Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Confessions of a non estate agent & is the Corbyn threat discounted?

Published 7 days ago

Recorded in the sauna that is my car, this bearcast comes in two parts. First are we as investors hyet discounting the political risk that comes not from Brexit but from Corbyn and a coalition of chaos with the SNP for I do think that is the probable next Government. Secondly, confessions of a non estate agent, yes Purplebricks (PURP) again. Now how about the 75% of bearcast listeners yet to donate to rogue bloggers for Woodlarks chip in and take us over the half way mark today? You can do so HERE

Purplebricks Headed for 50p

Published 8 days ago

That Purplebricks (PURP) remains above 100p after Tuesday’s announcement is surprising. With the closure of its Australian division and retrenchment in the US, the global growth story is dead, leaving the UK market as its primary focus where the going, by the company’s own admission, is tough.

Because i am such a fucking feminist I enjoy my 8th day of juggling full time parenthood and work. The net result is that my two year old son Joshua co-presents today's podcast. I explain why he has the requisite skills to be the next CEO of Eight Peaks Group (8PG) where we have major revalations about how management have screwed shareholders this weekend. Purplebricks: lack of profits warning, founder “is resigned”, Oz to be shut, US in a mess

Published 12 days ago

Well what’s not to like about the latest pot-pouri of bad news from Purplebricks (PURP)? I start with the basic premis that a company that screws both staff and customers will, in the end, come a cropper and – Purplebricks is such a company.  Only an arrogant buffoon such as Neil Woodford could fail to recognise that. So let’s start with the management change.

Purplebrickssucks.com - a website dedicated to how a company screws its employees and customers

Published 13 days ago

Purplebricks (PURP) is notorious for sending fascist lawyers letters to folks who criticise it. But in the US libel laws favour free speech not heavy handed corporates keen to gag whsitleblowers.  Ultimately a business model that is predicated on screwing both staff and customers is doomed to fail and I shall turn to the latest lack of profits warning from Purplebricks later today. However, for now, I inveite you do enjoy the world of Purplebrickssucks.com  - read at your leisure and having done so I am sure you'd agree that only a true moron or Neil Woodford, would want to own shares in this company.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The curse of loathsome ex Tory MP Tony Baldry is striking again

Published 24 days ago

In bearcast i raise unanswered questions about Westminster Group (WSG) run by smug lardarse Tony Baldry and ask how soon the next bailout placing will be and at what price. I look again at the most overvalued & over-ramped stock on AIM, Bidstack (BIDS), at BlueJay Mining (JAY) and at AO World (AO) and Purplebricks (PURP) two companies that boost profits by ripping off customers.

Purplebricks Remains a Sell

Published 26 days ago

The investment case for Purplebricks (PURP) is looking increasingly ragged. Even the analysts, not noted for being quick off the mark, seem to be losing faith – JP Morgan slashing its price target from 400p to 188p, and Berenberg really coming to its senses by replacing its 460p target with an 80p target. The disruptive growth story is now in shreds after February’s profit warning...

This week’s top disaster for Neil Woodford

Published 43 days ago

Our good friends over at Citywire have again come up with bad news for Neil Woodford, in revealing that investors in his Equity Income Fund (EIF) reacted badly to last month’s sequence of dismal news by cashing out to the tune of £160 million. Having started March with £4.7 billion, EIF slumped to £4.4 billion last month which suggests that redemptions are not the only problem for Woodford.

I look briefly at the lamentable coverage by analysts and the expense fiddling fourth estate of Purplebricks (PURP) and finally at the signs that The Big Short is finally about to come good in spades, I refer to BCA Marketplace (BCA). Happy Birthday Dad. I hope that you enjoy your "medicinal" apple based gift. I dislike many of the creeps who surround Nigel Farage but his Brexit party has my vote in the bag and I explain why. I look at Management Resource Solutions (MRS) as another red flag emerges for this insolvent piece of crap. I cover Westminster Group (WSG) run by loathsome swine Tony Baldry, Audioboom (BOOM), Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT) and his other dogs and Purplebricks (PURP) in a Joshua interrupted podcast.

