new posterboy of the AIM Cesspit, Tangiers Petroleum (TPET) and news yesterday that it has increased its fundraise from A$5 million to A$9 million? The whole thing stinks
