Disclosure: I own shares in one or more of the stocks mentioned. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
Less than a week to go to the UK Investor Show and it promises to be far and away the best yet. If you’ve not booked a ticket you’d better hurry up – they are running out fast. Lob in the promo code SP10 and you’ll get a freebie investor class ticket – you can’t say fairer than that! Looking down the list of companies present, I have already compiled a list of who I want to see and also what I am doing on the day.
So I shall be calling by the Minoan (MIN) stand to try to glean when the sale of the travel and leisure business will finally be sold, and when we will get news of what is happening at Cavo Sidero and what that might involve. Will we see a dividend? This was one of my shares for 2018 and I want to see that all is well.
Wishbone (WSBN) will be looking forward to my visit too, when I’ll be asking about its gold trading business and when that will return a profit (and when the share sales stop!).
Big Sofa (BST) is on my list as I want an update on how its plans for profitability are going. I’ll also try to get (in words of one syllable so that I understand it) a description of what it actually does, specially for readers who keep asking.
Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) is an interesting one, as its technology just might be really big. I only have a holding through my Optibiotix (OPTI) shares, but maybe they’ll tempt me enough to go shopping for my very own holding.
Ariana (AAU) is an older tip from last year. We should be getting a quarterly update shortly which I expect will show that everything is progressing well. But is the company going to rattle the tin? I hope not, but I’m open to persuasion.
I had a holding in NEX-listed Chapel Down (CDGP) before, and I now have some once again. The company raised cash over Christmas and I want to see what it is being spent on, and whether the wine and beer sales are still strong.
So that’s my super six, but with 130-odd stands to visit I’m sure I’ll wander round a good few more. That is when I’m not manning the ShareProphets stand, or on chairing a session on alternative investing with Nigel Wray and Malcolm Burne.
I’m really looking forward to it!
Never miss a story.