Purplebricks – is it time for a Full Year lack of profits warning?

Published 55 days ago

Britain’s most conceited fund manager, Neil Woodford, has been catching the Purplebricks (PURP) falling knife all the way down and, as at October, his funds owned 29.25% of the company and so he really can’t buy many more shares. And the problem is that no-one else out there is daft enough to throw good money after bad and thus the stock continues to head south. At 123.8p to sell the shares are almost back at the level of the most recent profits warning on February 21. That tells you that another warning, a full year one, is one the way.

Purplebricks – catastrophic warning: target price 0p

Published 88 days ago

You cannot say that this site has not warned you repeatedly. But some folks like Neil Woodford knew better. Britain's top share blogger (mornings only), Thirsty Paul Scott, was also a fan and we know how accurate his analysis is. I don't know about Scott but Woodford has been averaging down aggressively. Neil always knows better which is why he is worth £37 million a year. Today we have another high profile horror story for Britain’s most conceited fund manager & yet another shocker for the nation's thirstiest share blogger, with a truly shocking lack of profits warning. I shall explain below why this makes the target price 0p....it is enough to turn a man to drink.

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: tales of total woe from my local estate agent - and how to profit from it on the short tack

Published 157 days ago

I visited my local Estate Agent yesterday about selling the house of the Mrs here in Bristol. He is a clever, honest and experienced chap who has done TV work and who I've known for a a while. I relay his numerous tales of woe which, I think, are symptomatic of the wider market, whatever headline data we are fed. If I am right how do you play the dire times ahead on the short tack? I discuss house builders in general, Barratt (BDEV) - if I said Bovis in the bearcast I meant Barratt -, Purplebricks (PURP) and BCA Marketplace (BCA) in this bonus podcast.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: You are going to Hell and your "blog" is toxic say two of my critics

Published 158 days ago

I deal with the critics in turn. The former, a Christian, has me wrong, the latter, a knobhead, is an apologist for enablers of crime. I then look in detail at Purplebricks (PURP) and is inevitable descent to zero, and at the implications of the sad tale of African Battery Metals (ABM). Then it is onto Bonmarche (BON) blaming Brexit for its woes not the crass stupidity of the bird who runs this business of the wider macro picture which she fails to recognise could sink her business completely. I also comment on BCA Marketplace (BCA) and on the pre-Christmas plans of Joshua and myself for today, far more important than this stockmarket malarky.

Purplebricks – purple faces at Woodford

Published 176 days ago

ShareProphets has been very wary of AIM-listed Purplebricks (PURP) ever since its IPO at the end of 2015. The business model looks questionable, given the state of the UK and global housing markets, and there has been plenty of controversy over its business practices of suppressing criticism. Add to that the persistent offloading of stock by insiders and one really wonders how well this disruptor will perform. But Neil Woodford has been buying like the shares are going out of fashion…which they are!

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: Deafening silence from Purplebricks, Malcolm WRONG (Bovis) and a UK house price crash?

Suffice to say Purplebricks is in ever deeper merde, Malcolm Stacey is wrong and there really could be a big fall in UK house prices and volumes and it is just partly linked to Brexit. In this podcast I cover MySquar (FRAUD), ADVFN (AFN) and Totally (TLY) in the battle of the anorexic Ethiopian super model balance sheets, Avanti Communications (AVN), Purplebricks (PURP) and ripping off customers as a business model, and also Angus Energy (ANGS). Post bearcast I have just had a good chat with Tim Steer who has a book out soon. More on that when it is published.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Distracted by the growing sex abuse scandal at Warwick School and by the rantings of Brokerman Dan

Published 198 days ago

I have been greatly distracted today. In part by some ludicrous piffle from Brokerman Dan, I explain why he is deluded. More importantly there is the growing sex and physical abuse scandal at my old school Warwick as I explained earlier today HERE. Today I have spoken to a second sexual abuse victim and been contacted by the new Head Master. Maybe something will happen. On the markets I look at First Derivatives (FDP), Angus Energy (ANGS), Purplebrocks (PURP) Totally (TLY) where Stevie Wonder could see that it is placing ahoy and Goldplat (GDP)

