Oops: Red Faces for thick journos at Dow Jones as it confuses Lancaster's at Hurricane Energy

By Tom Winnifrith, The Sheriff of AIM | Friday 21 October 2016

Hat Tip to a sharp City broker for spotting this howler from the thick journos round at Dow Jones as they reported yesterday's Hurricane Energy (HUR) £70 million oversubscribed placing. Well done to Hurricane, not well done to the thick hacks who will be wearing the Dunce hats for some time...

Dow Jones said:

“Hurricane Energy PLC (HUR.LN) Thursday said it conditionally raised 70 million pounds ($86 million) in a placing and plans to raise GBP4.4 million in an open offer, to be used for development of its fields near Lancaster, England containing naturally fractured reservoirs"

Ooops don’t tell the locals you are fracking in Lancaster. Actually, don't panic, its actually the Lancaster basement play near the Shetlands. To help the thick hacks here are a couple of maps....
