2016 a bearcast year in review: Tom Winnifrith's favourite 10, and your top thirty

By Tom Winnifrith | Wednesday 28 December 2016

When I started bearcasts the plan was not to do them on a daily basis. But that is the way they are now produced. I have the odd day off but I enjoy recording. You cannot generate a typo in a bearcast. Sometimes the language is extreme, sometimes - as when, like now, I am with my father, - I speak like an Angel. The point is I say what I think and for some reason, most weeks, the bearcasts are always among the most read articles on ShareProphets.

They can also be a most useful weapon in pushing a fraud over the edge, in goading a crook to make an error or in making a Nomad or broker look so ridiculous that they have to act. I think of the battle against African Potash where I take credit for pushing both the PR and the Nomad to quit. Looking back at the latter resignation, it took place on September 7th, a week after the fraudsters were goaded into sending me a suicide note, that is to say a lawyers's letter.

I see many folks, the sort of folks who like investing in frauds, say that I am obnoxious or that bearcasts are vile. Maybe that is all fair comment but on balance whilst I am happy to accept the judgement of St Peter, which I very much doubt will be a favourable one, I am not sure that I really care how bulletin board morons view me. And you do not fight crooks by acting like Mother Theresa!

Thanks to all of you who have listened to bearcasts over the past year. If you like what you hear feel free to make a donation to keep this free to access website doing the work it does HERE.

My favourite podcast was the one where the house in which I sat in Greece was struck by lightning six minutes in. The rest of the podcast is only good but not great. But that one moment was fun as you can hear in the "Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Chatting to Mark Slater & struck by lightning mid recording"

For what it is worth my favourite ten bearcasts overall recorded during 2016 were:

1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 100% Shite Research from Belfort Securities on Advanced Oncotherapy, Servision and Strat Aero