The Purplebricks bubble is starting to burst - keep selling

Purplebricks & Neil Woodford– good to see a man of conviction

I noted the other day that Neil Woodford seems to have been on a bit of a selling spree, having dumped shares in our Big Short BCA Marketplace (BCA) and more recently in Hostelworld (HSW), Forterra (FORT), Horizon Discovery (HZD) and Homeserve (HSV). But I see that the great man has been topping up his holding in Purplebricks (PURP).

Then I look at some other tossers from Ulster, First Derivatives (FDP) and the 3Xs. I comment briefly on Purplebricks (PURP) and Versarien (VRS) then move via BCA Marketplace (BCA) to Neil Woodford. Sensyne Health: A great IPO for Woodford but is it a Purplebricks or RM2 International from here?

Turning to my third, and the most recent, quoted constituent of Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT) this weekend, I thought I should give a warm welcome to Sensyne Health (SENS) that joined AIM on Friday at a very nice valuation indeed. It’s good to see that the words ‘healthtech’ and ‘AI’ are able to suck in as much dumb money from the markets these days as the word ‘blockchain’!

Update on June Sell Calls on Mimedx and Purplebricks

I don’t propose to dwell on Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) today as it is in danger of becoming an obsession to me, as to many others. Suffice it to say that what was shaping up to be a pretty disastrous trade is looking a lot less serious and it is now clear that Musk’s claim to have funding secured for a take-private deal at $420 per share was wide of the mark to put it mildly.

Purplebricks – the only reason the shares have not completely crashed is it is hard to borrow stock

Published 318 days ago

If Neil Woodford wants to make a few friends, as I sense right now he has none at all, he should put his stock in Purplebricks (PURP) up for borrow. Then at least the bears would like him. Because right now there is almost no borrow and the cost of shorting this company is c25% per annum which is a real deterrent. If there was some borrow these shares would halve at once after today’s shockingly bad results.

Purplebricks – a smokescreen ahead of Godawful results in the land of the deluded dope fiends (Canada)

The Canadian economy and housing market is tanking, in part thanks to the crackpot socialist policies of its preposterous PM Justin Trudeau. Update on Tesla - still a Short

Published 327 days ago

Two months ago at the UK Investor Show, I tipped Tesla (US - TSLA) as my top short for 2018 at $300. The shares are now 11% higher than that having touched $370 in the interim, so my timing has not been great and for that I apologise. Nevertheless, I still believe that, despite it being a crowded trade, and despite the fact that Elon Musk still enjoys unquestioning support from his cult followers, the company faces existential threats which could overwhelm it in short order and it is therefore the right thing to maintain a short position.

Purplebricks Aussie Business is failing and shrinking

I start on a rather sad personal note. Then it is onto Purplebricks (PURP) and the missing FY trading statement. Does that mean that the great day of a big de-rate looms? I look at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) in light of today's scoop, at Strat Aero (AERO) where if you look at the real maths the current ramp has created a joke valuation, at the People's Operator (TPOP) which should be sent to Dignitas and finally at IQE (IQE) where I ask if a profits warning is imminent? 5% of Bearcast listeners have donated to the Woodlarks charity walk but 95% have not! . We are now at 26% of our £20,000 target. As I prepare for a step up in my training walks tomorrow - pushing Joshua for 7.5 miles - to those who have  donated I say thank you. Purplebricks & Ticking Timebombs

Published 371 days ago

At last month’s UK Investor Show I grumbled about the difficulties of being short in the current fraud-friendly climate in which fundamental analysis seems way down the pecking order of share picking criteria and suggested that unless it can be shown that a company is in imminent danger of going bust (Carillion, for example) shorting right now is an uphill battle. I might have added that shorting a name where there is a small free float is also a dangerous game. Which brings me back to Purplebricks (PURP).

