It was just a few weeks ago that Avanti Communications (AVN) shares were in the decade of Blur and Oasis (the nineties) and bombastic CEO David Williams tried to spoof us all with a trivial share purchase costing him about all of two days of his obscene salary. Pretty quickly the shares slipped through the Maggie years and into the era of Abba and the Winter of Discontent. As I speak we are at Dana.
Dana? the borderline between the 70s and the decade when West Ham won the World Cup. The little girl from Londonderry triumphs at Eurovision with All Kinds of Everything while Avanti the joke company from Shoreditch sings its classic hit "all kinds of excuses".
Meanwhile the FRC continues to investigate its dodgy 2015 accounts and the cash is running out fast. Will David Williams manage to get another rescue refinancing away in time? Or will he be too busy sending lawyers letters out to silence folks who post BB comments about how Williams boasted of lying to investors with a fabricated demonstration, in order to secure funding in his early days?
Surely it is going to be the Geoff Hurst "They think its all over it is now!" decade for Avanti before too long as we then head rapidly onto Buddy Holly & the Crickets. The final destination, remains, the naughties. Keep selling.
Never miss a story.
