Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
I have the same conversations with people all of the time: why should I read ShareProphets, a muckraking, little-known website, when I already subscribe to the FT?
I explain that ShareProphets breaks news constantly and that the deadwood media is always late to the party, if they show up at all.
Case in point: Tom's favourite FT writer Dan "snot gobbler" McCrum has decided to write about Folli Follie's questionable list of locations. He did this on Wednesday. That was two days after Tom did. And six days after we broke the story. And today the Sunday Times has "news" on Julie Meyer, a story we started to flag up on Wednesday before it was confirmed (and reported here) on Friday.
This kind of journalism is possible because of support by people like you. Thank you for subscribing. And if you have a collegue who would benefit from some hard truths rather than the soft sell, send them this link: https://www.shareprophets.com/membership/join.php
The first non-Tom story is Is PurpleBricks set to repay millions? by Chris Wood at an excellent #1.