Purplebricks: new German money should not distract from warning on revenue; sell at 330p

Shares in Purplebricks (PURP) have had a good run of late, hitting 355p the other day, just a fraction shy of the price at which the German firm Axel Springer invested £125 million on the 26th of last month. Don't lose heart my fellow bears...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - why won't the Mrs come to see the new Death Wish as her birthday treat?

Published 412 days ago

Only kidding! Death Wish, which is not, as you might think, hapless Mayor Khan's new tourist promo video for London, is not out until Friday. So I gave the Mrs a far more suitable present for her birthday but what to give my Labour party loyalist sister Comrade N?. Back to the Mrs: I sense that I shall be watching the new Bruce Willis movie alone. I digress. In today's bearcast I look at Weatherley International (WTI), the fraud MySquar (MYSQ), Pathfinder Minerals (PFP),  Air Partner (AIR), Sosandar (SOS), IFG Group (IFP), IQE (IQE) - where I try not to be tasteless as I flag a difficult issue but apologise in advance if I offend anyone - and Purplebricks (PURP). If you like bearcasts then remember that at UK Investor on April 21 one of many highlights will be a live bearcast with myself and Paul Scott. Woodford Patient Capital Trust: Surely this is a breach of Investment Policy?

Purplebricks shares have tanked - what is going on? A cue for Neil Woodford to top up?

Published 425 days ago

In days gone by Britain's most conceited fund manager Neil Woodford would have noted how shares in Purplebricks (PURP) have slumped from 440p to c300p in just over three weeks and because Nomates always knows better than the market he would have topped up his holdings. But cash is a tad tight for Neil so he has not done so yet. Maybe he will indeed extend his fund's overdraft and catch another knife? But why are the shares tanking. I suggest you ask RICS.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Putting Paul Scott straight, no nudge nudge wink wink, Countrywide & Purplebricks

Published 438 days ago

Paul Scott is having a go at me on twitter and on the comments section here - which I publish as I believe in free speech - but I put him straight on what research means and why he is - not for the first time - applying a double standard. Come on old boy - be fair and look at the actual facts. Then I look at Vela (VELA) and what its share price says about sentiment on the AIM Casino. En passant I cover the dog Arian (AGQ) Finally a detailed look at Countrywide (CWD) - dire statement today - and where that leaves Purplebricks (PURP). Which is the bigger short? A tweet from Scott is below:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: MySquar & UKOG - spot the difference: not all "death spirals" are the same

Published 439 days ago

In today's bearcast I start with a reader complaint but then he is a tosser so who cares? Then it is onto looking at the differences between the funding facilities at UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and MySquar (MYSQ). I am bearish on both but the differences in the two packages are instructive. I look at Nature Group (NGR), Jim Mellon's uber-ramp FastForward (FFWD) and at Purplebricks (PURP) is the Neil Woodford bubble about to burst again, as even former supporters like Paul Scott admit my analysis was right and theirs wrong.

Woodford Patient Capital Trust Plc – the adverse impact of leverage on performance

Published 468 days ago

As we await today's NAV from, deep in the merde, Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT) as well as possible confirmation its unquoted holdings have surged through the 80% limit as well as potentially news on how close hitis to breaching the bank limit of 20% gearing, it is worth reminding ourselves of one reason why it is in this mess - its high risk approach to leverage.

Breaking: Prothena & Purplebricks crashing - is Woodford Fund now in breach of borrowing/unquoted limits? RNS needed ASAP!

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Don't tell Neil Woodford but Purplebricks is worth just 94p per share - or probably less!

Published 472 days ago

Today's bad news for Britain's most conceited fund manager, Neil "Nomates" Woodford is a savage note on Purplebricks (PURP) by broker Jeffries setting a 94p target as you can see HERE.  I discuss why this target could be too low or could be far too generous but the shares are certainly a slam dunk sell. I look at IQE (IQE) in light of Matty Earl's bombshell note HERE. There is comment on Online BlockCrap (OBC) and a look behind the headline numbers and the turd polishing which shows why Mobile Streams (MOS) is so deep in the unpolishable merde

Purplebricks responds to damning Jeffries report but not convincingly

Woodford and Capita – Strike two: a few observations

Published 473 days ago

My conclusion to The Big Short series over Christmas was that although it was a long-term play, Neil Woodford was only a few pieces of “bad luck” away from a speedier, more dramatic implosion. This week’s Capita (CPI) news is the second of those already and we’re only one month in. Further to the excellent pieces on Capita yesterday (HERE and HERE), a few further observations on the wider Woodford story from me.

Purplebricks - what does Google tell us? It is not something that makes me any less bearish

Published 480 days ago

I'm not entirely sold on the validity of Google Trends data, not least because the top result when you enter the search term "Purplebricks" is generally not the Purplebricks (PURP) website.  In fact, the Purplebricks website is generally quite a long way down the list.  That's just because other companies are paying up for the search term, perhaps attempting to leverage the company's highly successful (and controversial) TV advertising campaign. However, I pulled together a few of the trends, by geography, over time in the hope it might show something, and I think these graphs should raise a few concerns for the bulls.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Julie Meyer's in house lawyer is a very confused young man

I discuss Haike Chemical (HAIK) and why it is by definition a bad company as is - as per today's article here - Purplebricks (PURP). Woodford’s Income Focus Fund – Just keep digging, Neil, keep digging

Purplebricks - AllAgents stands up to fascist lawyers letters and starts publishing real reviews again... and they are damning

Bravo AllAgents.co.uk. The leading independent review site of Estate Agents is ignoring fascist lawyers letters from Purplebricks (PURP) and has just re-started publishing reviews of the crummy online estate agent, good and bad. Purplebricks - Woodford in for a penny, in for a pound

Published 545 days ago

Another shocker from Crowdcube, another nail in the coffin for Purplebricks

Published 579 days ago

Yesterday I flagged up the crazy valuation of Doorsteps.co.uk and how, egged on by some misleading marketing, it had managed to raise large sums on crowd funding website Crowdcube. Thus it now has cash - which it will burn fast on its flawed business model - but which will put even more pressure on prices and volumes at Purplebricks (PURP). Sadly it is not an isolated case. Meet I Am The Agent Limited.

To be censured by the ASA once is understandable but FOUR times looks like carelessness - Purplebricks!

Published 579 days ago

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the horrid truth behind Doorsteps.co.uk, a crowdfunding scandal and hot Telit gossip

Published 580 days ago

Yesterday I discussed Doorsteps.co.uk which claims that it will flog your house for £99. I now look more closely at its history and the utterly shameless way that Crowdcube raised £400,000 for it; at the fact free and unquestioning BJ's its 19 year old founder has received from Fleet Street and speculate about how bad its metrics really are. That it has raised cash so easily is bad news for Purplebricks as it is now funded to nibble at its market share and so will be others until they all go bust. But it will be too late for Purplebricks by then. I then have hot gossip on Telit (TCM) which shows up the FT's dictation from PR men taking hacks for the fools they are and reinforces the shorting case big time. I cover UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) and Conroy Gold & Natural Resources (CGNR), both need to place ASAP and in both cases it will be ugly. I also remind you again what UKOG is NOT saying.

Purplebricks - that race to the bottom: meet Doorsteps.co.uk & flog your house for £99

Published 581 days ago

Will Purplebricks (PURP) ever generate real profits from its UK Business? No. I have noted before that its business model is flawed and one reason is the race to the bottom on pricing. Meet the UK's 18th largest estate agent, Doorsteps.co.uk, and flog your house for just £99.

The £1.75 billion company that could go to zero - a major report from Tom Winnifrith

Purplebricks - what is really going on? More from heroic Chris

Having received a fascist lawyers letter from heavyweight lawyers Schillings myself I know that it can be quite intimidating. Mine (HERE) was on behalf of the fraudsters Quindell (QPP) and I told Schillings that I would "see you in Court bitchez." I knew Quenron would not dare go through a disclosure process. Estate Agent Chris Wood is armed with the same knowledge and has thus responded robustly to a missive on behalf of Purplebricks. I have chatted to Chris at length today and, as someone convinced, that Purplebricks is a zero I am happy to republish the missive from Schillings  and the response of Chris which adds mountains of evidence to the fact that Purplebricks is a can of worms which is spending ever greater sums trying to gag critics with fascist missives from expensive lawyers. Over to Chris:

BREAKING: Concha shows the race to the bottom that will destroy Purplebricks

Published 593 days ago

This website has never been a great supporter of Concha (CHA) but the Chris Akers vehicle has today announced an investment which shows you that Purplebricks (PURP) is heading for oblivion. Its "disruptive" business model is going to get disrupted and here is one reason why.

Telit and Eros: frauds and a lesson

A useful lesson has been handed out recently to bears by the price action in two stocks: Telit Communications (TCM), an Israeli fraud quoted in London, and Eros International, an Indian fraud quoted in New York.

It's week two of the reader-supported ShareProphets and everything is going better than planned, which is a very disconcerting feeling. Hundreds of readers have joined and we have far exceeeded what we were previously receiving on the advertising and free access model. At this rate we will be covering our current cost base and be able to contemplate the first pay rises in 4 years, for your writers, by November.

Tom Winnnifrith Bearcast: Purplebricks, the hard numbers - this just does not stack up at all!

Published 605 days ago

I start off with a cheque received for 29p. Then as we see the Purplebricks (PURP) share price start to melt I look at hard maths and explain why the shares will collapse from here. I look at the Rose Petroleum (ROSE) placing, misleading comments from worthless crap Strat Aero (AERO), dismal interims from shamed lifestyle company Magnolia Petroleum (MAGP) and then at Intelligent Energy (IEH) which looks like a zero in waiting.

Purplebricks...and another thing

Published 607 days ago

An eagle eyed reader flags up another matter relating to Neil "nomates" Woodford's next disaster, that is to say Purplebricks (PURP) which, in light of the latest shocking revelations today, is a zero in waiting as I explained HERE.

Tom Winnifrith BONUS Bearcast: Playing Sam Antar's fraudster game: a Purplebricks special

Published 607 days ago

Let us be clear: Purplebricks (PURP) is not a fraud but today's publication of customer reviews - that Purplebricks is desperate for you not to see - is damning and suggests a business model that is based on taking £1000 from large numbers of "customers" who get nothing in return. That is not sustainable and is why the shares are worth 0p. The Sam Antar reference is about how Purplebricks responds and that, in turn, will determine the speed of its collapse. That it will collapse is a given.

Avocet Mining and Purplebricks Demonstrate A Couple of Market Rules

A couple of market rules spring to mind today. Firstly: If a company’s management tells you that the equity is worthless you had better believe them.

BREAKING: Purplebricks - the Dynamite reviews it is utterly desperate you do not see: SELL Target price 0p

Published 607 days ago

These are the genuine reviews on AllAgents.co.uk that Purplebricks (PURP) has attempted to ensure that you do not see by sending threatening lawyers letters as we exposed yesterday. As you can see they are dynamite and show quite clearly a flawed business model which sees customer after customer ripped off. Word of that is spreading which is why this company will NEVER make a profit and will sooner or later run out of money and go bust. The shares are a sell at 380p - target price 0p. Now read on and wonder why folks like Neil "nomates" Woodford and Roger Lawson want to own these shares... PS If Purplebricks wants to threaten me to remove these posts I will take great pleasure in seeing the bitchez in Court.

BREAKING: AllAgents hits out, in formal statement, at Purplebricks for trying to suppress genuine reviews of its shoddy service

Published 608 days ago

Earlier I revealed how the UK's largest independent reviewer of Estate Agents had blocked Purplebricks (PURP) after it threatened legal action if Allagents.co.uk continued to carry reviews of its shoddy services which were anything other than flattering - 71 (half) of the reviews were bad and Purplebricks demanded they be removed. Now Allagents has upped the ante with a formal statement which reads:

Sell Purplebricks

BREAKING: Purplebricks fascist lawyers letters backfire as it's blocked from AllAgents.co.uk

Published 608 days ago

With 300,000 reviews, AllAgents.co.uk is the UK's largest independent site for independent reviews of Estate Agents by Customers. It has just taken the unprecedented step of not allowing Purplebricks (PURP) reviews because the AIM listed company was trying to "game" the system by using fascist lawyers letters. That tactic has now backfired in a spectacular fashion.

BREAKING: Purplebricks - bogus internet reviews on Trustpilot as it launches in the USA

Published 610 days ago

A questionable business model, shocking revelations on Watchdog, very murky management CVs exposed HERE, a complete lack of profits, a sky high valuatione, endorsements from shareholders "nomates" Neil Woodford and Roger Lawson as well as being tipped in the Godawful Midas Column in today's MoS- what could possibly go wrong for Purplebricks (PURP)? To justify its most recent keep the lights on fund raise it had to promise a new expansion strategy. And so on Friday it announced a US Launch. Natch it starts off with patently bogus internet reviews as you can see below. The Yanks are so dumb they will not notice will they?

Lessons from BNN, MySQUAR and Other Matters

Published 617 days ago

The BNN Technology (BNN) fiasco is rather a depressing reminder that it takes an event such as the resignation of a CFO, accompanied by some serious whistleblowing for NOMADs and AIM regulation to act, by which time it is invariably too late for the retail investor. This is largely because the system is inherently flawed in that NOMADs are paid by the very people that they are supposed to be vetting. This is why AIM is stuffed with BNNs ticking away like time bombs.

New Bulletin Board Moron of the Week contest - sponsored by Roger Lawson endorsed Purplebricks: Prize the right to fire Darren Atwater

Naturally he is reinstated almost immediately. The winner of this week's BBM Contest gets to fire Darren next Monday by mail or in person. What a prize!

My top four short-able shorts in London

Published 630 days ago

It is all very well saying that tiddly little companies like Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) or Eden Research (EDEN) are worthless cash guzzling frauds heading for 0p but they are just very hard to short. That both stocks will hit zero is a given. In the end frauds always run out of other people's money. What you want are stocks you can short which look almost certain to collapse. And right now you need them badly as a hedge. A hedge against what?

Lessons in Human Nature from the Woodford Debacle and Purplebricks the next shoe to drop?

Reader Comment of the day - Roger Lawson has new smelly "friends" but needs a lesson in stockmarket basics

Published 632 days ago

It seems that Roger Lawson of Globo and blinkx fame is not impressed by my suggestion that he is a bull of Purplebricks (PURP) and that it might therefore somehow be jinxed. But in a couple of after the pubs opened O'clock comments here last night he focusses the mind on what a select group he himself belongs to.

The Nomates Neil Woodford 2001 excuse/defence - it's just a Maginot line

Published 633 days ago

It is quite amazing to see just how few friends fund manager Neil Woodford has in the City these days. It is almost as if I am starting to feel that he is a kindred spirit. Neil, how about we have a joint Square Mile Christmas party for all of our friends in a telephone kiosk somewhere? The vast fees Nomates has charged for delivering three years of dismal underperformance do not play well but it is the arrogant insistence that Mr Market is always wrong because Nomates knows better that has unleashed such waves of schadenfreude after his latest disasters. But he still has one or two defenders who say "aha remember 2001" - but this Maginot defence does not wash.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - the Great British house price crash of 2017 - its now underway

Published 644 days ago

Okay I have called the top before but the house price crash is underway. I explain why and it involves cutting off the supply of dodgy foreign buyers in London, changes in Buy to Let Tax and new costs for landlords, it involves external shocks and an over-borrowed British consumer. It is already underway and this crash will be brutal. I look at what to invest in and what to short. I do a short section on Purplebricks (PURP) which is one of THE top stocks to short in the UK.
